Chapter 121 – Captain Britain
Although Roy could have sent Allen and Norman to deal with Captain America, he had no intention of letting them.
He preferred to keep the distinction of killing Captain America for himself.
With Daisy watching, Roy first took out the Tesseract and asked her, "Where exactly is he?"
Daisy didn't hesitate for a second, immediately telling him Captain America's precise location.
The moment she finished, Roy activated the Tesseract.
A pitch-black "storm cloud" and silvery "lightning" instantly wrapped around him.
The next second, he vanished from Daisy's sight.
In an instant, Roy traveled from Manhattan, New York, to East London within the Greater London metropolitan area.
London and its thirty-two surrounding boroughs form Great Britain's top-level administrative division, the Greater London Authority.
The Greater London Authority is subdivided into four districts: the City of London, East London, West London, and South London.
The World-famous Buckingham Palace is not in the City of London but in West London.
The City of London is the financial and trading hub.
West London is the administrative center.
Buckingham Palace, the Prime Minister's residence, Parliament, and offices of every major government department are all located in West London.
As for East London and South London…
East London is an industrial zone and workers' residential area.
South London is a mixed commercial-and-residential district.
Last night, someone had spotted Captain America hiding inside an abandoned factory in East London.
Arriving at the derelict factory the informant had described, Roy immediately saw Captain America sitting on the factory roof.
Captain America wore a black skintight combat suit; his vibranium shield lay casually beside him, and he was nursing a bottle of cheap whisky.
The instant Roy spotted him, the Captain—drinking on the roof—also noticed Roy floating in the air by magnetic force.
Captain America looked calmly at him, raised the whisky in greeting toward the man hovering overhead.
Something felt off.
Roy frowned slightly.
He didn't waste time thinking; manipulating the magnetic field around him, he drifted down onto the roof as lightly as a falling leaf.
"Where are the rest of the Howling Commandos?"
Roy asked, his gaze fixed steadily on Captain America.
"Dealing with you doesn't require them."
Captain America casually tossed the bottle aside, picked up his vibranium shield, and rose unhurriedly.
"Looks like you've done plenty of prep work during your disappearance."
"Since you're so confident, I'll indulge you for a bit."
With that, Roy lifted his right hand and crooked a finger at Captain America.
On the surface he was merely provoking the Captain.
But that wasn't the whole story.
Besides taunting him, Roy quietly activated his Magnetism Manipulation Superpower.
Captain America instantly felt a terrifying pull; the vibranium shield tore from his grasp and shot toward Roylike a flying disc.
When the shield reached him, Roy unhurriedly raised his left hand, caught it, and tossed it into system space.
Though his shield had been snatched away in a heartbeat, Captain America's expression remained utterly calm.
What trump card had this guy prepared?
Seeing the Captain's composure, Roy grew increasingly curious about what he had up his sleeve.
Captain America paid no heed to Roy's scrutiny; glancing skyward, he said unhurriedly, "My backup's here."
Backup?
Roy followed the Captain's gaze and saw a figure hovering in the air.
Him?
Though the distance was considerable, the raptor vision granted by his angel card let him see the man clearly, and surprise flashed across his face.
Captain Britain!
Brian Braddock!
Roy had never met Captain Britain before; he recognized him solely by the uniform.
Just as Captain America's costume bore the Stars and Stripes, Captain Britain's was emblazoned with unmistakable Union Jacks.
Though surprised that Captain America's ally was Captain Britain, Roy didn't waste brainpower wondering how they'd teamed up; instead, he mentally reviewed what he knew about the hero.
Captain Britain had never appeared in the cinematic Universe, only in the comics.
In the books, Brian was born in Essex, England, earned a PhD in physics from Thames University,
and after graduation worked at the Darkmoor Research Centre.
One day the local nuclear plant was attacked, and he rode his beloved motorcycle out to get help.
On the way he crashed.
As he lay dying, the Arthurian sorcerer Merlin and Merlin's daughter Roma magically summoned him to the "Siege Perilous."
Merlin told him to choose between the enchanted sword excalibur and the amulet of right.
Bookish Brian passed over the sword and picked the seemingly more peaceful amulet of right.
The moment he rubbed the amulet, the physicist was transformed into the Guardian of the British Isles—Captain Britain.
Besides the amulet, Brian wielded a staff that could project force fields and fire.
Later Merlin swapped that staff for the star scepter, which grants flight and mystical power.
At his peak he even possessed the legendary excaliburitself, able to cleave the entire Omniverse.
Super-strength sufficient to lift a hundred tons.
Far-superior stamina and super-senses.
Flight speeds up to light itself.
Moreover, Brian can link to the multidimensional energy matrix centered on Britain, absorbing multiversal power to boost all his abilities.
Other characters have also borne the mantle of Captain Britain in the comics,
but he remains the mightiest.
Brian also has an older brother and a sister.
Both Jamie and Betsy Braddock are Mutants.
Jamie wields the power to warp reality at will, plucking and tying quantum strings to reshape existence.
He can also manipulate energy, enlarge or shrink objects, alter life-forms, teleport, resurrect, grant or strip others of powers, and more.
In raw might Jamie far outstrips his younger sister.
Yet in fame Betsy eclipses him,
for Betsy is the X-Men's Psylocke.
Before the last system upgrade, Roy had seen both Jamieand Psylocke's cards among the displayed Mutant cards.
Not only that, both Jamie and Psylocke were SSR-grade.
While Psylocke's on-screen showing had been underwhelming, in the comics she is a bona-fide Omega-Level Mutant.
After Jamie granted her resistance to reality-warping and mental control, her Telepathy evolved to Omega-Level…
Chapter 122: Death of Captain America
Captain Britain's brother Jamie and sister Betsy are Omega-Level Mutants.
His primary opponent, Jaspe (MJJ), is also an Omega-Level Mutant.
Jaspers possesses superpowers such as controlling the order of all things, infinite lifespan, and ignoring the laws and rules of space-time and the multiverse; he can erase all existence, including the multiverse, and completely destroy reality.
Or he can restart history, reverse timelines and causality, and bend, tear, or destroy space.
Not only that, he can completely destroy timelines and any dimension within the 1st to 10th dimensions, or directly erase the entire 10-dimensional Universe.
If necessary, he can also restart the multiverse.
Even among Omega-Level Mutants, Jaspers is considered part of the top tier in terms of strength.
Just like Jamie and Psylocke, before the system upgrade and revision, Roy had seen Jaspers' card among the ssr cards displayed by the system.
Jaspers' strength is beyond doubt, but his appearances in the comics are not frequent.
To give Captain Britain the strength to oppose Jaspers, the Marvel editorial department gave Captain Britain an absurdly powerful cheat.
excalibur!
To be precise, it's an excalibur with Omniversal-level power!
It is precisely because of excalibur that Captain Britainhas the strength to contend with Jaspers.
Otherwise, Jaspers would only need a single thought to completely erase Captain Britain's existence.
Roy quickly recalled all the information related to Captain Britain in his mind.
Although he hadn't expected Captain America's trump card to be Captain Britain, there was one thing he was certain of now: Captain Britain definitely didn't have excalibur right now.
Furthermore, if nothing unexpected happened, Captain Britain's strength was also far inferior to the comics.
As for why, the reason was simple.
If this Universe's Captain Britain were as strong as in the comics, he wouldn't need to join forces with Captain America at all, let alone go to the trouble of luring him to Britain.
If nothing else, if Captain Britain had his comic book strength, he would only need to demonstrate light-speed flight to gain an absolute advantage.
Under Roy's gaze, Captain Britain, wearing a tight-fitting uniform, quickly descended next to Captain America and looked at him with a serious expression.
"Do you have a brother and a sister?"
Roy didn't care about Captain Britain's scrutiny and asked.
"Are you trying to threaten me with my family?"
Captain Britain asked Roy in return.
"No, just curious."
Roy said with a calm face.
He didn't know if this Universe's Captain Britain had a brother and a sister.
However, he was certain of one thing: even if Captain Britain had siblings, they couldn't possibly be Mutants.
