Chapter 227 - Chapter 227: Close-Combat Taijutsu Battle

Since he had already been exposed, Hyūga Shigeo decided there was no point in hiding anymore. Whatever happened next—he'd take it as it came.

"Rariatto! (Lariat!)"

He didn't actually know the full mechanics of the technique—but pretending was second nature by now.

He let his chakra explode outward, lightning sparking through every vein of his body as Raiton (Lightning Release) coursed through his muscles. His strength surged as he charged forward.

It was a true head-on clash—body against body, chakra against chakra!

BOOM!

The impact echoed through the entire dojo.

Because of their height difference, Shigeo's elbow slammed square into Killer B's abdomen, while his head narrowly avoided B's own lariat-swinging arm.

Even so, the sheer aftershock of B's Rariatto distorted Shigeo's face as if the air itself had slapped him.

Their stances were awkward—Shigeo's entire body tilted, one foot grounded while the other hovered mid-air.

It was a poor position—one that drained power. He should've only been able to exert a third of his real strength.

But in that instant, he released all the chakra he'd been suppressing.

"Guh—!"

Killer B's mouth gaped open, his sunglasses flying off his face as the shockwave blew through him.

A burst of hot air escaped his lips, and his eyes went wide in disbelief at the small figure before him.

"Y-Yooo… that ain't the Rariatto!"

Shigeo straightened his stance, brushing dust from his clothes.

"No. It isn't."

"Who are you?" the two Cloud guards shouted in unison.

But Shigeo didn't even glance their way—his gaze stayed locked on Killer B, a faint, knowing smile curling at his lips.

B raised a hand, signaling the others to hold back. He rolled his shoulders, stretching his massive arms.

"Yooo… you hit my weak spot, dodged my strong one—smart move, smart groove!

No one interrupt! This dance ain't over, oh yeah!"

"Thanks for the compliment." Shigeo's smirk widened. He raised an arm in invitation. "Your move."

Killer B grinned ear to ear. He didn't care who his opponent was. Someone strong enough to challenge him head-on was all that mattered.

The two launched themselves at each other again.

No ninjutsu this time—just pure taijutsu (hand-to-hand combat) and kenjutsu (swordsmanship).

And in that domain, Killer B was among the best in the world.

If one sword wasn't enough, he'd use two.

If two weren't enough, he'd use three.

Shigeo's swordsmanship wasn't as refined, but his speed was unmatched, and his perception sharp as a hawk.

Their chakra levels were even now—he'd made sure of that out of respect for his opponent.

No bijū (Tailed Beast) power, no overwhelming advantage—just strength against strength.

Clang!

The dojo wall split open from the sheer pressure of their blows.

Sword arcs sliced through the air—steel blurred into silver light.

The watching shinobi couldn't even see their movements anymore—only sparks bursting in rapid succession.

Pieces of the wall collapsed.

One of the two Cloud guards glanced at the other, panic flickering in his eyes.

"We have to report this to Lord Raikage. If anything happens, we'll be blamed!"

The other nodded and slipped out silently while the clash intensified.

Clang! Clang! Clash!

Steel shrieked as the weapons met—

When B pulled a fourth sword into his hands, Shigeo's blade began to crack under the relentless pressure.

It wasn't a real weapon—just a transformed construct created through chakra, and its limits were showing.

With a sharp clang, it shattered completely, leaving only the hilt.

Shigeo tossed the broken handle aside and drew two kunai instead, spinning them between his fingers before rushing back into combat.

The dojo floor cracked beneath their feet as they traded blows at blistering speed.

Fists, elbows, blades, kicks—every move flowed like a violent dance.

Samui and Karui stood frozen at the edge of the room, unable to process what they were seeing.

"They're too fast…" Samui whispered.

"I can't even tell what's happening!" Karui gasped.

BAM!

Shigeo leapt into the air, twisting mid-spin—his kick smashed square into B's jaw, sending the giant stumbling back several steps.

Instead of anger, B's grin widened, wild and excited.

"Yooo! That's what I'm talkin' about! Oh yeah!"

A fifth sword flashed into his hand.

The two kunai in Shigeo's grip chipped and bent from the next impact.

He sighed softly. "Then… I'll use this."

A ripple of black sand condensed around his arm, forming into a sleek, obsidian blade—Jiton: Magnetic Sword.

"Is that acceptable?"

"Of course it is, oh yeah!"

B lunged. Seven swords now spun around his body, turning him into a whirling storm of steel and motion.

Each slash hummed with deadly rhythm, forcing Shigeo back step by step.

But just when it seemed B had the upper hand—

Shigeo vanished.

A heartbeat later, he reappeared behind the jinchūriki, his magnetic sword whirling in a spiral.

A sharp metallic crack rang through the night—four of B's seven swords went flying into the air.

B grunted, kicking upward, his toes hooking the hilts mid-air and flicking them back into his grasp.

Now all seven blades glimmered once again, as faint traces of bijū chakra began to radiate from his skin.

"Yo… time to go turbo, oh yeah!"

If B was using the Eight-Tails' chakra, then Shigeo wouldn't hold back either.

His own chakra surged—his aura flaring as the ground beneath him cracked.

The two figures blurred, disappearing from sight.

Only the echoes of steel and sparks filled the night.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

From sunset to midnight they fought—Raiton against Jiton, raw muscle against raw mastery.

Lightning and magnetism collided in a symphony of destruction that tore through the island's forests and cliffs.

By the time they crashed out of the dojo, the battlefield had stretched from mountain slope to coastal cliffs.

Everywhere they passed, trees split in half, and shockwaves carved trenches through the ground.

Still, both men were smiling.

"Yooo! You got the moves, little dude!" B laughed between swings.

"And you're better than the rumors say," Shigeo replied, matching his grin.

The two clashed again, their chakra flaring to monstrous levels—six tails of power blazing from B's body, three from Shigeo's.

From the dojo to the sea, from noise to silence, they fought until the stars dimmed.

At last, B chuckled, panting.

"Yooo… you strong, my bro! I like you, oh yeah!

What's your name, lil' flame?"

"Hyūga Shigeo."

"Eh—wait, what!?"

B froze mid-motion, eyes wide.

The night wind blew across the shattered cliffs, carrying sparks and laughter into the dark.
