Kai and Noa stand under flickering neon lights. The sounds of bass and voices echo through the building.
Noa:
"You're sure she's here?"
Kai:
"She's not hiding. People like her don't need to."
[SCENE 2: INSIDE THE CLUB]
VEE stands at the center of attention. Men and women alike are drawn to her — touching her arms, leaning into her. But her eyes are hollow, observant, guarded.
Lust swirls in the air like perfume. Her Vein power of heartbreak fuels the manipulation — drawing others in, but never feeling a thing herself.
Kai and Noa push through the crowd.
Kai (firmly):
"That's enough."
The lust breaks. For a moment, Vee looks surprised.
Vee
"…You're not affected?"
Kai:
"I see more than what you show."
[SCENE 3: A QUIET BOOTH]
They talk. Vee opens up slightly.
Explains how she endured heartbreak so deeply that she stopped feeling anything when touching others.
Her power was born from that pain — from needing people, but never being able to connect again.
Vee:
"…There was someone once. They said they loved me.
They didn't mean it.
A beat of silence.
Noa:
"You deserve better."
Vee nods — softly.
Vee (lightly):
"You're lucky. You got to him first."
Kai:
"…What?"
Vee:
"Nothing.
She leans forward.
Vee:
"If you're really gathering people, there's someone else."
[SCENE 4: FLASHBACK – JET'S CLUB INCIDENT]
Broken glass. Screams. Someone tries to smash a bottle over Jet's head — it shatters, but Jet doesn't flinch.
Blood drips down his temple.
Telekinesis lifts chairs, drinks, bones — Jet hurls a man across the club with his mind.
Vee (VO):
"He's Hollow. Gave up the ability to feel pain.
Now he craves it from others.
You might find him where things break."
[SCENE 5: ABANDONED PARKING GARAGE — NIGHT]
Floating debris. Bent metal. A faint hum of energy. They find Jet shirtless, bruised, and smiling — blood leaking from wounds he doesn't notice.
Jet:
"So you're the Embraced."
Kai:
"…You know?"
Jet (grinning):
"Everyone's whispering.
I wanna see how you break."
Noa:
"He's serious—"
Kai:
"Let him."
[SCENE 6: SPARRING MATCH]
A brutal, fast-paced fight. Jet's telekinesis is wild, powerful, uncontrolled. Kai absorbs it mid-combat — using it to push Jet back.
Jet crashes into a wall. Laughs.
Jet (bleeding):
"…You're fun."
Kai (panting):
"You done?"
Jet (getting up):
"…Nah.
I'm in."
[SCENE 7: BACK TO THE GROUP]
Kai, Noa, Vee, and Jet walk together under the moonlight. A strange silence between them.
Kai (narrating):
"We weren't friends yet.
We weren't even a team.
But we were the ones who didn't break.
And that was enough… for now."