"Stop wasting time. According to the plan, finish him off quickly."
Captain America said to Captain Britain.
"Fine!"
Captain Britain nodded and immediately charged at Roy.
In just an instant, Captain Britain vanished from Roy's sight, appearing before him like a flash, his right fist striking toward Roy's chest like lightning.
Captain Britain's speed was very fast.
Roy's reaction was equally fast.
When Captain Britain erupted with a flight speed that exceeded the limits of the naked eye and vanished from his sight, Roy decisively used Ghost Cat's superpower.
Intangibility!
Captain Britain's right fist passed through his chest as if passing through air, causing him no harm at all.
At the same time, Roy's right hand released Adamantium Claws, swinging them at Captain Britain, who had delivered himself to his doorstep.
Without any hesitation, Captain Britain erupted with astonishing flight speed once again, vanishing like a flash to avoid the attack of the Adamantium Claws.
Quite the reaction speed!
Roy remarked inwardly.
He had thought Captain Britain would be distracted by surprise.
It turned out he had underestimated the opponent a bit.
In the blink of an eye, Captain Britain returned to Captain America's side, the expression on his face becoming extremely solemn.
Over the past week or so, he and Captain America had been discussing how to defeat Roy.
Then, they reached a conclusion.
To defeat Roy, there was only one way: defeat him with lightning speed before he could use his superpowers.
Their conclusion wasn't necessarily wrong.
If they were fast enough, they indeed could defeat Roybefore he could react.
But the problem was, they didn't have that kind of speed.
Take the attack just now, for example.
The speed Captain Britain erupted with was indeed fast, far exceeding the limits of the naked eye.
However, this speed was still not enough to make it impossible for Roy to react.
To make Roy unable to react, Captain Britain's speed would need to be dozens of times faster.
"You've been planning for so many days, surely you didn't only come up with this one plan?"
"If this is the only plan you prepared, then I have to say, you're quite disappointing."
Roy retracted the Adamantium Claws on his right hand and spoke to the two of them.
Seeing the expressions of both Captain America and Captain Britain turn solemn, he knew they hadn't prepared many backup plans.
Otherwise, their expressions wouldn't look this bad right now.
Hearing Roy's words, Captain America immediately said:
"We indeed underestimated your reaction speed, but the initiative is still with us."
"If we want to leave, you can't stop us."
Can't stop you?
Roy sighed helplessly and continued: "I find you people very interesting; you always like to underestimate others and overestimate yourselves."
"If I'm not mistaken, you must have calculated my flight speed in detail beforehand, which is why you think I have no way to stop you from leaving."
"If we're just comparing flight speed, the current me is indeed not as fast as Brian."
"But I don't need to fly faster than him at all."
"Because you are already inside the 'Birdcage' I created."
"Without my permission, no matter how fast Brian's flight speed is, you won't be able to leave this place."
While Captain Britain was avoiding the Adamantium Claws' attack, Roy had discreetly manipulated the magnetic field, creating a high-intensity magnetic cage that completely enveloped the entire factory.
Birdcage?
Captain America and Captain Britain quickly scanned their surroundings.
Then, they saw nothing unusual.
It was normal that they couldn't see it.
It would be strange if they could see the existence of a magnetic field.
Neither Captain America nor Captain Britain spoke; they quickly exchanged a look.
The next second, Captain Britain grabbed Captain America's shoulder and used his flight ability; the two of them soared into the sky, reaching an altitude of several hundred meters in the blink of an eye.
Just as Captain Britain continued to increase his flight altitude, intending to take Captain America away according to the established retreat plan, he slammed hard into an invisible magnetic barrier while rising rapidly.
Although he hit the magnetic barrier, Captain Britaindidn't suffer any damage.
The magnetic cage Roy created only had the ability to prevent people inside from leaving and people outside from entering; it didn't have the effect of attacking others.
Besides, with Captain Britain's constitution, it was difficult for ordinary attacks to cause him harm.
Though uninjured, Captain Britain's expression became incredibly grim.
Without any hesitation, he immediately raised his left hand and punched hard at the magnetic barrier that was invisible to the naked eye.
Boom!
His left fist slammed heavily into the magnetic barrier, erupting with a massive, explosion-like sound.
Damn it!
Captain Britain cursed inwardly.
Although he couldn't see the magnetic barrier, he was certain that his full-power punch hadn't caused any damage to it.
In other words, he and Captain America were now trapped like birds in a cage.
Under Roy's gaze, Captain Britain and Captain Americadescended back to the roof of the factory, looking at Roywith ugly expressions.
Seeing Captain Britain return to the roof with Captain America, Roy frowned slightly.
Something is wrong with this Universe's Captain Britain!
When Captain Britain was blocked by the magnetic barrier, Roy had thought he would mobilize cosmic energy or use magic power to attack the barrier.
Instead, Captain Britain had merely thrown a hard punch at the magnetic barrier.
Could it be that this guy hasn't mastered cosmic energy and magic power?
That shouldn't be right!
He is the 'Guardian of the British Isles' chosen by Merlin; it's unlikely he wouldn't even have the ability to use cosmic energy and magic power!
Unless... a guess immediately flashed through Roy's mind.
Ever since Captain Britain appeared, he had guessed that this Universe's version was far less powerful than the one in the comics.
Now, he began to suspect that this Captain Britain's origin was completely different from the comics.
Although Captain Britain had already demonstrated super strength, super reflexes, flight, and other abilities,
He hadn't released any cosmic energy or magic power.
Roy remembered very clearly.
In the official Marvel power rankings, Captain Britain was a nearly perfect hexagon.
Except for Intelligence, which was at Level 6 (Super Genius) rather than the omniscient Level 7,
The five stats of Strength, Speed, Durability, Energy Projection, and Fighting Skills were all at the maximum Level 7.
Even if this Universe's Captain Britain wasn't as strong as in the comics, he shouldn't be lacking even the most basic energy projection ability.
After observing Captain Britain for a moment, Roy said to him: "Where are your amulet of right and star scepter?"
amulet of right?
star scepter?
A look of confusion immediately appeared on Captain Britain's face.
Although he didn't answer, seeing the confused expression on his face gave Roy the answer.
Clearly, this Universe's Captain Britain had a different origin from the comics.
As for what that origin was exactly, he couldn't be sure right now.
However, from the current situation, Captain Britain didn't seem to know Merlin at all.
The star scepter was one thing.
After all, the star scepter wasn't equipment Captain Britain had from the very beginning.
But the amulet of right was different.
In the comics, the reason Brian was able to become Captain Britain was because he chose the amulet of rightover the Sword of Might.
If this Universe's Captain Britain didn't even know about the amulet of right, it could only mean his origin was different from the comics.
After confirming this point, a look of disappointment appeared on Roy's face.
He had originally wanted to have some fun with Captain Britain, who to some extent represented Merlin's successor, and experience a battle different from before.
Now it seemed he had been over-optimistic.
Boring!
Truly boring!
After lamenting inwardly, Roy said to the two of them: "I thought you could bring me some fun, but now it seems I overestimated you."
"In that case, there's no need to continue wasting everyone's time."
"If you have any last words, you can say them now."
Hearing his words, Captain America and Captain Britainimmediately became extremely alert.
Although they didn't know what Roy was thinking, they both sensed the killing intent radiating from him.
After a few minutes of silence, Captain Britain initiated the attack, flying toward Roy like a bolt of lightning.
At the same time, Captain America drew the pistol from his waist, instantly aimed at Roy, and prepared to fire at any moment.
Just like before, Captain Britain arrived in front of Roy in an instant, swinging his right fist at him.
Even though Captain Britain chose the same attack method as before, Roy did not use Ghost Cat's intangibility ability.
Boom!
Captain Britain's right fist failed to hit Roy; it was blocked by a force field capable of isolating matter and energy, with a strength sufficient to withstand repeated nuclear bombings.
The magnetic cage used to trap Captain Britain and Captain America was a move Roy had created himself.
And the force field he was now using to block Captain Britain's attack was a move developed by Magneto.
