Yamazaki Manor, Year 2311.
Seiki.
Sir Nighteye, real name Mirai Sasaki.
Japan's #29th ranked hero.
A well respected pro with his own agency, a time-viewing Quirk, and a couple strands of thick yellow hair flowing through his green, eerily similar to that of Narumi's.
'It seems that both of their outings were fruitful last night,' Seiki thought absentmindedly.
"How did we never learn about this?" his mother asked as she skimmed through Sir Nighteye's hero-page, her disbelief apparent. The question was probably rhetorical... but Seiki still had a pretty good idea.
"Because he's a hero," he answered, his voice tinged with amusement. "The HPSC had to've known about this connection, but they never bothered to tell us... because they don't control Sir Nighteye. Not to mention that he was All Might's sidekick for a while," Seiki added, something that he never even knew the first time around. Seiki had never gone out of his way to google Japan's #1 hero, but it was still pretty odd that he hadn't known about him. Given Seiki's circumstances, it didn't make sense that he hadn't accidentally stumbled across it... unless that little tidbit was purposefully being kept from him.
'Bastards.'
"You want to meet him, don't you?" Seiki eventually asked.
"Is... is that okay?" his mother asked, clearly hesitant.
Seiki hummed. "He is a hero... and both of us are villains, so based on that alone, he would have to arrest us," to which Narumi deflated. "But there's no harm in trying. I can always give him an interview, and if push comes to shove, I can always undo it," he offered. Seiki knew just how much family meant to her, so he couldn't bare to shoot down her one chance at finally meeting one of her relatives.
He loved his mom far too much for that.

Nighteye Agency.
Mirai.
Sitting alone in his office, his forehead slumped against his desk, Mirai Sasaki sighed.
Mirai [img]
Mirai was tired.
He worked far less than he did when he was by All Might's side– the amount of paperwork that Toshinori left for him on a daily basis had been staggering– but even now that he was paperwork free, Mirai was still tired.
Mirai had tried to get All Might to hang up his cape. He really did.
But no. Toshinori Yagi was determined to die.
And as much as he had admired (and still did admire) his friend, Mirai couldn't bare to watch it happen. Mirai couldn't bare to watch as All Might slowly deteriorated, to watch as his friend strained himself further and further. Until the Symbol of Peace was finally done in by his injuries, by the next big villain, or a mixture of the two.
So he opened his own agency.
Right from the start, he hired Juzo Moashi, a.k.a. Centipeder. The kid had a good work ethic, a decent Quirk, and most importantly, a thousand hands– the perfect Quirk for doing all of his paperwork. 'You're my hero, Centipeder-san,' Mirai thought fondly. Hiring the man has been one of, if not the best decision of his entire hero career. And just a few months prior, Mirai accepted Kaoruko Awata, a.k.a Bubble Girl, as an intern. She was kind of ditzy, but she made up for it with her drive and skills. Not to mention that her Quirk was good for crowd control, something that Sir Nighteye and Centipeder lacked. And while Mirai knew that both of them were fine heroes in their own right... neither of them were exactly 'Symbol' material.
"He's not even looking for a successor," Mirai grumbled into his desk, his forehead still slumped against it.
Yes, All For One was dead, but the world still had One For All.
And Japan needed a Symbol. A Symbol that would last.
Finally sitting up in his chair, Mirai leaned back and let out a small sigh. 'I need something to get my mind off of this...' and as if the universe was listening in, his desk phone rung.
RING RING RING!
"You've reached Sir Nighteye," he answered immediately. Why did he have a desk phone, in the year 2311? Not even Sir Nighteye himself knew the answer to that question.
*Uh, Sir?* the phone crackled, and Mirai instantly recognized that it was his intern, calling him from the first floor. *I, uh... I think your sister is here?*
Mirai blanked.
"My what?"
*
"Um, I did a bit of digging, and I think I'm your sister– well, half-sister," Narumi corrected, clearly a bit nervous sitting across from him, her long lost relative. "I know your father split with your mother a while back, and his hair was yellow... and well, I never knew my parents..." she trailed off, and Mirai could see it.
