Chapter 82 - Mcu-A new adventure cap 82

Looking at Susan and catching her glancing at him from time to time, Peter smiled inwardly, satisfied that his plan was going well.

The recordings he brought to convince Franklin and Susan showed the guys who lent the money contacting Peter and explaining the inside information they had.

Since Peter was already investing these guys' money for a commission, it was logical that they would contact him to maximize the profits from this operation.

At that moment Peter finished 'reading' the documents and moved on to the next step of his plan.

"Franklin, come here," Peter said as he stretched back against the chair, stretching his spine and yawning from the effort he made 'reviewing' the documents on the table.

Franklin stood up and approached the table, with Susan behind him, as the young woman wanted to be aware of what was happening.

Although she didn't like the way her father was being bossed around, she knew they needed Peter's help to sort this out and prevent her father from going to prison.

"You're lucky I need some things in space and want to do it discreetly," Peter said as the two sat down across from him.

"What do you mean?" Susan asked, then looked at her father, who lowered his head in embarrassment.

"Well, your father has gone so far as to embezzle more than 100 million dollars from the company's accounts."

"And although it has gone unnoticed for now, it won't be forever," Peter said, handing over another document that indicated which account and when certain amounts of money were diverted, and Susan immediately began to review them.

And half an hour later, Susan sighed when she finished adding up the total amount of money embezzled.

$121 million was what his father had stolen from the company to pay off part of his debts.

And yet, he still owed $500 million to these disreputable people.

"Dad…" Susan said as she looked disappointedly at her father, and he lowered his head even further.

"I'm sorry, daughter."

"I promise this won't happen again," the man said.

"Of course it won't happen again," Peter said, cutting the man off and causing Susan to turn to look at him.

"What do you mean?" asked Susan.

Peter shrugged and said.

"It's not public information, but I own 4% of the shares in the Baxter group."

"I believe in the company's potential and plan to continue buying more shares in the future."

"Therefore, I will be watching your father's actions."

"I don't want to be robbed, so I hope you won't blame me if your father goes to prison for continuing to steal money from the company."

Upon hearing Peter's words, Susan was initially surprised that Peter Parker, the genius investor, thought so highly of the Baxter Group.

If other people knew about it and the information spread, it would cause a dizzying increase in the price of Baxter Group shares.

Even if Peter's expectations regarding the Baxter group were not made public, the mere fact that Parker Investments is buying shares in the Baxter group would cause a sensation.

But Susan had no plans to make this information public.

Besides the fact that Peter was helping them and it didn't seem right to take advantage of the situation, his father's freedom and the Baxter group were also at stake, so going after Peter wasn't beneficial.

Instead of wanting to take advantage of the situation, Susan was even more grateful to Peter for not taking advantage of it himself.

Even if he didn't make substantial profits by betting on the fall in the Baxter Group's share price before exposing his father's shares, Peter could still gain control of the Baxter Group in the future.

It should be noted that the Baxter group has a valuation of over $10 billion, so if Peter were to gain control of the company, he could obtain a great deal of power and status.

But remembering that the young man in front of her already had a net worth of 4 billion dollars, Susan could understand that the young man wasn't very interested in gaining control of the Baxter group when he could achieve more through his own talent.

Grateful and impressed with the young man in front of her, Susan nodded and promised herself to keep an eye on her father in the future so that he would not repeat the same behavior.

She would even leave her research position at the Baxter Building to manage the Baxter Group in place of her father if necessary.

"And what will happen to those people?"

"They know about my father's actions," Susan said, referring to the people to whom her father owed money.

Even without proof, if the rumors spread, it will trigger an investigation and the lack of money in the company's accounts will definitely be discovered.

Even if he tries hard to fix things, where will he get $121 million so soon?

But Susan didn't have to worry about that for long.

"I'll take care of them and the missing money right now," Peter said.

"I'll make sure to drag things out to give us enough time to replenish the company's accounts."

"Therefore, even if they come out and shout their assumptions and an investigation is launched, your father will not be in much danger even if they find something out of place."

"After all, money is no longer a problem."

"As long as your father doesn't continue doing the same thing, no one will be able to prove anything as long as he denies everything."

Susan sighed in relief and nodded, looking at her father and promising to keep an eye on him from now on.

He even began to think about giving up space travel and staying to watch over his father and help him with the management of the Baxter Group, but before that, Peter spoke again.

"Susan," Peter said, and Susan looked at him again.

With Susan's attention back on him, Peter continued.

"I want you to understand that the materials I want you to take into space are very important to me."

"If you take the payload I want into space, I promise I'll take care of the $500 million your father owes."

Although Peter had previously said that he would cover his father's debt in exchange for taking the cargo he wanted into space, Susan still felt more relieved hearing Peter say it again.

'Are those things really that important?' Susan wondered, since Peter was willing to spend that amount of money to have his group take a secret cargo into space.

Although it was wrong, Susan knew she didn't want her father to go to prison, so she accepted the deal.

The only thing that bothered him was that he would have to make the space trip to make sure that the things Peter wanted them to take were kept secret, when he wanted to stay here to keep an eye on his father.

"Peter…" said Susan and Peter heard Susan's request.

Although she appreciated Peter's help, she needed to make sure she had some insurance to feel more at ease before going into space.

Friday, February 4th was the scheduled launch day, and Susan and her team were already ready at the spaceport.

Besides the trip, Susan was also nervous about her father's situation and the company.

But since Peter had already given them the more than $120 million to fix the company's accounts and started buying more shares of the Baxter Group, Susan was a little more relieved than she would have been in another situation.

Since he owned more shares in the Baxter group, it would be detrimental to Peter if the company's shares fell.

And although she knew he was rich and had plenty of cash on hand, Susan was still surprised by how easily the young man could withdraw money.

Whether it's to settle the accounts at the company or to buy more shares in the Baxter group.

The amount of money Peter was willing to spend to secretly send what he wanted into space made Susan wonder what those things were.

But since she had promised not to check anything and since they were already in the warehouse, Susan couldn't verify it.

I was just waiting to find out what the future held.

Soon, the group had their uniforms on and headed towards the ship.

Although she no longer wanted to think about Reed, Susan had to thank the man for the uniforms he built and that the group wore under their spacesuits.

In addition to providing better protection from radiation in space, the material was very comfortable and regulated their body temperature, so they didn't feel suffocated under the bulky spacesuits.

And taking a deep breath to relieve the tension in her body, Susan boarded the spacecraft with the group, and hours later the rocket took off.