In the comics, Magneto often used this kind of force field to block others' attacks.
Not only that, when traveling through space with his physical body, Magneto would also use this force field to protect himself.
Without any suspense, the powerful force field that enveloped Roy in a 360-degree, no-dead-angle manner easily blocked Captain Britain's right fist.
optic blast!
Before Captain Britain could retract his right fist, Roy's eyes glowed with ruby-like light, releasing a laser-like optic blast.
Caught off guard, Captain Britain was hit in the chest by the optic blast, and he was sent flying backward like a hit baseball.
After knocking Captain Britain back with the optic blast, Roy immediately ceased the blast and raised his left hand toward Captain America.
Banshō Ten'in!
Muttering to himself, Roy manipulated the magnetic field and locked onto the distant Captain America.
The moment Roy raised his left hand, Captain Americarealized something was wrong.
But before he could do anything, he was pulled rapidly toward Roy as if attracted by a black hole.
In the blink of an eye, he was in front of Roy, his neck gripped by Roy's hand.
Crack!
Without any hesitation, Roy applied a slight force with his left hand, easily snapping Captain America's neck and completely ending his life.
Although he could have tortured Captain America as he did Nick Fury and Bucky, he didn't intend to waste too much time on him.
After snapping Captain America's neck, he immediately used Iceman's superpower, freezing the corpse into an ice sculpture.
Then, he threw Captain America's corpse into the system space.
"Captain America is dead. Next, it's your turn!"
Roy used teleportation to reach the edge of the roof and spoke to Captain Britain, who had just gotten up from the ground...
Chapter 123: Omega Beams
Captain America is dead?
Captain Britain looked up at Roy standing on the edge of the roof, his expression as grim as could be.
Although he wasn't American, like Peter, Mary Jane, and others who grew up in America, he had also grown up listening to stories of Captain America since he was a child.
He had no personal grudge against Roy, nor did he particularly dislike him.
He helped Captain America, on one hand, to assist the hero in his heart.
On the other hand, he wanted to become a household name superhero like Captain America by helping him defeat Roy.
After a few seconds of silence, Captain Britain used his flight ability and took to the air.
Although he had underestimated Roy's strength, the only choice before him now was to defeat Roy.
Otherwise, he would die here just like Captain America.
Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves, Captain Britainlaunched an attack on Roy once again.
This time, he didn't fly straight at Roy as before, but flew behind him, attempting a back attack.
Relying on his ultra-fast flight speed of several Mach, he quickly reached Roy's back, his right fist striking with full force toward the back of Roy's head.
Although he had changed his tactics from a frontal assault to a sneak attack from behind, no matter what angle he attacked from now, he could not touch Roy.
Bang!
Just like the previous attacks, his right fist was blocked by a force field invisible to the naked eye, posing no threat to Roy at all.
Roy stood in place without turning around, his eyes once again shining with a ruby-like glow.
optic blast!
Even though Captain Britain was behind him, Roy, with his back turned, still fired a laser-like optic blast.
What is he doing?
Seeing Roy fire the optic blast forward, a look of confusion immediately appeared on Captain Britain's face.
Just as he doubted whether Roy had used the wrong superpower, the optic blast flying forward at extreme speed suddenly underwent a bizarre refraction.
The laser-like optic blast seemed to hit a solid, invisible mirror, refracting to the other side at an obtuse angle.
The refracted optic blast didn't fly very far before another bizarre refraction occurred.
In the blink of an eye, the optic blast fired directly in front of Roy completed six or seven refractions in the air, streaking like lightning toward Captain Britain's head.
Though he didn't know how Roy did it, Captain Britaindidn't hesitate and immediately began to dodge.
His flight speed was still fast, but he still couldn't evade the optic blast.
No matter how he dodged, the optic blast would refract again and continue to pursue him.
Damn it!
Captain Britain, constantly dodging in the air, cursed inwardly.
The scene before him involuntarily reminded him of an ability from DC Comics.
Omega Beams!
The optic blast, constantly refracting and tracking him, reminded him of the famous DC villain Darkseid's Omega Beams.
The optic blast Roy was releasing now felt exactly like Darkseid's Omega Beams to him.
It wasn't strange for Captain Britain to feel this way.
Because Roy was currently using the optic blast to mimic Darkseid's Omega Beams.
In terms of power, the optic blast was far inferior to the Omega Beams.
But from the current form of attack, the two couldn't be said to be identical, but they were eighty to ninety percent similar.
Cyclops could originally use the angles of object surfaces to change the attack angle of the optic blast.
This method of attack was called a Ricochet Shot by Cyclops.
After obtaining the Iceman and Magneto cards, Royfurther upgraded the Ricochet Shot created by Cyclops.
At first, he used Iceman's superpower to manipulate water molecules in the air to form ice mirrors, allowing the optic blast to bounce and reflect off them.
With the assistance of ice mirrors, the optic blast he fired could already achieve an attack method identical to the Omega Beams.
But he was still somewhat dissatisfied.
Because ice mirrors could be seen by others.
Thus, after obtaining the Magnetism Manipulation Superpower, he replaced the ice mirrors with magnetic fields.
Unlike ice mirrors, magnetic fields cannot be detected by the naked eye, making the effect look even closer to the Omega Beams.
From Captain Britain's perspective, the optic blast Royfired underwent bizarre refractions in the air.
But in reality, the refraction of the optic blast wasn't bizarre at all; it was completed with the assistance of magnetic fields.
As the "refraction points" Roy created became more numerous, Captain Britain's dodging became increasingly desperate.
After persisting like this for five or six seconds, Captain Britain, who was constantly dodging in the air, was hit by the optic blast again and fell to the ground like a shot bird.
When Captain Britain hit the ground, Roy did not hesitate and immediately used Ghost Cat's teleportation superpower.
In an instant, he appeared before Captain Britain, his right hand once again releasing Adamantium Claws.
Squelch!
Before Captain Britain could react, the sharp Adamantium Claws slashed across his neck, severing his head.
Captain Britain's head fell to the ground under the force of gravity, rolling like a soccer ball for a few turns.
Only after the head stopped rolling did Captain Britain's corpse collapse to the ground with a thud.
Glancing at Captain Britain's corpse and head, Royretracted the Adamantium Claws on his right hand.
He crouched down, picked up Captain Britain's head, and placed it so that Captain Britain's hands were holding the head.
Freeze!
After posing Captain Britain, he immediately used Iceman's superpower to completely Freeze Captain Britain's corpse.
Then, he stored the massive block of ice containing Captain Britain into his system space and teleported away from the factory.
Tower Bridge of London.
After performing several consecutive teleports, Roy once again arrived at London's famous landmark, Tower Bridge of London.
The last time he came here, he had hanged Alexander Pierce.
This time, he planned to place the bodies of Captain America and Captain Britain on the roof of the bridge towers.
The Tower Bridge has two towers; Captain America and Captain Britain could each have one.
Before long, two new "decorations" appeared on the central spires of the two towers.
One was Captain America with a snapped neck.
The other was Captain Britain, holding his own head in his hands.
Like insects in amber, they were frozen inside crystal-clear blocks of ice over two meters high and one meter in diameter, as if finely carved from crystal.
Roy's action of placing new "decorations" on the tower roofs quickly attracted a crowd of onlookers.
At first, the surrounding citizens only recognized him and didn't recognize Captain America and Captain Britaininside the ice blocks.
Only after Roy had placed the ice blocks containing the two and used his freezing superpower to firmly attach the blocks to the towers did the onlookers realize that one of the people inside was Captain America.
After confirming the person inside was Captain America, the onlookers immediately recalled the bounty Roy had previously placed on him.
At the same time, several questions flashed through their minds.
Who is the person in the other ice block?
How did he find Captain America?
Did someone provide him with intelligence on Captain America?
Roy didn't care about people's stares; he manipulated the magnetic field, flew a few circles around the towers, and admired his masterpiece.
Then, under the watchful eyes of the people, he used his teleportation superpower and vanished from their sight... Manhattan.
Skyscraper Penthouse.
