Dominic strolled towards Thor, a mischievous grin playing on his lips as he saw Thor glumly sweeping dust off the ground. He feigned sympathy and said, "Hey, Lord of Thunder, need some 'Earth logistics service' help?" His tone was full of teasing, and the smile at the corner of his mouth became increasingly exaggerated, as if he were watching a free show.
Hearing this, Thor looked up with a helpless expression, a bitter smile mixed in his eyes. He sighed and mumbled like a child being mocked, "Alas, I can't even lift this hammer now. What kind of god am I? Just an ordinary person sweeping." He finished, shrugging his shoulders, a nearly cartoonish sadness on his face, as if the whole World had betrayed him.
Dominic listened, put on an exaggerated expression of "understanding," patted Thor's shoulder, winked, and chuckled in a low voice, "It's okay, brother. On Earth, even the 'ordinary people' at McDonald's have fans chasing them. You might not be able to lift the hammer, but hey, maybe you can try lifting... a part-time job?"
"Part-time job?"
Thor furrowed his brow, looking at Dominic in confusion, and repeated, "Part-time job? What kind of divine artifact is that?"
Dominic couldn't help but laugh out loud, patted his shoulder, and shook his head, "Brother, 'part-time job' is not a divine artifact. Simply put, you do some work, and others give you some money. If you're good enough, maybe you can save up to buy your own hammer, so you don't have to keep thinking about the one on this rock."
Thor was completely confused, blinking his eyes, "What do you mean? So, 'part-time job' is sweeping the floor? And then getting a hammer?"
Dominic rolled his eyes, trying hard to hold back his laughter, "Pretty much, or... I can take you to McDonald's to try. Maybe they're short on 'Thors' serving burgers today."
Coulson lightly coughed, interrupting this strange "career planning meeting," and looked at Dominic helplessly, sighing, "Alright, can you take this 'Lord of Thunder' away first? Otherwise, in a few more minutes, he'll probably sweep the entire desert."
After speaking, he pushed the two away from the area without question, mumbling, "Dominic, you'd better take this 'Lord of Thunder' away quickly and find him a part-time job a hundred thousand miles away from here."
Thor, however, was unwilling, and kept looking back as he walked, gazing at the hammer suppressed by the large stone, a look of deep reluctance on his face. He spoke with sorrowful emotion, "Ah, hammer, you and I are like stars accompanying the moon. Not seeing you for a day feels like three autumns... May the winds of the sky carry my thoughts into your metallic heart..."
Dominic and Coulson immediately felt a chill. A strange image of a "hammer version of Thor" involuntarily appeared in their minds: the hammer was anthropomorphized, with deep eyes and soft golden hair, staring into Thor's eyes. In a flash of lightning, their fingers intertwined—Coulson even imagined the hammer wearing a wedding dress...
The two looked at each other in unison, their faces uncomfortable, and simultaneously mumbled, "Uh... that image is really weird."
Inside the cowboy saloon, sunlight filtered through the crack in the door, casting a warm yellow glow on the wooden floor. In the middle of the day, there were only two people in the entire saloon—Dominic and Thor. Several empty large beer cans were placed beside them, and in front of them were large cans of ice-cold beer, one after another. The two were already arm in arm, calling each other brothers, as if they were comrades who had fought together for many years. They would clink glasses generously from time to time, letting out Earth-shattering laughter.
Thor roughly wiped the foam from his mouth, slammed the table, and said with a laugh, "Hahaha! You can't imagine, I defeated the giants of the Nine Realms by myself back then! They scattered like flies, and I—used only one hand!" As he spoke, he gestured exaggeratedly, his face beaming as he boasted about his legendary achievements, completely disregarding whether he was resonating with the entire saloon (which he wasn't, as there were only two of them in the saloon).
Dominic leaned back lazily in his chair, smiling and shaking his head, his face full of playful amusement, "Really? I wish they had recorded a video back then, such a wonderful performance shouldn't be wasted." As he spoke, he reached out and picked up a beer can, clinking it against Thor's with a "bang." The two tilted their heads back and gulped down a large mouthful of beer, like two unrestrained cowboys, completely engrossed in the perfect afternoon of "bragging and heavy drinking."
Just then—
"Creak—" The door was pushed open, accompanied by a crisp ringing sound. Jane Foster walked in, a hint of worry on her face, followed closely by Daisy Lewis. The two surveyed the scene in the saloon, their eyes sweeping over Thor. Jane was clearly relieved, while Daisy's gaze lingered on Thor for a second before being drawn to Dominic sitting next to him—after all, Homelander was a big star on TV.
Daisy's eyes instantly lit up, her heart rate suddenly accelerated, her eyes sparkling with the electric light of hormones, and a blush of excitement appeared on her face. As if seeing a childhood idol, she couldn't help but whisper, "Oh my god... it's Homelander himself!" She tried to calm her excitement, then straightened her back, showing a slightly shy but expectant smile, and waved at Dominic, "Hi... big star!"
Dominic put down his beer can, saw the shy Daisy, raised an eyebrow, and smiled slightly, his expression adding a few points of indifferent cynicism. He winked, waved lazily, and a meaningful smile played at the corner of his mouth, "Oh, I didn't expect to meet a fan in this small town."
Jane Foster looked at her friend Daisy, who seemed to have "forgotten her friend when she saw a handsome guy," and rolled her eyes helplessly, secretly complaining in her heart, "I'm really impressed, Daisy, you don't even remember how I got in, do you?"
And Daisy had completely disregarded Jane's presence, walking a few steps to Dominic's side, striking what she thought was a goddess-like pose, a sweet smile on her lips, and cautiously extending her hand, "Oh, Homelander, uh... I'm Daisy Lewis, can I... take a picture with you?" Her face was full of shyness but couldn't hide her excitement.
Dominic lowered his head, his usual gentlemanly smile appearing on his face, his voice low and magnetic, "Of course, Miss Daisy, it's my honor to take a photo with a beautiful fan." He nodded gently at her, raised his phone, and captured the two of them in the same frame. Daisy tried to maintain an elegant smile, her heart pounding like a drum.
After the photo, Daisy looked at the picture on the screen, smiling happily, while Jane completely bypassed Thor, who was still gulping down beer, and turned to Dominic, lowering her voice to ask, "Excuse me, is this Thor... is he really that Thor?"
Before Dominic could answer, Thor heard the words "Thor" and immediately put down his beer can, turned to Jane, and said proudly, "Of course it's me, didn't I tell you last night? I am the Prince of Asgard, the Protector of the Nine Realms, the Lord of Thunder, the Son of Odin!" He said each title loudly, as if they themselves carried the power of thunder, a proud smile on his face.
Jane was stunned, staring blankly at this overly confident man. Dominic, on the other hand, raised an eyebrow slightly and whispered to Daisy, "See, Daisy, heroes are very good at 'self-promotion.'"
