Chapter 3 - chapter3 a clash of knight and wizard

The world broke.

The world broke and Ozpin could do nothing but watch.

It started with a loud bang that penetrated through everyone's body as if the world fired a gun inside everyone's head. Ozpin could feel it heralded the end of something.

Next came the shaking. Oh the shaking. The ground shook with enough force to throw everyone onto the ground. Cries and screams echo around the auditorium as the faculty try to stand up and reassure the students.

"Students! Do not panic! This is just a quake! Stick with your teams and stay safe!"

Glynda was the first to get her bearings as she tries to reassure the students. But try as she might, everyone knows this is not just an ordinary quake. After all, a quake would not come from one person. The source? Jaune Arc.

A Semblance? No, a Semblance would never feel like magic is in the air but that opens up another round of questions. Mainly, what in the world is Jaune Arc doing with magic? How does he have magic? But these questions would have to be answered later because as he watches his new student glow brightly, they lock eyes and Ozpin could see the fear in his wide blue eyes.

Yet Ozpin could do nothing as he watches his student glow, as he watches even the air around him shake, and finally he watches as reality shattered like glass.

A star. A star erupts right through Mr. Arc, tearing the fabric of reality as a roar instantaneously floods everyone's ears. Ozpin is horrified for a moment on what could have happened to Mr. Arc but he was being preoccupied by something else. It was a call.

A passionate call that overtook everything else he was feeling. For a moment the call catches all of his attention. Hope, passion, and righteous fury rises up from his heart before he manages to shake it off.

That was dangerous. Without his lifetimes worth of experience he would have been swept along like the others currently are.

Blocking the light from his eyes, Ozpin could already see everyone around him blankly gazing at the light. Even his own faculty looks enraptured at the sight.

He couldn't blame any of them either because the sight that greets him sends shock and awe to his core.

Clank!

A warrior glowing like the sun steps out of the tear in reality while holding his greatsword with two hands. Covered from head to toe in steel like a knight of old, the figure clanks as his feet makes contact with the floor.

Eventually, the brightness dims for a moment only for it to grow again when Ozpin notices two other figures beginning to step out of the tear in reality. One noticeably larger than the other.

The following sequence of events would be something he would never forget regardless of how much longer he would live. The moment the two beings step into their reality, Ozpin felt it. Divine energy. Divine energy he won't ever forget.

His heart skips a beat as his mind goes back to the fateful day he was cursed. Two heartbeats later and he is brought back to the present when the glowing warrior twists, swings, and aims for the head of the taller creature.

Ozpin has no time for surprise as the taller creature turns into motes of dark light before streaking into the distance. At the same time, the smaller creature the size of a cat or small dog turns into a lance of white light before flashing towards...him.

The last thing he sees as he feels the light knock him on his ass is the warrior's head turning towards him as the rift in reality behind him pulses and remains.

He missed.

No, it was more like just before his sword made contact with the Jabberwalker's neck dark light swallowed it in an instant before it disappeared in specks of light.

There was no contact, he hit nothing but air. The Jabberwalker was not dead despite his best efforts yet his fight was not over yet. The Curious Cat was still here.

Tensing his Aura to take any blows for him, Jaune prepares to take a hit and counterattack. Sensing the lack of attack after a heartbeat of inaction, he begins to turn and sees at the corner of his eye something he does not expect.

The Curious Cat turned into a lance of light only to slam straight into Ozpin. Ozpin who should be dead and inside Oscar. It takes a moment for Jaune to realize the implication but when it does, his arms go limp in relief.

It worked. It actually worked. He's in the past. Just after Beacon's Initiation to be exact. There was no other time more perfect for him than the time Team JNPR was formed.

Speaking of JNPR he shakily turns to look for them...only he doesn't get the chance to because the next thing he knows the floor he was standing on was breaking apart covered in violet light. Staggering from the sudden loss of footing, he finds himself instantly covered in darkness.

"-back! Everyone get back!"

Glynda. That was Glynda Ozpin thinks to himself. He shakes the dizziness out of his head to assess the situation only to see a pair of cyan colored eyes and white pupils.

He blinks. The eyes blink. Then Ozpin realizes the eyes belong to a cat. A multicolored cat currently sitting on his chest. For some strange reason however, he feels...something for this cat. Like a bond or a tether. Strange.

"Hello. Is this Remnant?"

It is a testament to all the bullshit his life has been throughout the millenia that he blurts out a reply without hesitation.

"Yes. Yes it is."