Using the Tesseract, Roy quickly returned to the living room of the penthouse.
After putting the Tesseract back into his system space, he found Daisy and said to her, "You can cancel the bounty on Captain America now."
"Mm-hmm!"
Daisy didn't ask about the details of Roy killing Captain America and immediately nodded.
The moment Roy personally went to London, she knew Captain America's only remaining end was being killed.
Under Roy's gaze, Daisy first logged into the Blood Angel Website as an administrator and canceled the bounty on Captain America.
Then, she logged into the Dark Web and canceled the bounty there as well.
After doing all this, she asked Roy, "Do we need to notify the media?"
"No need. Once the media gets the news, they will definitely report on it. There's no need to specifically notify them."
Roy replied.
Not long after, the news of Captain America being killed and displayed as a decoration on Tower Bridge of Londonbecame the headline on major news websites and a trending topic on search engines and social media.
Without any suspense, a storm of public opinion regarding him appeared on the internet once again.
People who viewed Captain America as an idol crazily condemned him on the internet for ignoring the law and killing at will.
People who approved of him refuted Captain America's supporters on the internet, saying that Captain Americawas a superhero in name but actually a hypocrite who killed colleagues and betrayed S.H.I.E.L.D..
Besides his and Captain America's supporters, there were many bystanders who just wanted to see the world burn, fanning the flames from the sidelines.
Washington D.C..
The Director's office in the Triskelion, the headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D..
Coulson, who had been Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. for less than a month, sat behind his desk, looking at the computer screen with a grim expression.
The screen was currently playing the news of Captain America's death.
Although he had hosted the S.H.I.E.L.D. press conference last time and publicly announced the warrant for Captain America,
he hadn't completely let go of his admiration for Captain America.
As a former fanatical fan of Captain America, it was impossible for him to just let it go.
After a few minutes of silence, he closed the website page, logged into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s classified database, and found a secret project that only a few people, including the Director, could browse.
reincarnation project!
A plan to mass-clone Captain America and create an army of Super Soldiers.
reincarnation project was a secret plan personally formulated by the Motherf…er Nick Fury when the frozen Captain America was first brought back to S.H.I.E.L.D..
Before becoming the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Coulson did not know of the existence of reincarnation project.
Speaking of reincarnation project, one must mention the super soldier program that turned Rogers from a sickly little man into Captain America.
During World War II, the President authorized the SSR to execute the super soldier program to create a Super Soldier army that could counter the Nazis and HYDRA.
And Rogers was the pioneer of the super soldier program.
The super soldier serum invented by Dr. Abraham Erskine was perfectly embodied in Rogers.
But unfortunately, not long after the experiment succeeded, Dr. Abraham Erskine was assassinated by HYDRA, and the remaining super soldier serum was destroyed.
To continue completing the super soldier program, the SSR at that time tried to use Captain America's blood to reverse-engineer the formula for the super soldier serum.
The result was no surprise: the SSR failed.
Nick Fury knew that reverse-engineering the super soldier serum formula was a very difficult task.
Thus, when the Captain America frozen in the North Polewas brought back to S.H.I.E.L.D., he had an even more radical and bold plan.
Since the super soldier serum formula couldn't be reverse-engineered, then don't reverse-engineer it.
Instead of wasting manpower and resources on reverse-engineering the serum formula, it was better to just clone Captain America.
With S.H.I.E.L.D.'s current technology, it was easy to mass-clone Captain America.
When the plan to mass-clone Captain America and build a Super Soldier army popped into his head, Nick Furyordered S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists to collect biological samples from Captain America needed for cloning.
Including but not limited to blood, saliva, bile, hair, and so on.
Captain America would never have imagined that before he even woke up, Nick Fury had secretly taken many things from him.
Time passed bit by bit.
After browsing through the entire contents of reincarnation project, Coulson picked up the phone on his desk and dialed an internal number.
"Have Dr. Wiseman and Dr. Klaus come to my office."
Coulson said quickly.
"Yes, Officer!"
The assistant on the other end of the phone immediately replied.
New York Suburbs.
Stark Manor.
Tony was in his workshop, converted from a garage, working on the design of a new generation anti-roy armor.
"Sir, the latest news about Mr. Chen has appeared online," Jarvis's voice rang out.
Tony looked away from the armor's blueprints and said, "What did he do now?"
"Mr. Chen killed Captain America in London and placed Captain America's body on top of the towers of Tower Bridge of London."
Jarvis continued.
Hearing Jarvis's words, Tony said with a calm face, "This isn't the first time he's displayed an enemy's corpse on Tower Bridge of London; it's nothing special."
"Besides Captain America, there is also another person's corpse," Jarvis's voice rang out again.
There's someone else?
Tony frowned slightly.
After a few seconds, he said to Jarvis, "Play the news, I'll see for myself."
"Yes, Sir!" Jarvis replied immediately.
The next second, a holographic virtual screen appeared in front of Tony, playing the news of Roy killing Captain America.
After watching for a minute or two, Tony said, "Check who that guy wearing the Great Britain flag is."
"Also, send Roy a message. Captain America's shield was made by my father. I want to buy it back. Ask him if he's willing to sell."
"Yes, Sir!"
Jarvis didn't hesitate and immediately sent the message to Roy as Tony instructed.
Before long, it received a reply from Roy.
"Sir, Mr. Chen is willing to sell Captain America's vibranium shield. The price is for you to design and manufacture a Vibranium Suit according to his needs."
"He will provide the Vibranium needed for the suit; you only need to be responsible for the design and manufacturing, Sir."
Jarvis relayed Roy's words to Tony.
"No problem, I agree."
Tony didn't think for long and quickly gave his reply.
If anyone else had made such a request, he would never have agreed.
Although designing and manufacturing a suit wasn't a difficult task for him, it would give him the feeling that he was working for someone else.
As a rich second-generation who grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth, he didn't like that feeling.
But Roy wasn't just anyone else.
Or rather, he knew this was the only way he could get the vibranium shield back from Roy's hands.
Additionally, he was also somewhat curious about what kind of Vibranium Suit Roy wanted him to design and manufacture.
Only seconds after Jarvis sent Tony's reply to Roy, a circular spatial gate one meter in diameter appeared next to Tony.
The next second, Captain America's vibranium shieldpassed through the spatial gate and landed on the table in front of Tony.
Before Tony could pick up the vibranium shield in front of him, the spatial gate vanished, as if it had never appeared.
Looking at the vibranium shield in front of him, Tonysighed.
Then, he picked up the vibranium shield and began to examine it seriously...
Chapter 124: Magnetic Field Rotation Power
Although Tony was a native-born American, he didn't feel much about Roy killing Captain America.
To him, Captain America was just a relatively well-known American soldier with physical fitness far exceeding that of a normal person.
He never considered Captain America a superhero, nor did he have any admiration or faith in him.
Whether it was Captain America defeating Red Skull in World War II or fighting HYDRA as a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agentafter waking up, it all seemed perfectly normal to him.
Because that was the job Captain America was supposed to perform.
Or rather, it was the duty Captain America was supposed to fulfill.
After examining the vibranium shield made by Howardfor a minute or two, Tony said to the intelligent robot, clumsy, "Put the shield in my collection vault."
As soon as he finished speaking, clumsy came over to him and took the vibranium shield with its mechanical arm.
Then, it turned around and headed toward Tony's collection vault.
After watching clumsy leave the workshop, Tony took a deep breath, calmed himself down, and continued the development and design of the new generation anti-roy armor.
Manhattan.
The penthouse apartment of the Skyscraper.
Roy sat in his study, thinking about the next arrangements.
Captain America had already been killed by him, and the body had been placed on top of the tower of the Tower Bridge of London for people to see.
But the Howling Commandos, formed by Captain America, still existed.
Roy didn't know who exactly was in the Howling Commandos.
However, he was certain of one thing: the members of the Howling Commandos must hate him very much right now.
After some thought, he decided to keep having Hulk and Abomination serve as bodyguards to secretly protect Daisy and Mary Jane.
