Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: The House

As the sun began to rise, casting a warm golden hue over the sleepy town, everything unfolded just as they had meticulously planned. Each of them, filled with a mix of excitement and trepidation, managed to persuade their parents to let them embark on this adventure. It was a moment of triumph, yet a flutter of nerves danced in their stomachs. They were stepping into the unknown, unaware of who had initiated the mysterious call that had sparked their curiosity, or what awaited them in the quaint little town they were about to visit.

With a sense of urgency, they gathered their belongings, carefully packing their bags with essentials and a few cherished items. The air was thick with anticipation as they made their way to the train station, their hearts racing with every step. Upon arrival, the hustle and bustle of the station enveloped them; the sound of trains whistling and people chatting filled the air. They boarded the train, the rhythmic clattering of the wheels against the tracks adding to the thrill of their journey.

As the train chugged along, they exchanged stories and laughter, their initial nerves slowly dissipating. The landscape outside the window transformed from urban sprawl to picturesque countryside, each passing scene igniting their imaginations about the adventures that lay ahead. After a while, they reached a nearby station, where they disembarked and quickly found a bus waiting to take them further into the heart of their destination.

The bus ride was filled with chatter and excitement, as they gazed out at the rolling hills and vibrant fields that surrounded them. Each twist and turn of the road brought them closer to the town that had piqued their interest. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they arrived. Stepping off the bus, they were greeted by the charming sights and sounds of Maajaan, a place that seemed to hold countless secrets and stories waiting to be discovered. The adventure was just beginning, and they could hardly contain their enthusiasm as they set foot in this enchanting town.

"Hey everyone, I think we've gathered enough memories for the moment; perhaps it's time we consider heading back. This place is sending shivers down my spine," Aravali remarked, her hands instinctively rubbing her arms as if trying to ward off an unseen chill.

"Come on, don't be such a scaredy-cat! There's absolutely no way we can go back now; the bus is scheduled to arrive here next week, and we wouldn't want to miss out on all the excitement that lies ahead," Sita replied, her tone teasing yet firm, as she rolled her eyes at Aravali's dramatics.

"Oh noooooo," Aravali exclaimed, throwing her hands up in exaggerated despair, her voice rising in pitch as she leaned back slightly, embodying the very essence of theatricality.

"Enough with the theatrics already! We need to focus and figure out where on earth that Maajaan house is located," Iaa interjected, her voice sharp and commanding, cutting through the playful banter with a sense of urgency.

"Alright, alright, just give me a moment," Aravali said, finally breaking free from her dramatic facade, her expression shifting to one of determination as she began to gather her thoughts and search for the information they needed.

While they were deciphering the details of the map, an unsettling sensation crept over them, as if they were being watched by an unseen presence lurking in the shadows, heightening their sense of unease and curiosity.

"Hey everyone, I can't shake this feeling that something significant is here. It's almost like a sixth sense," said Shiva, her eyes scanning the surroundings with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

"I sense it too, but we really need to locate that house first; the sun is setting, and we don't want to be caught out here in the dark," Sita replied, her voice steady yet laced with urgency.

"Are we nearly there?" Aravali asked, her excitement bubbling over as they rounded a corner. "And look! There it is—oh my gosh, it's enormous!"

"Absolutely breathtaking," Iaa chimed in from behind, her voice filled with awe as she took in the sight.

Shiva and Sita stood momentarily speechless, their mouths agape at the sheer size and grandeur of the house before them.

"Alright, let's not waste any more time. We need to get inside and explore," Iaa urged, her determination evident as she stepped forward, ready to uncover the mysteries that awaited them within those walls.

As they stepped into the dimly lit ,house a shiver ran down their spines as they realized the lights were completely off. With a sense of trepidation, they switched on their flashlights, the beams cutting through the darkness like tiny beacons of hope. "Hello! Is anyone here?" Shiva called out, her voice echoing slightly in the stillness, a mix of curiosity and apprehension lacing her tone.