With a single streak of yellow shooting through her purple hair, as well as a time-viewing Quirk like his own, there was almost certainly a blood connection. She was Narumi Yamazaki, his supposed half-sister, and she was more than 10 years younger than him. And sitting right next to her was Seiki Yamazaki, Narumi's son– and his supposed nephew.
Who was in freakishly good shape for an 11 year old. 'His Quirk, perhaps?'
But despite his decades of hero training, Mirai had no idea how to react to this information.
So he kept a perfectly straight face.
"I'm happy to learn about you... but I have to ask. Why now, after all this time?"
That was the question, wasn't it?
At first, Mirai thought it was for his 'money.' Yes, he was loosely connected to All Might, and he was rather frugal... but no. They were not here for his 'money.' Given the way they were dressed up in designer clothes, the top-of-the-line SUV that they pulled up in, and the two female guards as well as a chauffeur (that was dressed as maid, for some reason,) that they arrived with, it was very clear to Mirai that his sister and nephew did NOT need his money.
Then Mirai wondered if it was for his connections, but that was an even weaker argument.
No, the truth of the matter was, surprisingly...
"We just didn't know," Narumi huffed. "It wasn't until someone had pointed out my hair and my Quirk, and then mentioned you, that we realized you existed," she said with a sigh, before quickly blushing at her words. "Uh, um, not that you're not popular–!"
"No worries, I'm not offended," Mirai cut her off, his lips thinning. On purpose. To purposefully put on the front that he was offended. When in truth, he couldn't care less.
To which Narumi, his supposed half-sister, instantly put her head in her hands. "Oh my god, I can't believe I said that. That was so stupid!" At that, Mirai was read to intervene, thinking that his little 'joke' had gone to far... but then she said, "Seiki, please start us over. I don't think I'll ever live that down..."
To which Mirai just raised an eyebrow, looking over at his nephew.
"I'm sorry?"
"Well I guess this is as good of a time as any," Seiki said with a small smile, leaning forward in his chair, "for your interview."
In an instant, Mirai– no, Sir Nighteye was on high alert. His instincts screaming at him, telling him that his nephew was no mere boy, but a threat like no other. His nephew's presence easily on par with– no, surpassing all of the villains that he's ever faced.
All except for one.
"Interview?" Mirai parroted, still rooted in his seat.
"First question. What's your stance on the Commission?"
"The Hero Public Safety Commission?" Mirai asked in turn, his interest in his supposed nephew rising by the second.
"The very same."
"Hmm... I would have to say I'm a bit mixed. Some of their policies I don't like, or even agree with, but I understand that they are a necessary force. Society needs Pro Heroes, and Pro Heroes need to be kept in check."
Seiki nodded at that. "That's a fair assessment. But what if the Commission went too far? For example, take this hypothetical. What if they bought a child off one of it's parents, slowly pushed the other parent to their breaking point, all while raising said child as a child soldier, as an assassin... all in the name of Japan?"
Mirai tensed, his nails digging into his palms in silent fists. Watching Seiki's face, seeing the flashes of anger, rage, and revulsion... it made it perfectly clear.
This was no hypothetical.
"What did they do?" Mirai asked, almost afraid to hear the answer...
And his nephew confirmed those very fears.
With a Quirk that lets him 'simulate the future,' Seiki's first simulation was simply about revealing his Quirk. Seiki told him about how the HPSC would have swooped in, buying him off of his father, and slowly driving a wedge through his mother. About how they would have raised him to be a weapon, dulling his emotions, his trauma responses, everything. To mold him into a 'hero' that was perfectly fine with living for Japan, and only Japan.
That he would have been one of many, albeit the only other one he knew of was Hawks.
And after all of that...
"So tell me. Can I trust you, Mirai Sasaki?"
Mirai wanted to say yes. He really did. But even though the Hero Public Safety Commission was clearly in the wrong here, they were still the HPSC. His nephew might be his nephew... but he was also a threat that he was required to report to them, by law. Not reporting it would be treason. It was far too soon for him to pick one or the other... but for now, Mirai was willing to side with his newfound family.