Unless he was certain that the Howling Commandos had no intention of attacking Daisy and Mary Jane, or until the Howling Commandos were completely wiped out by him.
Having made a decision, he picked up his phone and sent a message to Allen, instructing him to notify Hulk and Abomination to continue the plan of protecting Daisy and Mary Jane.
After finishing this, he put his phone aside, opened his computer, and continued studying professional knowledge in the field of electromagnetism.
Brooklyn District.
Inside an unremarkable apartment.
Iron Fist Danny Rand, Luke Cage, Blade, Moon Knight, and the Vampire Morbius sat in the living room without saying a word.
"Captain Rogers was killed by Roy Chen. If you have any thoughts, just say them."
Luke Cage was the first to speak.
As soon as he finished, Iron Fist Danny Rand said, "The Captain contacted me after heading to London. He said if he died at the hands of Roy Chen, everyone could freely discuss whether to disband the Howling Commandos."
Disband the team?
Hearing Iron Fist Danny Rand's words, Luke Cage, Moon Knight, and the others immediately frowned.
There were two reasons why they had joined the Howling Commandos.
One was their recognition of Captain America.
The other was that they all felt Roy was being far too reckless.
Or rather, from their perspective, Roy was no different from a supervillain.
"I don't think it's necessary for us to disband the team."
"Or rather, I don't think we need to disband until Roy Chen is eliminated."
"His strength is indeed greater than we anticipated, but that doesn't mean he can't be defeated."
Luke Cage said slowly.
"Exactly!"
"The purpose of forming this team was to eliminate Roy Chen. As long as he isn't dead, there's no need to disband."
"Although the Captain is dead, we are still here!"
Moon Knight, whose entire body was wrapped in white bandages, glanced at Luke Cage and said in a serious tone.
"Instead of discussing whether to disband, we might as well discuss who will be the Captain."
Blade, wearing a long black trench coat and sunglasses, looking seventy to eighty percent like Motherf…er Nick Fury, spoke up.
Hearing his words, the gazes of Moon Knight, Luke Cage, and the Vampire Morbius immediately fell on Iron Fist.
"What are you looking at me for? I have no intention of being the Captain."
Iron Fist said immediately.
"You arranged Captain Rogers' private jet to London, and you were the only person the Captain contacted after arriving there."
"Our Base and residences in New York were also arranged by you."
"You are the most suitable candidate for the new Captain."
Blade looked at Iron Fist with a serious face and said slowly.
Before Iron Fist could answer, Luke Cage and the other two nodded in unison.
Glancing at Blade and Luke Cage, Iron Fist sighed helplessly and said slowly, "Since you all think so, then I will serve as the Captain."
If he could, he didn't want to be the new Captain of the team.
On the surface, becoming the Captain meant having command over the team.
But things were not that simple.
The Howling Commandos was not some official team, and the team members were not ordinary people.
More importantly, the goal of the Howling Commandoswas to completely kill Roy.
After thinking for a moment, Iron Fist said, "Until we find a way to deal with Roy, everyone should continue with their previous lives."
"If there's a new plan, I'll notify everyone."
Blade, Luke Cage, and the others didn't speak but nodded.
"Let's leave it at that for now."
After saying that, Iron Fist stood up and was the first to leave the apartment.
After he left, Blade, Luke Cage, and the others had no intention of staying either, and they all got up to leave the apartment and return to their respective homes... Time flew by.
A week passed before they knew it.
The news of Roy killing Captain America only stayed buzzing for two or three days before there was no significant commotion left.
Except for a small group of Captain America's fanatical fans who tirelessly condemned him online, most of the public had lost interest in the matter.
In the internet age of information explosion, it's hard for the public's attention to stay on one thing for long.
For Roy, the past week was no different from before.
But for Tony, the past week hadn't been easy.
The day after he handed over the vibranium shield, Roysent him the specific requirements for the Vibranium Suit.
Nanotechnology!
Roy wanted him to design and develop a Vibranium Suitusing nanotechnology!
Although in the cinematic Universe, Tony successfully developed the nano-armors Mark 50 and Mark 85.
The problem was, that was ten years after Tony became Iron Man.
Now, Tony had only been Iron Man for a few months.
Currently, let alone a nano-armor, he hadn't even developed the second-generation miniature Arc Reactorand was still using the first-generation palladium-based miniature Arc Reactor.
Knowing that Roy's requirement was nanotechnology, Tony felt a bit of regret.
However, he still began researching nanotechnology.
Although nanotechnology wasn't something that could be easily mastered, he still didn't plan to give up.
First, his pride wouldn't allow him to tell Roy he couldn't do it.
Second, he also had a strong interest in nanotechnology.
Besides, the nanotechnology proposed by Roy also gave him hope of defeating Roy.
While Tony was doing his best and researching nanotechnology tirelessly, Roy wasn't idle either.
In the biting cold of Antarctica, which was like a forbidden zone for life.
Roy was practicing his newly developed ability.
Magnetic Field Rotation Power!
Referencing the Hong Kong comic sea tiger, he used the magnetic field manipulation superpower granted by the Magneto card to preliminarily develop a power similar to the Magnetic Field Rotation Power in the sea tigerworldview.
Still in its early stages, the Magnetic Field Rotation Power did not yet possess the ability to reorganize and create matter or change the DNA of organisms and oneself; it only had the capacity to strengthen the self and perform anti-gravity flight.
Although Magneto in the comics could also use magnetic force to strengthen himself and fly, the magnetic force used by Magneto was quite different from the Magnetic Field Rotation Power in the sea tiger World.
Roy didn't know if he could perfectly replicate the Magnetic Field Rotation Power from the sea tiger World, but he didn't mind giving it a try.
Even if he failed, there would be no loss for him.
But once successful, it would be equivalent to developing a power system completely different from Mutantsuperpowers.
Under Roy's control, the cells in his body rubbed against each other with amazing speed and intensity, constantly generating Magnetic Field Rotation Power, strengthening and improving his physical attributes bit by bit.
Roy sat cross-legged, floating a meter above the ground, eyes closed, as motionless as a statue.
The raging cold wind and terrifyingly low temperatures had no effect on him.
Whether it was the incoming wind and frost or the sub-zero air, they were all blocked out by a force field invisible to the naked eye.
Time passed bit by bit.
After several hours like this, Roy, who was in cultivation, slowly opened his eyes, a satisfied expression on his face.
This was his first formal cultivation session after developing the Magnetic Field Rotation Power.
The results of the cultivation were very satisfying.
He could clearly feel that his physical attributes had been strengthened.
If there was anything to be dissatisfied with, it was that the system lacked a function to display physical attribute values, making it impossible to accurately see the improvement.
He wondered if the system would continue to upgrade in the future.
Roy mused to himself.
After using the newly cultivated Magnetic Field Rotation Power to check his body in detail and confirming there were no hidden dangers in the cultivation method he developed, he took the Tesseract out of the system space.
In the next second, the pitch-black "thunderclouds" and silver-white "lightning" unique to the Tesseract's teleportation completely enveloped him.
Manhattan, New York.
In just an instant, Roy returned from the heart of Antarctica to the luxury penthouse apartment in the Skyscraper.
Upon returning, he first put the Tesseract into the system space and then headed straight for Daisy's bedroom.
Soon, he arrived at Daisy's bedroom and saw her lying on the bed playing with a tablet.
"What are you playing?"
Roy asked Daisy.
Hearing his voice, Daisy immediately turned her head and said with surprise, "How did you get back so soon?"
Because he had never truly cultivated the Magnetic Field Rotation Power before, Roy wasn't entirely sure if his first session would go smoothly.
Therefore, before heading to Antarctica to cultivate, he told Daisy and Mary Jane that he might be gone for a few days.
"The cultivation went much more smoothly than I imagined,"
Roy said slowly.
"I'm playing a mobile game with you as the protagonist."
Daisy brought the tablet to Roy and handed it to him.
Taking the tablet from Daisy, Roy took a brief look at the screen.
Then, he frowned.
The game Daisy was playing wasn't an action game or a competitive mobile game, but a romance mobile game focused on gacha and dress-up.