"Hey, let's keep it down for now. We should explore quietly," Iaa suggested, her eyes scanning the shadowy corners of the room. "Aravali, you come with me. Sita and Shiva, you two take the other side. If you find anything strange or unusual, make sure to call out to us immediately," she instructed, her voice firm yet encouraging.

"Okay, we will," replied Shiva and Sita in unison, their hearts racing with a blend of excitement and nervousness as they prepared to delve deeper into the mysteries that awaited them within the house's walls.

As they ventured deeper into the house, their curiosity grew with each step, and they began to uncover the vastness of the estate. To their astonishment, they discovered that the house boasted an impressive total of 50 rooms, each with its own unique character and charm. Among these rooms, there were 15 bathrooms, each adorned with vintage fixtures and intricate tile work that hinted at the house's storied past. They marveled at the three balconies that offered breathtaking views of the sprawling grounds, perfect for enjoying the gentle breeze and the sounds of nature.

The centerpiece of the house was a magnificent pool, glistening under the faint light that filtered through the dusty windows, inviting them to imagine the lively gatherings that once took place there. They also stumbled upon a spacious meeting room, likely used for important discussions and gatherings, and a cozy living room that exuded warmth and comfort, filled with plush furniture and elegant decor.

As they continued their exploration, they found not one, but two kitchens, each equipped with antique appliances and charming details that spoke of countless meals prepared within their walls. The two pantries were stocked with remnants of the past, filled with jars and containers that hinted at the house's former inhabitants.

Three store rooms, filled with forgotten treasures and dusty relics, piqued their interest, while the enormous garden outside beckoned them with its wild beauty, a testament to the once meticulously maintained landscape. As they approached the final room, a sense of anticipation filled the air, and they exchanged excited glances, knowing that they were about to uncover the last piece of this grand puzzle. When they finally reunited, their hearts raced with the thrill of discovery, eager to share their findings and delve deeper into the mysteries that awaited them within the house's walls.

"Did you notice anything unusual?" Shiva inquired, her voice laced with curiosity.

"Well, I did come across some rather peculiar things, like a piece of chocolate that looked like it had seen better days," Aravali replied, chuckling lightly, while Iaa shot her a skeptical glance. "Oh, my bad! Please, go on," she added, waving her hand dismissively.

"Honestly, nothing too out of the ordinary so far—just some tattered clothes and rooms that look like they've been untouched for ages. We only have this last room to check," Iaa explained, her brow furrowing slightly in concentration.

"Alright then, let's venture into this room together and see what we can find," Shiva suggested, her excitement bubbling beneath the surface as she led the way.

They all stepped into the room, and to their surprise, it was impeccably clean and tidy. There were no bugs, no insects, and no cobwebs in sight. Instead, their eyes were drawn to a beautifully arranged four-seater table, adorned with four flickering candles that cast a warm glow across the space. But what truly caught their attention was the striking detail that made their hearts race: their names were elegantly inscribed on the table!

"Guys, did you see that? Why is our name written on it?" Aravali exclaimed, her voice trembling with a mix of excitement and fear. "OMG, OMG, I should not have come here! I am leaving right now!" Just as she turned to make her escape, the door to the room suddenly slammed shut behind her, causing her to jump in fright.

Standing in the doorway was a man in his early 50s, his presence imposing and mysterious. Aravali's eyes widened in terror as she caught sight of him, and in her panic, she convinced herself that he must be a ghost. Overwhelmed by fear, she fainted, collapsing to the floor in a heap.

Shiva, who had been watching the scene unfold, felt her anger boil over. "What the hell is going on here?" she shouted, her voice echoing in the now tense atmosphere. "Who are you? You better tell me right now, or I swear I'll kick your ass right here!" Her fists clenched at her sides, ready to defend her friends.

The stranger chuckled softly, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "You are just like your parents, Shiva," he said, his tone teasing yet enigmatic.

"Huh?" she replied, taken aback by his words, confusion washing over her.

"I'll explain everything, but first, let's bring her back to consciousness," the stranger said, nodding towards Aravali, who lay unconscious on the floor. The tension in the room hung thick in the air, a mixture of curiosity and apprehension as they awaited the unfolding of this unexpected encounter.
