Karu grips his blade. Eyes steady. Flames roar and from them steps a demon. Skin blazing red, clapping slowly as he approaches.
"Not scared? I'll give you props" he mocks.
Karu's pupils glow.
The demon tilts his head and chuckles. "Don't tell me… you still think you can kill me?" He laughs burying his face in his hands.
Karu steps forward. Blade aimed at the demon's skull. "You really wanna die" he mutters glaring as he creeps closer.
One of the demon's eyes opens. Red blazing. Pupil engulfed in light. In a blink the demon blinks away leaving Karu alone.
"Those eyes were completely covered in that light" Karu observes chuckling as he circles slowly.
The demon watches Karu atop the second floor analyzing him until…
"Found you" Karu whispers ripping the demon's nape clean off with his blade. He glares as the head tumbles to the floor. He grins.
"You know when your eyes brighten your mana usually grows stronger but I guess yours was all for show huh" Karu mutters smirking as its eyes turn white.
"And when your eyes turn white you di—"
"Die?"
The demon reappears behind Karu perched on a chair playing with his nails. Karu's eyes widen slowly turning as he watches the demon. "You're right anyways Demon or human whenever your eyes turn white your mana fades" the demon notes standing up grinning at Karu.
"But if you lower your mana to barely detectable Your eyes turn white but you're still alive? Look who's standing right now. Me" the demon taunts jumping up and down leaving Karu glaring at him with hatred and a red spark in his eyes.
"You won't survive whilst this blade tears your neck" Karu thinks clenching his blade, red mana spiraling into it.
"It's a mirac— huh" the demon stops jumping gasping as he notices Karu's eyes flare bright red.
The demon blinks then again before erupting into laughter. "You still wanna fight huh Even though I'm levels above Idio—" the demon gets cut off ducking Karu's swing. It grins.
"Don't worry about me being weaker" Karu growls slashing the demon's arm from below with his glowing blade.
The demon gasps as his arm falls to the ground. Blood spills and rolls.
"Cuz I haven't gone all out" Karu growls smirking at the demon.
The demon gasps then twists into a devious smirk grinning back at Karu. "I could say the same you know" it snarls. His arm reappears leaving Karu stunned. His eyes return to normal.
"Regeneration after all that slash I even infused it with mana" Karu notes glancing at his blazing red blade.
The grinning demon chuckles vanishing next to Karu's shoulder. "Scared?" it mocks.
"Scared? Against a demon like you Some may be but fighting you only strengthens my mana" Karu hisses.
The demon freezes before springing away dodging Karu's strike. Its eyes widen thinking.
"We really are similar Karu of Flames So similar" the demon muses grinning as he charges.
"I just gotta make you a student. Of Kanon".