The male protagonist in the game was none other than an animated version of Roy.
Isn't this an infringement?
Roy knew he had many fans now, and quite a few of them were fanatics.
But he still hadn't expected that a game developer would release a romance simulation game featuring him as the protagonist, specifically targeting female players.
"Send a warning letter to this game company."
Roy handed the tablet back to Daisy and said seriously.
Daisy's expression suddenly became awkward as she said slowly, "Um... I'm the one who had them develop this game."
What?
Roy looked at Daisy with surprise.
Before he could speak, Daisy quickly began to explain.
After listening to Daisy's explanation, Roy shook his head with a wry smile and said slowly, "Actually, you could have told me sooner."
"The warning letter can wait, but they can't use my image for nothing. Tell them to hand over thirty percent of the game's profits as a licensing fee."
As soon as he finished, Daisy quickly replied, "When I had them develop this game, I already talked to them about profit sharing."
"They are responsible for the game's development, promotion, and maintenance, and I provide them with suggestions. We split the profits fifty-fifty."
"The game has only been live for a short time, so the first settlement hasn't been made yet."
"After the settlement, I'll transfer the money to your account."
Fifty percent of the profits?
Roy had thought Daisy forgot to arrange a profit-sharing deal with the game company, but it turned out she wanted even more than he did.
He only wanted thirty percent of the profits, while Daisyhad asked for half.
After thinking for a moment, he said to Daisy, "Keep the game company's share as pocket money."
"Also, in my name, send emails to those well-known game companies, movie studios, and advertising agencies, saying I have some business to discuss with them."
Although he hadn't expected Daisy to take the initiative to contact a game company to develop a mobile game about him, her action gave him an idea.
Or rather, it made him think of a business that didn't exist yet but had great financial potential.
The commercialization of superheroes!
Daisy didn't ask Roy what business he wanted to discuss with those companies and immediately nodded.
After a brief chat with Daisy, Roy went to his study and sat in his office chair, seriously considering the commercialization of superheroes, similar to Vought International.
Although he had no intention of being a superherohimself, he didn't mind establishing a superhero company in this Universe similar to Vought International.
Since he had nothing better to do, building a superherocompany for fun seemed quite nice.
After thinking for a few minutes, he took out his phone, opened his contacts, and found Gwen's number.
Without any hesitation, he immediately dialed Gwen's number...
Chapter 125: Vought Company
After Roy held a press conference to publicly reveal himself as the blood angel, he and Gwen had never met again in public.
Although they occasionally still spoke on the phone or met on the rooftops of deserted Skyscrapers.
Compared to before their identities were public, the frequency of their contact and meetings had decreased significantly.
Take the present, for example.
The last time Gwen had called Roy was half a month ago.
As for meeting in person, that was something from over a month ago.
Before long, the call connected, and Gwen's voice came through from the other end of the line.
"What made you suddenly think of calling me?"
Gwen asked immediately without any hesitation.
"There's something I want to talk to you about. Is it convenient for you to meet now?"
Roy asked.
"I'm in my school dormitory right now."
Gwen replied quickly.
"Okay, I'll be over right away."
After saying that, Roy hung up the phone.
The next second, he decisively activated his teleportation superpower.
After a few consecutive teleports, he arrived at Gwen's dormitory and saw Gwen, whom he hadn't seen for over a month.
Today, Gwen was wearing a pair of black shorts, perfectly showcasing her rounded and slender long legs.
On top, she wore a light blue striped shirt and a dark brown casual jacket.
Her current outfit was very much in line with the daily attire of an American female college student, giving off a youthful, beautiful, and vibrant feeling.
As the saying goes, a good-looking person looks good even in a sack.
Even in casual daily wear, Gwen was still an absolute beauty.
Roy's gaze unconsciously lingered for a moment on Gwen's rounded and slender long legs.
Seeing his gaze fall on her legs, a thought suddenly popped into Gwen's head. She crossed her legs and said to him, "Do you want to touch them?"
What?
Roy was stunned for a moment.
"If you want to touch them, I can let you have a feel."
After saying that, Gwen raised an eyebrow at Roy.
Seeing Gwen raise her eyebrow, Roy immediately guessed what she was up to and said with a smile, "We're all so familiar with each other, isn't it a bit stingy to only let me have a touch?"
"Stingy?"
"I think this is already very generous."
Gwen said with a serious face.
"It might be generous for you, but for me, this doesn't count as generous."
Roy replied.
Hearing his answer, Gwen stood up, walked over to him, stroked his cheek, and said in a charming and seductive tone, "Are you sure you don't want to?"
"Alright, stop messing around. Let's talk business."
"I came to see you because I have a plan I want to discuss with you."
Roy didn't pay any mind to Gwen's seduction and spoke slowly.
"What plan do you have now?"
Gwen withdrew her right hand from Roy's cheek and returned to her normal tone.
Roy didn't waste any time and immediately gave a brief overview of his plan.
Commercialization of superheroes?
After he finished explaining, Gwen frowned slightly.
After a few seconds, she spoke up, "Commercializing superheroes can indeed bring in huge profits, but you shouldn't care about those profits."
"If you wanted to make money, you could make a fortune just by selling some Vibranium to the outside World."
It wasn't strange for Gwen to have such doubts.
Once Vibranium became widely known, there were more than a few countries and companies that wanted to buy it.
In other words, if Roy were willing to sell Vibranium, he would quickly become the undisputed richest man in the World.
"I'm not doing it for the money. I just want to find something to do."
Roy looked at Gwen and said with a serious face.
Gwen fell silent.
After thinking for about ten seconds, she continued, "I can cooperate with you to establish a superhero company, provided that my true identity is not exposed."
She had no interest in doing business.
But she didn't mind having more legal income.
George was only a captain in the NYPD, and his income wasn't very high.
As for her mother, Helen, she was a full-time housewife.
If it weren't for her good grades and getting a full scholarship, she would be applying for student loans like most college students in America.
"Don't worry, your true identity definitely won't be exposed. You just need to join as Spider-Woman."
Roy said quickly.
"Who else do you plan to invite? Will Tony Stark join too?"
Gwen continued to ask.
"I'll talk to him, but he might not be interested."
"Besides him, I also plan to ask Peter if he wants to join."
Roy said slowly.
Peter?
An expression of surprise immediately appeared on Gwen's delicate, fair, oval face, and she said to him, "When was the last time you contacted him?"
"It's been quite a while."
"If I remember correctly, the last time should have been the week before Tony Stark returned from Afghanistan."
Roy recalled and said with a calm face.
Hearing his answer, Gwen showed an 'as expected' expression.
Under Roy's gaze, she spoke, "Then you definitely don't know that he has already dropped out of school."
Peter dropped out?
Before Roy could ask, Gwen continued, "He applied to drop out a few months ago and partnered with Liz Toomes' father to start a company."
"Not only that, I heard from high school classmates that he even proposed to Liz Toomes."
After listening to Gwen's account, Roy frowned slightly.
He knew that after Peter's dark turn, he had gotten together with Liz Toomes.
But he hadn't expected Peter to drop out, let alone propose to Liz Toomes.
"It seems I haven't paid attention to him for a bit too long; I didn't even know he dropped out."
Roy said slowly.
After chatting with Gwen for a few more minutes, he used teleportation to leave and returned to the Skyscraper in Manhattan.
After returning, he went to Daisy's bedroom and said to Daisy, who was playing a dating mobile game, "Check out the Parker-Toomes Company. See if the company's business and taxes are normal."
"Okay!"
Hearing his words, Daisy, who was lying on the bed playing games, immediately sat up and nodded.
Under Roy's gaze, Daisy immediately picked up a nearby laptop and began searching quickly.
With little effort, she found the required information in the official database of the New York State government.
"Parker-Toomes Company, co-founded by Peter Parkerand Adrian Toomes."
"Registered capital of one million US dollars. Main business includes smart robots, biotechnology, private security services, and so on."
"The registered address of the company is 174 Francis Lewis Boulevard, Queens."
"Tax records are normal, no tax evasion."
