Chapter 4 - Tear Off that Face!

Amelia hurried over to her daughter as she came down the stairs, scolding and worrying, "Your foot isn't better yet, how could you come down by yourself?"

She reached out to help her.

The Miller family doted on their daughter so much that Emma was undoubtedly seen as a rich and pampered young lady, born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

Feeling neglected, Isabella was somewhat dissatisfied and even jealous.

She believed she was no worse than Emma, but because of their vastly different backgrounds, Emma was born superior while she had to grovel and please others.

Why should that be?

Isabella gritted her teeth with hatred in her heart, but maintained her usual gentle smile as she approached Emma, wanting to help her sit down.

"Sister, how did you hurt your foot so carelessly? Didn't Brother William protect you?"

She called him Brother William affectionately.

The point was that Isabella knew full well that Emma's confession to William had been rejected that morning, and deliberately said this to hurt her.

Unfortunately, in her previous life, Emma had sincerely regarded Isabella as her own sister, sharing everything with her and even seeking her advice on how to please William.

The result was that William only grew more and more disgusted with her…

Looking back now, there were signs of it all along.

Emma brushed off Isabella's attempt to help her and sat down on the sofa, saying nonchalantly, "So you like William, huh? Well, you can have him."

She smiled, her expression as innocent and deceiving as ever.

But Isabella suddenly shuddered.

"Sister, what are you talking about? I've never had any improper thoughts about Brother William. You know I only want you to marry the person you love. I'm happy for you!"

Her tone was so generous and understanding.

Emma raised an eyebrow and suddenly asked, "Do you know what the biggest advantage of your family is?"

"What… what is it?"

"Your dad has thick skin and can justify anything, your mom is greedy and still thinks she's right, and you… you're so full of fake sentimentality that you're even starting to believe it yourself, aren't you?"

Emma sneered, not holding back at all.

No one knew how much she hated this family!

She wished she could kill Isabella right now!

Compared to what they had done, what did her words matter?

Isabella was stunned, her face full of grievance.

"Sister, how could you say that…"

Emma remained indifferent to her performance, her cold gaze sweeping over Isabella.

From head to toe, Isabella was dressed in expensive designer clothes.

"Stop pretending. Don't you have any sense of shame? My dad brought your family of three into our house and treated you like esteemed guests. Now that you've settled in the city, isn't it time for you to leave my house?"

Out of courtesy, the Miller family had never said such things before.

But today, Emma not only said it, but also mocked them for being thick-skinned and refusing to leave!

Thomas and Scarlett, carrying large and small shopping bags, had just entered the house and heard this.

Their faces immediately turned ugly.

"Emma, are you insinuating that your Second Uncle and Second Aunt have taken advantage of your family?" The Harris couple, The second uncle and aunt, stepped forward, looking like they were demanding an explanation.

Emma smiled instantly. "Isn't it?"

They say that people who are soft-spoken are easy to bully.

But this family not only didn't restrain themselves, they even acted arrogantly and domineeringly!

Isabella's eyes turned red, and she quickly stepped forward to stop her parents, speaking in a soft and aggrieved voice, "Dad, Mom, don't be angry. My sister didn't mean it. It's our fault. Shall we leave now?"

Thomas and Scarlett fell silent after their daughter's fake sentimental speech.

Emma watched the scene coldly, knowing that Isabella was using her same old trick, fetreating to advance.

Anyone watching would instantly feel sorry for her.

As the tension grew heavier, Amelia quickly intervened. "It's nothing, it's nothing. Emma doesn't know any better. We're all living together as a family, so let's not fight."

After Madam Miller stepped in, the Harris couple's expressions eased slightly, but they still refused to let it go. "Emma doesn't treat us like family," they complained. "We took care of her when she was young, but now that she's grown up, she turns her back on us."

The sarcasm in their tone was too much for Madam Miller to endure.

For the sake of her daughter, she finally retorted, "Enough is enough. You've worked hard buying all these things. Go and rest in your room."

Emma almost burst out laughing. Her mother was always gentle and kind, like a woman from Baywater.

But even the gentlest person has a limit. Emma and her brother were her mother's bottom line.

It was clear Madam Miller was protecting her children. The Thomas couple had nothing to say in response to her rebuke.

The anger boiled in their hearts, but they didn't dare to say too much.

Just then, the sound of a car outside could be heard.

The servant exclaimed, "Master is back."

Benjamin walked in, dressed in a sharp suit, looking confident and full of energy.

Thomas immediately rushed to complain. "Brother, look at your spoiled daughter. She wants to kick us out!"

Scarlett quickly added fuel to the fire. "In her eyes, we're just outsiders. Ah... if only Grandpa and Grandma hadn't passed away so early. If they were still alive, they'd be heartbroken to see such an unfilial granddaughter."

Isabella's eyes filled with tears as she cried in grievance. "Uncle, it must be my fault that my sister is unhappy. That's why she scolded us."

They exaggerated the situation as much as possible.

Seeing this, Benjamin's brow furrowed.

He was always someone who valued family and relationships.

Having three more people at the dinner table was just spending a little extra money. After all, they were siblings, why make a fuss?

He was about to scold his daughter for being unreasonable, but the moment his eyes met Emma's expression, his heart panicked.

"Hey, my dear daughter, why are you crying? Who bullied you? I'll go beat them up!"

Benjamin was a powerful man outside, with an impressive status in the business world, but his only weakness was his wife, his love for his daughter, and his affection for his son.

Nothing in the world could compare to a single tear from his daughter.

Seeing this, Thomas couldn't help but mutter, "It's just a tear, why make such a fuss?"

Benjamin immediately retorted, "Is that just a tear from my daughter? No! That's a pearl, that's a diamond!"

Emma, who always felt like crying whenever she saw her father, couldn't hold back her tears after hearing that.

In her previous life, she remembered her father's once-black hair had already turned half grey.

At that time, the Miller Group was facing a major crisis. And she, still young and foolish, had taken the blame and gone to jail at the critical moment.

Under that double blow, her father had been so furious that he was hospitalized.

In the end... his oxygen tube was pulled out by Isabella, separating them forever.

Now, looking at her father in his forties, still in his prime, still well-preserved and elegant, her heart ached.

Emma rushed into her father's arms. "Dad, I missed you so much..."