"Ozpin! A little help here!"

Right, he still had a situation to resolve. Seeing the cat isn't being hostile right now he could deal with it later. Right now, he could already see Glynda struggling to contain the knight in a cocoon of floor and furniture.

"Can't you control his armor?! Drag him to the ground?!" Ozpin shouts as he waves the cat off of him.

"I can't! My Semblance can't take control, his Aura is too thick and strong. He's keeping it active all throughout his body!" Glynda yells back with some difficulty.

He'd have to thank her quick thinking. Using her surroundings instead of relying on her Semblance. They can't let a violent warrior loose with their students exposed after all.

He stands up as the cat leaps off of him only to see light pouring out of the cocoon Glynda has trapped the warrior in.

"That's not gonna hold him." The cat remarks.

"You know him?" Ozpin tilts his head at its direction.

"Unfortunately."

Ozpin's eyes widen as the cat turns larger, more fearsome with its longer claws and teeth, its color turning from cyan-purple into stripes of black and white.

"Don't let him gain momentum or he'll roll over you." The cat adds just as it starts to charge the armored knight the same time Glynda's efforts fail.

It was sound advice, Ozpin could admit, but he refuses to follow as the knight breaks through Glynda's containment, sending chunks of floor and cement through the air.

Yet as the knight notices the cat and charges forward himself, Ozpin's body goes into overdrive. Alarm bells ringing in his head as a gut feeling snaps into place. The feeling that if the cat is in danger then he's in danger.

Ozpin has no time to be suspicious of this feeling because before he knows it, his body is already moving to follow the cat. Experience and the small use of his remaining magic allows him to boost himself to catch up just as the cat clashes with the warrior.

Claw meets sword in a shower of sparks just as Ozpin's cane snakes out to disarm the knight of his greatsword. Yet the warrior refuses to let it go with a fight as instead of blocking the cat's attack directly, he parries it right into Ozpin's line of attack.

Ozpin grunts as the move nearly launches his cane off of his hand and pushes him to the side but he isn't worried of any follow-up attack. True to his expectations, Glynda was already there to ward off any advances while launching chunks of the floor into the warrior.

"He's strong."

"I can see that, Ozpin."

Yes, they can actually see that as the knight cuts through the flying blocks of stone with judicious use of his Greatsword. He swung his blade in impressive arcs all the while using the weight and momentum of the sword to turn and swing again and again, all the while gaining more and more speed and power. Fragments and shrapnel fly off towards the nearby students surrounding them that Glynda has to stop her attack lest they endanger the children more.

"Any plans?"

"Keep the students back but do what you can to stop him from gaining momentum."

And just like that Ozpin charges back into the fray, ducking under a swing, right after the cat engages the warrior again. He knows this is unwise. They have no quarrel or hatred with this warrior other than him interrupting their ceremony and being violent towards his fellow trespasser.

It certainly does not merit the aggressiveness Ozpin currently has towards him.

Usually he would be more cautious when encountering unknown factors like this, observing first to gather information before employing diplomacy to determine their allegiance if any.

However, all that cautiousness seems to have went out the window this time. There could only be one explanation for this. His bond with the cat. Whatever it is, it urges him not to leave the cat in danger. It is definitely strange, unnatural, and could only be magical.

Despite all the strangeness however, he has no time to think about it as he is embroiled in a storm of light, steel, and claw.

Aura bursts forth in a shower of blue light as he lands consecutive hits yet for each hit he lands...the warrior just shrugs it off like nothing as his Aura covers him in a thick protective layer. Content to ignore him, the knight continues to swing his greatsword against the bigger threat. The currently white enlarged cat.

Sparks fly as sword meets claws in a flurry of blows and Ozpin is ashamed to say that it feels like he is more of a nuisance to them both rather than an active participant.

He isn't weak. Far from it. He's strong. It's just his current body's fighting style is ill-suited to combat this type of opponent. What good can his speed do if most of his attacks can't even hurt his opponent?

As it is, he has to use the energy stored in Long Memory to even hurt the warrior. Bursts of magic allows his strikes to have explosive strength strong enough to stagger him.

Grunts from the knight confirm it as Ozpin's strikes actually almost sends the sword flying, allowing the cat to deliver a heavy blow to his ribs that almost makes him kneel. Yet that only works for the first time as the knight has now stopped ignoring Ozpin's attacks.

As Ozpin swings his cane towards their foe's side at the same time the cat was moving for an overhead slam, the knight does an outstanding move that even he could admit was beautiful.