"From the tax details, the company's revenue is quite good. In just the last three months, the company's net profit reached nearly two million US dollars."
Daisy read out the information she found one by one.
"Okay, you go back to playing your game."
Roy said to Daisy.
"Mhm!"
Daisy nodded and picked up the tablet next to her again.
Roy didn't hesitate and activated teleportation once more.
In just a short ten seconds or so, he went from the Skyscraper in Manhattan to 174 Lewis Boulevard in Queens and saw the sign for the Parker-Toomes Company.
He didn't waste time and pushed open the door, coming to the company's front desk.
Before he could speak, the blonde receptionist in professional attire looked at him with a face full of surprise.
"Is Peter in the office right now?"
Roy said to the receptionist.
"He is."
After saying that, the receptionist picked up the phone and dialed an internal number.
Before long, Peter, whom he hadn't seen for over half a year, came from the office to the front desk and appeared in Roy's sight.
"I didn't expect you to actually take the initiative to come find me."
Peter, wearing a black suit, said to Roy.
"Let's find a quiet place to talk."
Roy said to Peter.
"Let's go to my office."
Peter replied immediately.
"Okay."
Roy nodded.
After arriving at Peter's office, he said to Peter, who looked much more mature, "I heard from Gwen that you proposed to Liz a while ago. Have you thought about when to hold the wedding?"
"At the earliest, it'll be in a year or two. The company is just starting out now. I'll only consider it once things have stabilized here."
Peter sat opposite Roy and said with a calm face.
"I originally thought you were just playing around with her. I didn't expect you to be serious."
Roy continued.
Hearing his words, Peter shrugged and said casually, "I have to get married sooner or later anyway. Liz is quite understanding, and Aunt May likes her a lot. She'll make a good wife."
"Let's not talk about that. You specifically came to find me, so it shouldn't be just to ask when I'm getting married."
"Tell me, what do you need?"
After observing Peter for a moment, Roy briefly explained his plan to start a superhero company.
As soon as he finished speaking, Peter gave his answer.
"No problem, I can join your superhero company anytime."
"However, I have one requirement."
Peter looked at Roy with a serious face.
"What requirement?"
Roy asked.
"I want a 10% share of the profits."
Peter said quickly.
10% of the profits?
He really is a mature adult now!
Roy sighed inwardly and said with a smile, "You're satisfied with just 10%?"
"I'm not greedy. 10% is enough for me."
Peter replied quickly.
"I can give you 10% of the profits, but I also have a requirement."
After thinking for a moment, Roy continued.
"What requirement?"
Peter asked.
"Change your Spider-Man suit back to the original red and blue. I don't like your black Spider-Man suit."
Roy looked at Peter seriously and spoke slowly.
"No problem."
Peter agreed immediately without any hesitation.
"There's nothing else then. When I need Spider-Man to make an appearance, I'll let you know."
After saying that, Roy stood up, preparing to teleport away.
"Okay!"
"Happy cooperating!"
Peter stood up and extended his right hand toward Roy.
Looking at Peter's extended right hand, Roy shook it.
Then, under Peter's gaze, he teleported out of the office.
When Roy left, Peter pulled his phone out of his jacket pocket and dialed Liz's number.
The call was connected quickly.
"Weren't you looking at a new Hermès bag recently?"
"Go buy it. Use my card."
Before Liz could speak, Peter said... Three days later.
Vought Company, with superhero business as its main focus, officially opened for business in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
The wealthy Roy had bought a commercial building less than half a kilometer away from Stark Tower to serve as the company headquarters.
In addition to the already widely known Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Spider-Woman, he also had the company's marketing department create promotional plans for the four of them: Daisy, Hulk, Abomination, and Harry.
Although Vought Company was established by him single-handedly, he didn't plan to join Vought Companyas the blood angel; he only served as the chairman of Vought Company.
Without any suspense, the opening of Vought Companyimmediately drew a massive amount of attention.
Especially Tony's joining.
If the joining of Spider-Man and Spider-Woman was something the general public could more or less understand.
Then Tony's joining was completely beyond their expectations.
They couldn't understand why Tony, a billionaire, would join Vought Company as Iron Man.
Not only was the general public very surprised, but even Pepper, Daisy, and the others were equally surprised.
If there were any other choice, Tony wouldn't want to join Vought Company as Iron Man either.
But unfortunately, he had no other choice.
"By joining Vought Company as Iron Man, the bet you lost to me will be considered settled."
Roy didn't try to persuade Tony; he simply had Tony fulfill his original promise.
Tony didn't go back on his word and agreed immediately.
Although he joined Vought Company, Tony also clearly stated his requirement, which was that he would not participate in the filming of any movies, TV shows, or variety programs.
Roy wasn't surprised that Tony had such a requirement.
Or rather, if Tony were as hardworking and uncomplaining as an ordinary employee, he would have felt something was wrong.
From the beginning, he never thought about ordering Tony around like an employee.
Requiring Tony to join Vought Company was just to make Vought Company live up to its name.
After Captain America's death, Iron Man had become the most famous superhero!
Although he didn't deal with ordinary criminals like Peterand Gwen, because his true identity was public, Iron Man's fame was now greater than that of Spider-Man and Spider-Woman combined.
Vought Company Headquarters Building.
Chairman's Office.
Thor, wearing casual clothes, sat in front of Roy and spoke slowly, "Can I join the company as Thor?"
"You're also interested in being a superhero?"
Roy looked at Thor with a surprised face.
"I have no interest in being a superhero. I just need more money to help the people in Hells Kitchen."
Thor replied quickly.
Although he still hadn't regained his divine power, after helping ordinary people in Hells Kitchen to the best of his ability for a period of time, the originally impulsive and reckless him completely understood Odin's painstaking efforts.
"If you want money, I can give it to you directly."
Roy looked at Thor and spoke.
"I don't want to borrow money from you. I want to use the money I earn myself to help others."
Thor looked at Roy with a serious face...
Chapter 126 – Multiverse Instance
Hearing Thor's reply, Roy pondered for a moment.
Then he said slowly, "You haven't regained your divine power yet; joining the company as Thor would feel like false advertising."
"Here's the deal—I'll make you head of the company's security department, with a monthly salary of thirty thousand dollars."
"If that's not enough, you can even draw your future pay in advance."
"Once you recover your divine power, I'll arrange for you to join the company as Thor."
Be the head of a security company?
Thor frowned slightly.
Though this differed from his original plan, he didn't hesitate long. "Agreed. I'll draw a full year's salary in advance."
"No problem!"
Roy nodded.
With his current wealth, it didn't matter whether Thordrew one year or ten years ahead.
"Where do I collect the money?"
Thor asked immediately.
"Just go straight to the finance department."
Roy answered.
"Good!"
With that, Thor stood, gave Roy a slight bow of thanks, and left the office.
After Thor departed, Roy picked up the desk phone and dialed an internal extension.
The call connected quickly.
Without waiting for the other party to speak, he said, "Come in."
"Yes, sir!"
A soft, alluring voice replied at once.
Moments later, a young woman in a light-gray business suit and black stilettos, her golden hair in big waves and her figure stunning, entered the office.
Her name was Ellie, Roy's assistant, hand-picked from hundreds of applicants.
More precisely, one of several assistants.
Besides Ellie, he had hired two other female assistants whose looks, figures, education, and skills rivaled hers.
All three, including Ellie, were recent Ivy League graduates.
Ellie's alma mater was Columbia University in Manhattan, New York.
When Ellie stopped before him in her red-soled black heels, Roy briefly explained Thor's new role as head of security and his request for a year's salary advance.
"Understood. I'll contact HR and finance right away."
Ellie replied promptly.
"That's all. You may go."
Roy said calmly.
"Mmhmm!"
Ellie nodded and left the office.
After dismissing Ellie, Roy rose and walked to the large floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at Stark Tower less than a kilometer from headquarters.
After a moment's thought he returned to his desk, opened a drawer, pulled out a game controller, connected it to the console beside him, and launched the latest triple-A title.
Though he was now chairman of Vought Company, he had little interest in actually running it.
