When a team member dies, suppressed emotions flare up again with full force. For the sake of the townspeople and their loved ones, those who join the team must take the Oath of Feeling, resolving to follow their hearts in the face of adversity. The significance of this oath for the Beacon Team stems from the ever-increasing possibility of people being placed in distress. And deaths that occur outside this oath carry considerable significance. They leave countless questions, leaving only two options: suicide or murder.
Marcus, a member of the Beacon Team, was the primary reason for being left with countless questions. The mystery surrounding his brutal death loomed large for the team members. Discovering the first clue to the townspeople's strange behavior, followed by his death hours later, clarified some of the questions. Approximately two days had passed since this critical meeting regarding the brutal death. Each team member was informed of Marcus's first clue through the Oath of Feeling. Lord Marvian, who had been remarkably calm and quiet, was in conversation with someone in his room.
"We only just got the first clue... You know that the losses we've suffered and will suffer may be completely in vain, right?!"
"First of all, please lower your voice a little, Ralf. And I know, too, that the knowledge we've gained is small compared to the loss we've suffered."
"I think most of us already know this... So, what do we do next?!"
"Even if it's a small clue, we'll take it. And little by little, we'll learn more. I absolutely believe that."
"Here's the answer I expected from you... Anyway... Who will you assign to investigate this clue?"
"...I've been considering a few names for the last three days. I'll let you know soon. I think they're definitely the best fit for the job."
"Anyway, since you're the Leader, I don't have much to say. I just want to see the days when we can get rid of these boring, nonsensical days."
"Ralf, you just mentioned the main reason why we formed this team. We even talked many times about how we were not affected by such a different situation."
"It always bothers me to tell you why we're here. Even before, the city's people were acting scary. But now, it's as if they have a killing intent..."
"I mean, losing Marcus after all this information... We didn't even talk the day he died. And he never told me he was making good progress with his research. And despite the information he's gathered, we still haven't learned anything significant. I know I'm being a little selfish... but it feels weird that Marcus is even giving us any information at all."
" Yes, indeed. It's strange in itself, knowing someone like Marcus is working behind our backs. He's always had a funny personality. He was more interested in us than the townspeople. And although you're the one who brought him on this team, you're his older brother, after all."
"...When the city fell into such a different state, I found him frightened. He lived up to the name he inherited from my grandfather when necessary, but his true desire was to see people smile... Even though I was his older brother, we didn't get along very well... But I never wanted it to be like this...!"
"Marvian, I'll never understand you because we're not brothers. But we've been friends since we were little. Marcus dying isn't your fault. I don't know why you're working without telling us, but there's definitely a reason. And please, try to stay calm..."
The team realized that this conversation, which had begun calmly and quietly but then turned angry and loud, was rooted in pain. Marvian, who always maintained a serious demeanor, momentarily eased his pain. Then, with Ralf's calming, he was able to return to his normal state. Yet, he could never fully ease the pain he was experiencing. He tried to piece together dozens of thoughts in his mind, trying to understand what had caused Marcus's death. Meanwhile, Ralf, after a long pause, witnessed Marvian's intelligence with astonishment. Minutes, even hours later, Marcus summoned Edwina to his room with the clue he had found. It was time to get serious, and was it passing?