Holding his sword down vertically to block Ozpin's strike first, the knight uses the momentum of the hit to agilely twist away from the cat's line of attack with phenomenal footwork. Not stopping there, he uses the force of his spin to raise his sword high over his head and slash it downwards towards the cat.

That should have been the end of it. The cat should have been bisected from shoulder to hip then and there but something pulls from inside Ozpin. Instead of making contact with the cat, the sword slams into a green forcefield made up of his magic.

Credit where credit is due however, the force of the slash still travels towards the cat as it is slammed and bounced onto the ground away from their battle. Cracking the flower nad knocking the cat into a crowd of students. Not willing the knight to gain more momentum, Ozpin takes the initiative to strike before his foe could regain his stance.

Yet whoever taught the knight must have taught him more than just swordsmanship and footwork because he catches Ozpin's cane with a hand covered in Aura. Ozpin's eyes widen as he is suddenly pulled in closer and his gut makes contact with the hilt of a sword.

Aura taking the brunt of the blow meant that instead of doubling over in pain, Ozpin could still fight albeit a bit breathless.

Instantly moving to regain the initiative, Ozpin uses his left hand to hold the knight in place by grabbing the wrist of the hand holding the sword. This close to him, Ozpin could see glowing blue eyes staring straight back at him from behind the helmet.

He pulls energy from Long Memory on his right hand to convert into magic before letting the cane go. He then lets his hand now covered in a condensed ball of green magic move forward to strike the knight in the chest.

A chest that now seems unreachable as his hand is now being deflected into his own face by Long Memory itself. Experience saves him at the last moment from a very painful explosion to the face as he detonates the magic right in the middle of them before it could completely reach him.

The magic explodes in a cloud of green fire that still launches Ozpin right into Glynda who barely manages to catch him using her Semblance, yet the attack has landed.

"Did you get him?"

Ozpin could have clicked his tongue at Glynda at that if he wasn't so busy trying to regain his breath. Doesn't she know that saying words like those just makes it certain that they didn't get him?

Superstitious, he knows. But the Gods are real and he's lived long enough to witness that there might just be some correlation with certain words to certain results. He's entitled to some superstitions.

Clank!

The sound confirms it as the knight walks out of the cloud of smoke covered in glowing blue Aura.

Instead of continuing hostilities however, the knight just looks at them as he holds his sword downward with the tip touching the ground in one hand and Long Memory on his shoulders held by the other.

"What are you?"

The words come out of Ozpin's mouth before he could stop it. He couldn't help it. His last attack wasn't his strongest but the explosion of magic should have put him on his knees or at least pushed him backward. Yet standing there silently in front of them, the knight looks like he wasn't even injured.

Instead of words, Ozpin is surprised to see the knight throw Long Memory high up in the air back to him. It seems the knight isn't that hostile to them despite Ozpin's action.

Yet he freezes when glowing blue eyes from behind the helmet lock eyes with him just as he catches his cane before saying the next heart stopping words.

"Tell me, Ozpin. What's your favorite fairytale?"

A beat. A moment. A second.

And then-

Bang!

"Tell me, Ozpin. What's your favorite fairytale?"

That...was amazing!

Satisfaction bursts forth from his chest as he utters those words with a straight voice despite the grin on his face. He always wondered how ot would feel like to say those words. And being able to say that to Ozpin of all people? Priceless.

Adrenaline still pumping in his bloodstream, Jaune thinks back to the fight and ran everything from start to finish.

It was close. It was really really close no matter how hard he tried to seem unaffected! There were a lot of times he thought he was going to lose but it was still awesome!

Jaune didn't think he could move like that but with a body just coming into its prime coupled with years of experience, it was awesome!

But however awesome he might be, experience and a good body would have come short against both the Curious Cat and Ozpin together. There was definitely something more that contributed to his victory.

Before he stepped foot in the past he would have already have had his hands full fighting the cat alone. Even with his years of experience he wpuld have lost in a battle of pure skill against Ozpin alone. Something happened to him when they broke the barrier and crossed back into the past.

After sharing his Aura with both the Curious Cat and the Jabberwalker and amplifying their divinity, he felt his soul latch onto something. When he pulled it back after arriving in Remnant it felt as if...his Aura took something with it. The result was phenomenal.

His Aura was stronger. His mind just a bit faster. His reflexes sharper. But more importantly, something he noticed during Ozpin's last attack, he could now feel magic.