"Yes," Mirai eventually answered, willing to give Seiki and Narumi the benefit of the doubt.
"What if I told you that I used my Quirk illegally, to make money?" his nephew asked, still staring him down. Mirai didn't miss the way that his left iris, the red one, swirled. "I make somewhere around a 20% return every month– well, I've toned it down quite a bit once we made it big, but you get the idea."
Mirai's lips thinned, for real this time. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think that you didn't want me to trust you."
"I'd appreciate your trust... but at the same time, all it would take is one little trip to the Commission for you to ruin both of our lives. Forever."
"I... I can look past it." Mirai eventually answered.
Seiki hummed. "But what if I told you that I killed my father?"
"Pardon?"
"The first time around, the bastard pawned me off to the government, abandoning my mother in the process," his nephew stated, the disgust clear in his voice. "And after finding that out, Narumi wanted nothing more to do with him, a decision that I supported in earnest," he continued, and Sir Nighteye did not miss the way Seiki's fingers dug into the arms of his chair. "But then he hit her." Seiki uttered, his voice no louder than a whisper. His voice tinged with a rage so potent that Sir Nighteye couldn't help but swallow the saliva in his throat. "And given that he was the primary breadwinner, as well as my blood related father, we didn't have many options. So I did what I had to do to keep my mother safe."
Silence.
Mirai's thoughts warred with themselves. Seiki Yamazaki had just admitted to murder, but at the same time, he was conflicted. And the silence reigned on as Mirai failed to come up with an answer to Seiki's statements, or even an action. No one spoke for a long time, but eventually, that silence was broken... by none other than Narumi.
"Forget it," his half-sister muttered, her voice wavering as she gently grabbing Seiki's forearm. "Let's just go back. We don't have to..." she gulped, tears falling from her eyes. "Fuck, I'm being stupid. And selfish. He's a hero, he wouldn't understand. He might be my brother... but you're my son. I'd never risk your safety– our safety– over someone I've never met." Narumi said, her words caring a tone of finality to them.
"Are you sure? Not only is he hesitating, a huge point in his favor... but he's your brother," his nephew stated, who seemed to be on his side.
But there was just one little thing about their exchange that bothered Mirai.
'Why are they talking like... like I'm not even here?'
"Oh... okay." Narumi answered, biting her lip. "But don't risk your safety. Never, ever risk your safety for anything, especially this."
And that was when it finally clicked for Mirai Sasaki.
'Simulating the future... wait, how would the simulation ever know that it was just that, a simulation–!'
LOAD2.
*
"Narumi and Seiki Yamazaki..." Mirai spoke aloud to an empty office. "My half-sister, and my nephew."
What a turn of events.
They had arrived at his agency out of the blue, introduced themselves, and left.
Just like that.
There was no motives, nothing.
One moment, Mirai Sasaki was sort of lost on what to do, lamenting over his 'break up,' but now he had... family.
A faint smile found its way onto Mirai's lips.
"A nephew, huh?" he muttered, thinking back to their meeting. The boy was oddly polite, and was in incredible shape. Such good shape, in fact, that he thought it was his Quirk... but Mirai couldn't have been more wrong.
"It's called Trickshot. It let's me make, well, trick shots."
It was reminiscent of the Pro Hero Snipe, but there was a subtle difference. Seiki wasn't a telekinetic, but had absolute control over a portion of his body– his hands, to be exact. So while Trickshot's range was nowhere near that of Snipe's Homing, it more than made up for it with its incredible accuracy. And while the Quirk by itself was pretty niche, and wasn't really something that you'd see topping the hero charts... the boy had an incredible drive. Seiki's physique proved that much, at the very least.
So naturally, Mirai knew that his nephew wanted to be a Hero.
Because why else would Seiki Yamazaki ever push himself to such a degree?
"I wonder if he'd like some pointers," Mirai muttered, leaning back in his chair. And if Seiki was able to meet his ridiculously high standards, he might even recommend the boy to Yuuei when the time came.
