At midnight I couldn't sleep, so I got up and headed to my mom's chamber. When I got there, I knocked, a maid opened the doors "Come in, your majesty," she smiled.
I nodded at her and entered, already at 1:30 am, but Mom hadn't slept; she was busy combing her long silver hair, while the maids were packing her things.
I stared at her hair, feeling sad… I cleared my throat to gain her attention.
She giggled " Don't worry honey, you will have yours when it is time" I rolled my eyes dramatically, "You said Royal Changelings will manifest their power at the age of twenty. But I'm twenty-two already, but…. Nothing changed" I touched my black hair and frowned, I'm pure royal blood, why is it taking so long…what if I meet my fellow race in Rock Star?
" Listen, darling, stop comparing yourself to others, you're different, the first hybrid changelings, with two different royal Changelings. Emily will never be as powerful as you because you came first. The firstborn of hybrids are always powerful"
" I knew that, but I'm still confused why labelled as hybrid. Didn't you say Dad is also a changeling?" I asked, and I think there's a lot to learn from my race.
Mom chuckled " I've told you, your dad is from the Golden Kingdom, and the Golden Kingdom has several abilities"
"Yes, I knew about that," she had once told me there are four kingdoms of changelings in the immortal world. And we're the second most populated race in the immortal world.
The Werewolves have six kingdoms. They ruled the immortal realm, but my races are twice as powerful as the races that use magics or witchcrafts.
" A kingdom in the immortal realm, is just like a country in the human realm, your father and I are from different Kingdoms, meaning different countries, we're just Changelings by name, but not by blood." She elaborated
"Korea, China, Thailand, and Indonesia are Asian countries but they aren't the same" she added.
" Ohhhh" I placed my Palm on my forehead, Now I understood the reason why I'm a hybrid for the first time in my life!
"Your blood as the Golden Changeling is equal as the silver changeling," Mom said and smiled. " It's not easy to get what you want, you should be thankful to your little body for containing two powerful bloods" she added.
Well, I knew about that. The Golden Kingdom is the leading kingdom. They're the most powerful changelings, you will never find changelings with coloured hair except blonde, in that kingdom. They're gifted several magics apart from the royal family's magics. And also obsessed with gold.
The silver kingdom, are the water benders. White hair with deep blue eyes. They're the second most powerful, very close to sea animals, it's their soul animals anyway.
There are several ice mountains, cold lakes and snow. The kingdom and palace were decorated with ice and silver. No human can withstand their crazy icy weather.
The third Kingdom are the red hair changelings.They're the fire bender and so obsessed with red. Woods are very common In their kingdom. And dangerous animals that breathe out fire.
The fourth kingdom is the dark or black kingdom; they're Changelings with black hair. They used dark magic, very close to demons and witches, and good friends with the black werewolves.
" That's why you're hybrid honey, although we are the same, but by name, not by birth. We found mates within ourselves, I mean within the kingdom, the lucky ones found their mates among the Werewolves or vampires. But mating with another kingdom of our race has never happened since we exist. This was the reason why we separated, because we are very different from each other, just like countries in human realm." Mom elaborated.
"The difference is, the Immortals practiced Monarchy government, but Jend want to be the president of the immortal realm, foolish boy, hahaha" mom burst into laughter.
I rolled my eyes, actually it's not funny " Are they considered a hybrid? The children of those that mated with other races?" I asked in confusion.
" Yes, just know this, you are different; they want to be like you badly. You will have the abilities of both kingdoms, and you should know this too: the firstborn of each royal family is the most powerful. Emily has more of the Golden Kingdom, so she's safe" I frowned, "I'm not safe?"
" Well, yes, you're the first hybrid and your mate has many enemies, the female Changelings will be jealous" I sighed in frustration, the more I learnt about the truth, the more danger!
" I've investigated Rock Star deeply, their syllabus isn't like other schools' syllabus, which is weird, they teach their students about mythology, I want you to go there and learn more about our race and your mate, you should graduate with your full power manifest, you can go to immortal world like this" she shook her head.
" I wish Alicia and James were here with me" I looked at my fingers, displeased. Alicia is my childhood best friend. I met James here. Alicia suddenly vanished without traces, which is strange; she used to move with us, anywhere we went, with her parents. They're not human and hiding from witches too. I don't know what exactly Alicia is, but I'm very sure she's not either werewolf or vampire.
" Who is James?" Mom asked in surprise, she had warned me several times. No boyfriend, no friends. I rolled my eyes "He's just a stranger I used to see passing, nothing much, I noticed his absent,"I lied. James is my very good friend, but I don't even know much about him; he also vanished like Alicia!
Mom nodded in relief, " Good, remember your mate is very dangerous and obsessed with what belongs to him, don't think he's not monitoring your movements, for instance, someone you love may vanish without even your notice" she giggled.
" What?" I asked, shocked. But James and Alicia are just my friends.
"Don't fall for any man, you can make friends with them, so go and sleep and get ready. Ambrose will take you there early tomorrow, remember, always wear your chain, it's detects danger" she then kisses my forehead, but I still have many questions.
When will my power manifest as a hybrid? If my mate isn't the reason why those I care for vanished, then why?
I left her room and headed to mine. I claimed my bed and lay down on my back. I don't want to sleep; my mate is so Adamant to disturb my sleep.
" But you are different" echoed in my head. Being different from others is not easy.
The next day, the maids woke me up earlier than I imagined. " Why waking up at 5am?" I frowned, annoyed. The maid smiled "The queen is ready to leave, she wants you to leave when you do, Queen Witch has sent many witches to investigate what or who killed her favourite messenger"
I sighed and let them to dress me in a simple yet luxurious gown. The kind of gown that will make people curious about the price.
Once I was ready, they led me downstairs, and I met Mom and Emily, fully dressed.
I almost cried,I hugged Emma sadly. " I will miss you," I said. This is the first time I want to part with Emma.
Emily giggled "Don't worry, shouldn't you be happy you're going to a royal school, you will meet a charming prince and…" she paused and leaned in to my heart " your ex-boyfriend"
" Emily" I glared at her. "This secret should be buried between us" I warned.
" If mom finds out, I will break your head"
" Darling," Mom pulled me into her embrace. I am the biggest treasure she doesn't want to lose, but sooner or later, the queen witch will find out.
She's now suspicious of my mom moving around and has eyes on her. Rock Star Royal is just a blessing in disguise.
" When you get there, rule them"
" Make them your slaves," Emma added. Ahhh, what kind of advice is that?
" Don't you want me to lay low?" Mom opened the back seat door.
"Nothing like laying low anymore, that b*tch witch is cunning, she will soon report us to the immortal authorities. We will have no choice but to go back"
" What about your parents?"
" They are aware and helped me. Take this" she gave me a black card. I nodded and entered the latest luxury car.
" Megan" she called " it's located in the forbidden forest" She looked at me deeply " I don't care about what they teach, you know what to do" I looked at her with surprise, " Ezekiel?" She nodded. She gave me a knowing smile and closed the car door.