It wasn't something he noticed immediately but the moment Ozpin pulled energy from his cane, Jaune felt it. He felt the energy turning into magic and bursting into existence right in front of him. Instinct, panic, and desperation made him parry it with the only thing he could. The cane held in his hand.

He felt the magic compress for a moment before rapidly expanding into an explosion. His Aura automatically reacting to the perceived threat gave him time to amplify himself with his Semblance. It saved him from losing.

Yet he knew that if his Aura was just a bit weaker or his Semblance just a bit slower, he would have eaten that explosion head on and would probably be already on his back.

Luckily for him, that didn't happen. His Aura held. His Semblanced reinforced him in time. And because of that he's the one standing victorious and looking down on a kneeling Ozpin supported by Glynda Goodwitch.

The implication slams into him a second later. He, Jaune Arc, went up against the Curious Cat and Headmaster Ozpin who was supported by Glynda Goodwitch. He, Jaune Arc, won that fight.

To them, he must have looked like an invincible opponent and Jaune can't help the boost that image gave him. He just wishes that somebody would stop shooting him right now.

The first shot made him flinch but it made him realize that right now, those shots can't even go through his Aura. And any Aura he loses is just replenished by his Semblance. It isn't so far to say that right now, Jaune Arc was invincible.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Jaune's closes his eyes as he sighs and sinks himself into memory. He knew the sound of those shots. To him, it's been years since he heard the sound produced by that gun. It was a sniper rifle. He knew that sniper rifle. He kept it safe and maintained back in the Ever After after all. Only one person could use that gun like that.

True to form, he hears her voice.

"Stop right there, villain! Team...team...Weiss, what's our team name?" Ruby Rose, his best friend says in that nostalgic high pitched voice of hers while ending in a poor attempt of a whisper.

"You dolt! We aren't a team yet! We don't have a team name." Weiss Schnee, Snow Angel, replies and Jaune could already imagine her brandishing Myrtenaster against him even with his eyes closed.

"Come on. Weiss-cream. We're the only ones left without a team. The four of us will obviously be one." Yang Xiao Long, sunny and jovial Yang Xiao Long drawls out as Jaune hears the click of Ember Cilica getting ready for battle.

"I mean, she's not wrong. Going by the way things we're going we were obviously going to be a team. What's our team name though?" Blake Belladonna, quiet and mysterious Blake pipes up as the answer to her question slips out of Jaune's mouth.

"Team RWBY."

He hears gasps sound out and he finally opens his eyes to look at them. Standing in front of him in battle stances and blocking Ozpin from his sight, he sees four familiar faces that brings tears to his eyes. He can't help the whisper that comes out of his mouth.

"...I finally made it."

He sees Blake's Faunus ears, still covered by a ribbon, twitch at that. Figures that she'll be the only to hear it even if it isn't completely.

"How do you know our names?!" Blake yells at him with narrowed eyes. Jaune panics and says the first thing that comes to mind.

"Red, White, Black, and Yellow." He points to Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang as he says the color of their clothes.

Silence envelops them before Yang just shrugs casually.

"Huh, what a strange coincidence."

"Team RWBY... I like it!" Ruby says in a happy voice that he hasn't heard in a long time.

"Well I don't! Why do you get to be the leader?!" Weiss replies in a cold voice that surprises even Jaune.

Ah. He forgot that Weiss did have issues with having the younger Ruby as her leader at the start of their Beacon Days.

"What? You want us to be called Team WRBY? Warboys, Weiss-cream?"

"Focus! We still have a fight in our hands."

Jaune's eyes snap wide in panic as he sees them tense up at that. No, Blake, no. You do not have a fight in your hands because Jaune refuses to fight you!

Breathing becomes harder and his hands start to shake at the thought of fighting them. Orange hair, green eyes, and a broken bloody sword fills his vision.

Oh Gods no, anything but fighting them please.

Lady Blacksmith must really love answering his prayers because the next thing he knows the tear in reality behind him explodes with power as a ghostly tree suddenly appears inside the hall while it's avatar appears silhouetted by a bright light.

The Tree's roots branch out yet they do not damage anything. Instead they seem to phase through everything with even the Tres's trunk growing upwards and passing through the roof without any trouble before, in an instant, the whole Tree disappears.

Yet Jaune knew the truth with his new found sensitivity. Magic was in the air as Lady Blacksmith steps through the tear in reality that has now become a door.

"Hark, Remnant! I give thee thy Rusted Knight!"

