Chapter 7 - The Silent Judgm

After long hours of investigation, the police began closing their files, carefully reviewing notes.

John sat on his couch, motionless, silent as Adam had asked, eyes tracking every movement without uttering a word.

Adam stood nearby, observing everything.

One of the officers smiled tiredly:

"John, we've checked everything, verified all details, but we don't have enough evidence to formally charge you. You won't be detained."

John exhaled slowly, as if a huge weight had been lifted from his chest, yet he still didn't feel at ease.

The officer placed a hand on his shoulder:

"But… you'll remain a suspect. Any strange movement or incident related to previous cases will put you back at the top of the investigation."

The police left, leaving a tense silence as if the room itself breathed slowly after a storm.

Adam turned to John, speaking calmly:

"You're okay now, but the situation isn't over. Being a suspect means we need a different strategy."

He took out his phone and quietly called a longtime friend, a psychiatrist, Dr. William:

"William, I need your help with John. The situation is delicate, and we need to analyze him before things get out of control."

Dr. William replied in a calm, thoughtful voice:

"I understand, Adam. I'll come immediately, and we'll see how to assess his condition. The focus must be on his mind first."

Adam looked at John and said softly but firmly:

"I'll bring a trusted psychiatrist who knows how to read your mind. Don't worry, everything will be under control. But I need you to stay calm and avoid sudden moves."

John sat motionless, eyes following Adam, a faint smile crossing his face, though not reaching his eyes.

Even with the brief relief of the police leaving, he knew the dark shadows trailing him hadn't vanished, and the strange inner voice continued whispering:

"You are not only defending them… you are judging them."

With William's arrival, a new chapter of psychological observation and analysis began, where John would confront the truth within himself while Adam monitored every step, thought, and gesture with precision.
