Chapter 19 - The Thousand Eyes of the Abyss

"Yes… everything here is a lie. Every single thing…"

I am Vaelith.

Not once, even for a moment, did I ever imagine my life would change like this.

And all because of the one person I trusted the most…

The one I thought was my second soul.

Vaelith found himself in a strange place beautiful in appearance, but hollow in feeling.

Even with all its shine, Vaelith felt no joy.

He had to stay alone the entire day.

And he still didn't know how he ended up here… or perhaps he simply refused to accept that someone like him would do this to him.

Two days passed.

Vaelith sat alone inside a royal-looking room.

Whenever he felt hungry, food appeared instantly as if by magic anything he wanted, except anything alive.

A place where you could get everything you desired…

Yet everything tasted empty, as if the whole world was filled with a silent void.

His mind constantly circled one thought,

"How do I get out of here… back to my world, back home?"

Almost a week passed.

Vaelith remained restless.

Then one night…

In his dream, Vaelith saw a blinding light so bright he couldn't look at it.

Around him he saw a sealed room, wrapped in threads like the web of some monstrous insect.

Threads so sharp that touching them might sever flesh from bone.

Threads so sharp that touching them might sever flesh from bone.

But when he looked carefully

He realized he was dreaming of this very room.

His dream was just a different version of where he truly slept.

This time, however… there was a path.

Following that path, Vaelith entered a strange, unknown chamber.

At its center stood a glowing stone pedestal, shining like pale moonlight.

From that reflection, Vaelith understood the light in his dream came from here.

He stepped closer.

As he reached out to lift the sword resting there, his eyes shifted to an old black board beside it.

On it, written in something white and eerie ,

"Learn first, then touch."

Vaelith didn't understand what it meant, but he felt something unsettling in his chest…

A warning, like if he ignored it, he would die in agony.

Just as panic pressed on him, words appeared on the next wall

Shimmering in the glowing light

As if describing the rules of mastering something unimaginable.

Vaelith couldn't understand any of it. So he chose to step away.

But the dream refused to leave him.

From that week onward, every night he dreamed something new

A different moment, a different lesson

As if someone was trying to teach him something.

Forcefully.

And worst of all,

Something inside him was breaking.

He no longer wanted to sleep.

The strange sounds in those dreams wouldn't let him.

soone night, when exhaustion finally hit him,

Vaelith got up and walked out.

He would see this place for himself.

He followed the direction that the dreams had shown him…

But before he reached his destination

Something massive appeared before him:

A giant sphere of darkness.

At its center, something invisible was pulling him in slowly, steadily like gravity made of hunger.

And when Vaelith was finally swallowed by it

He saw something he never could've imagined.

On both sides of him, stretching endlessly

Thousands of creatures.

Grotesque.

Twisted.

Some screaming.

Some crying.

All suffering.

Vaelith trembled violently.

He squeezed his eyes shut, certain he was moments away from dying.

Then suddenly

A laugh echoed from within the mass of creatures.

For a moment, Vaelith felt as if the ruler of this place had just spoken.

And then

A single voice rose, as if calling him from the edge of hope.

But time was almost gone.

Death surrounded him.

Even then, Vaelith knew

He would die only after fighting with everything he had left.

...

"Vaelith… Mr. Vaelith…"

Lost in his own swirling thoughts, Vaelith paused.

That voice…

That voice wasn't from this darkness.

When he opened his eyes

Lyanna stood before him.

Looking straight at him.

A smile appeared on Vaelith's lips without him even noticing

A sight so rare that Rosielle and Varen froze in shock.

Rosielle hurried to him, grabbed his hand gently, and asked:

"What's wrong, Vaelith? Why were you so quiet? I've been calling you for so long…"

Lyanna, watching silently, wondered:

Did I call that loudly?

He woke up just from my voice?

Rosielle and Varen had already been shouting at him for half an hour.

He didn't move, didn't blink, didn't respond.

So she tried calling him too.

Not expecting anything.

But… did my voice reach him before theirs?

Does that mean my voice is… louder? Or heavier? Or something else?

Lyanna drifted into confusion.

Meanwhile, Vaelith looked at her…

And remembered the moment of darkness.

Even he was terrified by those creatures

Convinced he would die.

But Lyanna…

When he saw her, only one thought came to him:

What is this girl made of…?

Why does she have no fear?

If I could be as fearless as her…

He looked at his own hand, then at her again, and suddenly asked ,

"What did you call me earlier, Lyanna?

Mr. Vaelith?"

Lyanna quickly turned her face away.

Somewhere else…

In a land unknown, vast and boundless. A vast open land stretched beneath a pale, endless sky.

Thin streams and narrow rivers branched across the earth like delicate threads, all weaving toward a single point the center

where a small, solitary sea lay resting, quiet and self contained, as if it belonged to no world but its own.

In the middle of that serene water sat a man.

A breathtakingly beautiful one.

Half of his upper body rose above the shimmering surface, droplets sliding down his skin with the slow grace of falling stars.

Nothing covered him , the faint glow of the water outlined every line of his sculpted physique.

His long hair deep, luminous blue floated weightlessly around him, drifting with the soft current like strands of enchanted silk.

And his eyes…

Bright, glowing, sapphire blue

As if the entire ocean had reflected itself into his gaze.

For a moment, he simply existed there,

basking in a tranquility that looked almost divine

as if he were savoring a perfect, precious fragment of time.

But then

He felt the ripple of something behind him uninvited...

A presence behind him small, but impossible to ignore.

His brows twitched.

The man lifted his head slightly, the serenity around him breaking like glass.

Water shifted with him, swirling in delicate circles as he turned.

His voice, when it rose, was beautiful yet edged with danger

refined, commanding, unforgiving.

"…Who dares?"

His tone was precious yet terrifying

Elegant, divine, and furious all at once.

...

Evening approached.

After leaving at dawn, Rrisu finally arrived at their destination with everyone.

They stepped out one by one, exhausted.

Vaelith came out first, glancing at Lyanna.

Then Lyanna stepped out, and Rosielle jumped down quickly beside her.

Varen followed, scanning the burning hot surroundings.

"Why are you standing there? Move," Varen muttered..

But as they started walking Rosielle suddenly stopped. Then shouted,

"Everyone, stop!"

Lyanna, Varen, and Vaelith turned toward her.

Rosielle raised her gaze upward…

And saw them.

At the three corners.

Three figures.

Watching them.

As if they had been waiting all along.