Dramatic much, but who is he to judge how a Goddess likes her entrance. It does get everyone to gasp at her. Who knows whether its by her appearance or words however.

"My Lady." He nods in response, thankful at least that he doesn't have to fight Team RWBY now that they are gaping at the both of them.

"What?! Do you actually expect us to believe that you're a fairytale character made real?!" Weiss screeches at them and he can't blame her for her disbelief. Murmurs sound out from all around them as everyone does find it hard to believe. However...

"Considering we just walked out of a tear on reality..." Jaune shrugs casually staring straight at Weiss, causing her to freeze up.

"...I mean, he's got a point." Trust Ruby to back him up even if unknowingly.

"Shut up, dolt! I refuse to believe he's the Rusted Knight. The Rusted Knight uses a sword and shield while he's obviously using a Greatsword!"

In response he disables Crocea Mors' Greatsword mode and holds the now harmless sheathe with his hand. In one smooth motion, he withdraws the blade and unfurls the shield.

Gasps ring out and he already knows why. Twin golden arcs shine brightly from his shield.

"Y-you're an Arc?" Weiss stutters at the sudden turn of events.

"Still don't believe me?" Jaune ignores Weiss' question, not willing to confirm or deny anything regarding his identity just yet.

"That right there is the Curious Cat." He continues, pointing towards the Cat now smaller and limping behind Team RWBY towards Ozpin.

Freezing at the sudden attention, the Cat turns towards him and chuckles nervously.

"Mercy?"

That almost actually managed to pop one of his blood vessels.

"Mercy? You dare ask mercy from me?" Jaune hisses as he clenches his sword tightly.

This understandably makes everyone nervous as Team RWBY brandishes their weapons again after sensing his hostility.

"This doesn't make sense. The Rusted Knight and the Curious Cat traveled with Alyx. They should have been friends." Blake states as she stands in front of the Cat, blocking his sight of it.

"...There is more to the story than what you know." Jaune replies with a grim tone after a pause.

Tension spikes up as the two sides stare unsurely at each other. Jaune's heart beat rapidly in his chest. It's been years since he saw them and the first thing they're gonna do is fight? Luckily for him, he doesn't have to.

"Peace, Rusted Knight...There has been a development."

The Blacksmith's melodic voice cuts through tension in the auditorium.

"What kind of development?" He asks after turning to look at the Blacksmith at the corner of his eyes.

"The Brothers and I...have made a wager."

That, understandably shocks everyone even more.

"Did she just say the Brothers?!"

"The Brothers are real?!"

"What the hell is she if she could make a wager with the Brothers?!"

"...Is that even a she?"

Conversations flow through all around them and yet Jaune is focused on one thing.

"What's the wager?"

"...Part of the wager is not telling you what it is right now."

His brows furrow inside his helmet as he stands down to focus his complete attention on the Blacksmith.

"Then what could you tell me?"

"I could tell you that the Curious Cat and the Jabberwalker are now bonded to their own creator's champion."

"I see...and what does that have to do with me?"

"Because you cannot kill the Cat."

"What?! Why not?!"

"Balance, my champion. Remember why I sent you here. Do you believe eliminating the Cat together with their champion would bring balance right now?"

If the Cat dies now that they've bonded with Ozpin, does that mean his soul won't reincarnate if Ozpin dies? If so, a world without Ozpin would surely leave Salem unchecked. No balance at all.

"Then what do I do now?" He asks pleadingly.

"Nothing. Continue as you were and do what you were already planning to do. Although..."

"Although what?"

"Now that Dark and Light's champions have their own partners, you should have a partner of your own."

Jaune's heart stops at that final word. There is only one person he would ever think of as his partner. Slowly, Jaune's eyes roam the field for the one he was subconsciously avoiding. His eyes do not travel far once he notices her behind the blacksmith, even behind the now closing portal.

Blue eyes meet green and he sees her freeze when he focuses on him. His world narrows only to the two of them and his feet take him past the Blacksmith to come closer to her. He is stopped however, by the most unlikeliest of all people.

"I know my partner's amazing and all, but this one's mine! Get your own Pyrrha!"

Young Jaune Arc barks from behind Pyrrha Nikos. Staring right at him, the boy puts a hand on Pyrrha's shoulder as he walks past her to stand shakily but protectively in front of her.

