Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : Where It All Began

Eden City,... once the most peaceful and beautiful city in the world.

Long ago, in the Skyend Galaxy on a planet called Heracles,The Year 777,.. a great scientific experiment was conducted by the Sovereign Nation, the highest ruling authority of this world. Their goal was to create a machine that could harness energy from meteors. Using it to defend the planet against cosmic threats.

The experiments proceeded smoothly with great success. Until one day, humanity faced a threat they had never encountered before. The largest meteor ever known to mankind: "Novarious X".

As large as an entire planet, with incalculable damage potential.

As this terrifying meteor hurled towards Planet Heracles. The fear of what, such a meteor could do to the planet, left the scientists frightened. Seeing no tangible solution, in a final, desperate effort, the Sovereign Nation harnessed all the power of their meteorite technology to fight back. Successful thwarting total annihilation.

Though the operation was successfull. Fragments from the Novarious X crashed into the planet, hurling towards a certain city.

The citizens of eden city, had little time to react before large building size rocks, exuding scorching heat appeared in the atmosphere. One moment the sky was clear the next, it was filled with flaming rocks. In no time the meteor framents crashed in to the ground. Wiping out buildings, houses, people. Before the dust settled, half of the city, was laid waste. Standing before the survivors,... a complete wasteland. Total deaths count,... over 100 million.

The city that once stood pride and tall, was now rendered a total wasteland. Poisonous, desolate, unstable and uninhabitable. With news of what had happened to Eden city, in a single day,...The Sovereign Nation, creator of such a catastrophe, took it upon themselves to rebuild the habitable part of Eden City. Over the span of 20 years, they had totally transformed the city to a better state than it was, even before the great disaster. With the help of their advanced technology, such a task was easy.

Years after the reconstruction of the city. surviving citizens were back to their normal lives, as if the great disaster had never happened. But all this was short lived as an unusual phenomenon was discovered. People who had survived the direct onslaught of the great disaster, began mutating, each exhibiting strange powers. Some the ability to control objects (Telekinesis), Some, read thoughts (Telepathy), and lastly those who could teleport,

These individuals were called Psions, and their power was known as Psyche. The rise of these mutated individuals, were a cause of concern, but after some time they were accepted into society. At first, it was a period of peace. The Psions helped Eden City become the most successful city in the Mid Region. eventually becoming so powerful that it became an individual Nation. Eden Country.

All of this was accomplished under the leadership of Muriem, the strongest Psion.

He ensured a time of peace, where all citizens could live good lives, free from worries. Everything was good and prosperous until one day, an unexpected event took place. A group of Psions staged a revolt killing the current leader. After the His death, things took a drastic turn. The Psions became divided, with the most powerful of them taking control of different sections of Eden Country.

Under their reign, terror ensued. They began demanding protection fees and tributes from the sectors they now ruled. The city they had once protected, they now terrorized. Those who were unable to pay the tribute or protection fees were either killed or taken as slaves. The males as laborers and the females as property. In some sectors, the weaker Psions, without a sector to rule, began robbing, killing, committing sexual assault, and carrying out other heinous crimes.

The once-great country had descended into chaos and violence. Those who could not bear the torment tried to protest, but they were all killed. In the search for freedom, some brave individuals, through many sacrifices, managed to contact the Sovereign Nation. But their hopes were destroyed when they found out the truth. The very people who helped rebuild their city, were the ones responsible for the revolt and the killing of the Psion leader, Muriem. It turned out that Muriem had refused to give the Sovereign Nation access to Eden's growing resources. And was developing the country to become independent.

To stop his expansion, the Sovereign Nation contacted a group of greedy and jealous Psions, promising them power and wealth in exchange for assassinating their leader.

Knowing how powerful Muriem and those directly under him were, the Sovereign Nation provided the conspirators with Psyche Dampeners devices capable of temporarily disabling a Psion's powers.

Once the plan was ready, the traitorous Psions rallied a small group under them and attacked the leader and his subordinates. After a fierce battle, they were defeated.

Realizing they couldn't overpower Muriem and his inner circle, they activated the Psyche Dampeners, disabling everyone's powers.

Even without his powers, the leader, still stronger than most fought back and defeated them. But just as he was about to deliver their punishment for betrayal, he was stabbed in the back by one of his most trusted subordinates and killed. Immediately after his death, the remaining loyal subordinates were ambushed and killed, with only a few managing to escape.

Not long after, the traitorous Psions seized control of the city.

Years later, after the coup, the Sovereign Alliance reached out to the now chaotic city, requesting an alliance. Due to the new minerals discovered in the polluted part of the country, the Sovereign Nation saw value in partnering with the new leaders of Eden Country to trade for the mineral resources. These minerals were fragments from the Novarious X, great disaster.

They could be used to create various resources that enabled major scientific breakthroughs and also served as a stable energy source.

The Psions were unable to extract the minerals themselves. Seeing no other option, they accepted the Sovereign Nation's offer. In exchange for the minerals, the Sovereign Nation provided food and technology to maintain the city. Eventually, Eden Country became weak, loosing its status as a nation. It later came to be known as Hades City. Or as many called it, "The City of the Damned".

Ten years later, a new development shook the world. The Sovereign Nation had created psyche V-9. A special drug that temporarily granted the user, the ability of the psions Due to its constant rise, people began secretly smuggling it into Hades City. People from outside who wanted to help its citizens fight against the Psions.

Even with how powerful the drug was, there was a catch. The drug, in exchange for powers, shortened the users lifespan and was only effective against weaker Psions. Still for many people, it was worth the risk.

As time passed, the situation grew more chaotic. Regular Criminals began using the drug to commit crimes. Unable to cope with the changes, people who were once fighting against the psions now began turning to crime to survive.

Eventually, a curfew was enforced by the human authorities appointed by the Psion leaders. It was put in place to reduce the slaughter of too many people.