Put simply, he intended to be a hands-off boss, just as he had been at Hellfire Detective Agency.
Time flew.
Half a year passed in the blink of an eye.
During those six months, Roy continued to enjoy the decadent life of a capitalist country.
Beyond that, his main pursuits were cultivating Magnetic Field Rotation Power and developing the abilities granted by the Iceman and Magneto cards.
Though he performed no Earth-shattering deeds, he still appeared regularly on the front pages.
As Vought Company's fame grew, its founder and chairman naturally became the focus of public discussion.
Borrowing from the Vought of the Boys Universe, he packaged and promoted the company's superheroes across the board.
Not only did he rebrand already popular heroes like Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Spider-Woman, he also turned Daisy, Hulk, Abomination, and Harry into household names.
Moreover, Black Widow, Sharon Carter, and Barbarajoined Vought in guest, part-time roles.
He further selected twelve promising Frost Giants from Jotunheim and brought them to Earth.
Their arrival caused an uproar, convincing ordinary people that other intelligent life existed in the Universe.
These twelve Frost Giants were dubbed Ice Knights and enrolled into the Star Cross Knights.
The order's original members were renamed Star Knights.
The day after bringing the Frost Giants, Roy received an invitation from Sorcerer Supreme Gu Yi.
Though they had never met, he wasn't surprised.
He traveled to the New York Sanctum, met with Gu Yi, and spoke for a few minutes.
Gu Yi voiced no objection to the Frost Giants' presence; she only asked that he keep them from causing unnecessary damage.
Even without the reminder, Roy had no intention of letting them run wild, and readily agreed.
If the Frost Giants' arrival was shocking, the moment Thorregained Mjolnir's recognition, reclaimed his divine power, and joined Vought as Thor convinced everyone that Norse myth was no fiction.
The Aesir, Frost Giants, Asgard, Jotunheim—all were real.
Three months after Vought's founding, Thor, while helping the weak in Hells Kitchen, was shot "dead" by a thug while protecting a minor from gangsters.
When Thor fell, Mjolnir sensed his death from the Star Cross Knights' Base and flew to him.
Lightning from the hammer struck his corpse, dragging the freshly dead Thor back from the underworld.
Simultaneously, the divine power sealed by Odinreturned.
Yet Thor neither crushed nor electrocuted the shooter; instead he subdued the man and handed him to the police.
Having regained his power, Thor did not immediately join Vought.
Soon after, Odin used the Bifrost Bridge to reach Vought's rooftop, entered the chairman's office, and held a private talk with Roy.
Odin proved far more agreeable than Roy had expected.
Not only did he cause no trouble, he thanked Roy for aiding Thor.
As king of Asgard, he also recognized Roy's rule over Jotunheim and the Frost Giants.
After their talk, Odin took the newly empowered Thorand left Earth.
At the heart of Antarctica, Roy continued cultivating Magnetic Field Rotation Power as usual.
Day after day of training steadily strengthened both his Magnetic Field Rotation Power and his physical stats.
Although the system still hadn't updated to show his physical stats or the precise level of his Magnetic Field Rotation Power,
compared with six months ago, every attribute of his body had soared.
Now, without using any super-ability, he could burst out strength to rival the Hulk.
Time trickled by.
After three hours of cultivating Magnetic Field Rotation Power on the Antarctic continent, Roy, cross-legged and floating in mid-air, slowly opened his eyes.
Sensing his condition, he nodded in satisfaction.
The boost wasn't huge, yet he could clearly feel another uptick in his physical stats.
He stopped circulating the Magnetic Field Rotation Power, flexed his limbs, and drew the Tesseract from the system space.
In the next instant the Tesseract's unique storm clouds and lightning swallowed him completely.
In a flash he traveled from the heart of Antarctica to the chairman's office of Vought Company.
Back at his desk, he sat down and began leafing through the documents awaiting him.
All were routine company papers needing his signature.
He skimmed each one, confirmed everything was in order, and signed his name.
Then he reached for the next file.
Read, sign, read, sign—in less than three minutes he had finished the day's duties as chairman.
With the paperwork done, he lifted the phone and called Allie from outside the office.
"I've reviewed everything; carry it out."
Roy told her.
"Yes, sir!"
Allie, dressed in a form-fitting business suit that showed off her long, shapely legs, answered at once.
With a seemingly accidental bend she revealed her ample ambition, gathering the files from the desk.
Though she acted natural, Roy knew exactly what game she was playing.
It wasn't the first time.
Allie cast him a smoky-eyed glance; finding him unmoved, she hugged the documents to her chest, swayed her enticing figure like a runway model, and clicked away on her stilettos.
Once she was gone, Roy powered up his computer and searched for the latest news on the company's superheroes.
Spider-Man had foiled a bank robbery.
Spider-Woman had rescued people trapped in a burning building.
The Hulk had wiped out a Queens gang.
Daisy had busted a drug deal.
Harry had saved a woman attempting to jump off a rooftop… Apart from Tony, every one of them had headlines about rescues or crime-busting.
After a quick scan of the articles, Roy looked up reviews of Vought's superhero video games and films.
They were all undeniably big-budget productions.
Flush with cash and free of political-correctness concerns, the titles had earned solid reputations.
Just as he was wondering whether to try the new games, an upgrade notification flashed in his vision.
[System version update!]
[Update now?]
Though surprised, Roy didn't hesitate; he chose to update immediately.
[Updating…]
[Update complete!]
[mutant card drawing system (v3.0) bound!]
When the upgrade finished, Roy took a deep breath and opened the system panel with anticipation.
[mutant card drawing system (v3.0)]
[Host: Roy]
[Deck: SSR Magneto, SSR Iceman, SR - Gambit, SR - Pyro, SR Cyclops, R - Angel, R - Agent Zero, Fusion – Wolverine-Spider, fusion: ghost cat]
[Magnetic Field Rotation Power: 90,000 animals]
[normal draws: 6]
[advanced draws: 0]
[Card Fusions: 4]
[card fusion mission: none]
[Multiverse Instance: 1 (version update compensation)]
[system space: open]
…As the panel appeared, the changelog materialized in his mind.
Compared with the previous patch, this update was relatively modest.
Aside from displaying his Magnetic Field Rotation Power, version 3.0 had added only one new function: Multiverse Instance.
Multiverse Instance!
Travel to another Universe, complete the assigned instance, and receive an SSR card.
The exact task and which SSR card could only be discovered after arrival.
Glancing at the minimally changed interface, Roy closed the panel and teleported out of the office.
Skyscraper penthouse apartment.
Back home, he went straight to Daisy's room. "I'll be away for a while. While I'm gone, you're in charge of both the company and the Knights."
Hearing that, Daisy looked startled. "When will you be back?"
"Not sure."
Roy replied.
After a brief silence Daisy said, "I'll keep an eye on things—company and Knights. Don't worry."
Roy nodded, turned, and left her room.
In the study he pondered for a moment, then took the Tesseract from the system space.
The next second he vanished and reappeared in Antarctica.
He tossed the Tesseract back into the system space and reopened the panel, focusing on Multiverse Instance.
[Enter Multiverse Instance now?]
Not knowing which Universe awaited, Roy still chose "Yes" without hesitation.
The instant he did, an ink-black circular Portal Spellopened before him.
He studied it briefly, then stepped through without looking back.
Inside the portal he felt weightless, hurtling uncontrollably toward the exit.
Moments later he emerged from the tunnel-like gateway into a different Universe.
[Current Universe: X-Men Film Universe (2029)]
[Instance Objective: Change the fates of Wolverine and Professor X, rebuild the Mutant School.]
[Reward: SSR Professor X card]
Reading the mission, Roy's face showed surprise.
He hadn't expected the instance to be set in the X-Menfilm Universe, nor that the reward would be Professor X's card.
Save the aging Wolverine and the senile Professor X?
I like this mission!
After a moment of excitement, he calmed himself and began recalling every detail of the film "Logan."
Of all the released X-Men movies, Logan was his favorite, and he remembered every scene clearly…