Ah, right. His own Pyrrha. His own Pyrrha is dead. Jaune's heart breaks as he stares at the sight of his younger self together with his whole team. What did he think would happen? He would time travel, replace his past self, and live happily ever after? It seems deals with gods will always have snags even if it is with Lady Blacksmith. No matter, he just has to make sure that this Pyrrha lives. His thoughts are interrupted however by a smiling Blacksmith.

"Do not worry, my champion. I have just the perfect partner for you."

Water.

Her last view was sunlight under the water. When she crashed straight into the lake, she thought it was over. Battered, bruised, and tired, she had no strength left to swim to safety.

With nothing left to give, she accepted her fate. Perhaps this time she'll be reunited with-

And then her eyes opened and instead of darkness or water she saw a ceiling above her.

"Hello, traveler! You're finally awake!" A voice sounds out from beside her and she turns to look only to see a star-shaped crystal waving at her.

She blinks. The crystal doesn't blink but instead continues.

"Are you alright? You fell into the lake and Juniper over there dove to save you."

Turning towards the direction the star-shaped crystal was pointing, she sees the cutest thing ever.

A jackalope. A giant jackalope pokes its head inside the room she is currently in from outside the window.

Neopolitan meets Juniper for the first time.

"I still can't believe the Rusted Knight is real!" Blake squeals excitedly as she walks with her team toward their next class.

"I'm just glad it's combat class now. Though... I didn't think you could be this excited, partner. I thought you were all quiet and mysterious." Yang yawns beside her.

"You don't understand, Yang! It's the Rusted Knight!" Blake replies.

"I know right! He's like the first Huntsman! Fighting against the Jabberwalker and protecting Alyx throughout their travels in the Ever After! I wonder what he talked about with the Headmaster?" Ruby adds in suppport as they reach the door to their locker room, thinking about yesterday when the Rusted Knight followed Headmaster Ozpin to talk in privacy.

"Are you really still talking about the Rusted Knight?" Weiss scowls, annoyed at how much they've been talking about him since last night and even this morning.

"Ahhh, lay off of them, Weiss-cream. You can't tell me you didn't imagine the Rusted Knight sweeping you off your feet and taking you away from all those stuffy parties you were forced to attend when you were a kid." Yang grins back at her while changing into her battle clothes.

"I-that-that's not the point!" Weiss stutters with a blush on her face to the amusement of her teammates before continuing.

"The point is there's something bigger than Rusted Knight to talk about. You heard what the metal lady said. The Brother Gods are real and they've made a wager." She frowns as she finishes wearing her battle dress.

"Right, then there's something about what the Rusted Knight said. There's more to their story than what we know." Blake furrows her brows as she follows Weiss to wait for the others.

"Hey, if the Rusted Knight is real...what other fairy tales do you think could actually be true?" Ruby asks quietly as she joins the rest of her team in waiting for Yang to finish.

"Ahhh. Don't sweat it you three. I'm sure the Headmaster is on top of it. I'm more concerned if we could get to fight the Rusted Knight." Yang casually sas as she strolls up to them while patting down her long hair.

"Yang! He kicked the Headmaster's butt and you want to fight him?!" Ruby states incredulously as they begin walking towards the classroom.

"The dolt is right. No matter how heroic he might seem in the stories, he's dangerous. He said it himself, there's more to the story than what we know." Weiss adds up, glancing at the stage before approaching their seats.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but the Schnee is right. Loath as I am to agree, it is unwise to seek a fight with the Rusted Knight." Blake nods back, seeing Team JNPR enter just as they were about to take their seats.

"Meh, he didn't seem that dangerous to me. He did kick the Headmaster's butt but it didn't look like he was really trying to injure him." Yang shrugs back as she casually waves to get Team JNPR's attention.

And then the oddest thing happened.

Clank! Clank! Clank!

The sound of metallic steps echo loudly as all conversation stops when the Rusted Knight himself, covered from head to toe in cleaner and shinier armor, enters the room with Glynda Goodwitch.

"Students, meet your newest instructor. He will be assisting me in handling your Combat Class from now on."

Author's Notes:

Hey everyone! So there was a lot of confusion on my last chapter. I don't blame you but allow me to clarify a few things.

This isn't a reaction fic. This is still a Time Travel fic. I just needed a way to take team RWBY off of the story for awhile and I came to a thought, why not put them in another fic entirely. And thus, the reaction fic idea and eventually turning them into something similar to Loki's TVA in the future. If you've got questions, just ask. But before that, I've got a question for you. Who do you think Older Jaune's Partner is going to be?

Like the chapter? Consider supporting me so I could write more at a quicker pace without the worry of starving to death.
