Chapter 2 - Two

"I'll get him back," Kieran spat through gritted teeth, watching the car's taillights disappear. His fists trembled. "I don't care who you are, Dante Perez, you won't take what's mine."

He stormed into the house, his boots thudding hard against the floorboards. His anger boiled over, wild and consuming. Every memory, every picture, every trace of Noah mocked him. With a roar, Kieran swept his arm across the table, smashing dishes against the wall. Chairs toppled. The old sofa split open as he tore at it, his chest heaving.

His pheromones filled the room, thick and choking, Alpha dominance spilling like fire through every corner. The walls seemed to tremble with his fury.

In the corner, Rico crouched, his body trembling uncontrollably. His face was pale, his knees pulled tight to his chest. "Kieran, please, stop!" His voice cracked, tears spilling down his cheeks. "You're scaring me, please, calm down!"

But Kieran was deaf to everything. His growls shook the small home, his breaths ragged, eyes burning with rage. "I'll destroy him!" he bellowed. "I'll tear Dante apart with my bare hands!"

Rico pressed his forehead to the wall, shaking. "Please, Kieran… please…"

Finally, after what felt like hours, Kieran's shoulders slumped. His chest heaved, his hands bleeding from the wreckage he'd caused. The house was silent except for Rico's soft sobs. Slowly, the oppressive weight of Kieran's pheromones faded.

When dawn broke, Kieran found Rico moving quietly around the house. Somehow, he had cleaned the broken glass, set the chairs back up, even made breakfast. The smell of fried eggs and bread lingered in the air, but Kieran didn't touch it. His jaw clenched, and without a word, he grabbed his jacket.

Rico stood at the doorway, hesitant. "Kieran… where are you going? Let me come with you"

Kieran's voice was cold, sharp as steel. "Stay here, Rico. Don't follow me."

His tone cut Rico's words short. He only nodded, watching Kieran leave with a heavy heart.

.....

Noah's parents house stood neat and polished, a world away from Kieran's broken furniture and sleepless nights.

Noah's mother, a tall, sharp featured Alpha, met him at the door. Her eyes were cool, her stance radiating dominance. "What do you want, Kieran?"

Kieran's voice trembled with restrained anger. "I came to tell you what your son has done. He left me" He swallowed hard. "He left me for Dante Perez. After everything I've done for him, after everything I've given..."

She cut him off with a scoff. "Good. I never supported you two anyway. Noah deserves better than a low ranking Alpha who can't give him a proper life." Her tone was blunt, almost cruel. "Dante Perez is the CEO of Perez Group. He has wealth, influence, and power. He can take care of Noah in ways you never could. I'm glad my son finally realized it."

Her words pierced through Kieran.

Kieran's eyes flicked to the man standing quietly behind her. Noah's father, an Omega, avoided his gaze. His lips stayed sealed, too afraid to oppose his wife, but his eyes held sorrow and silent sympathy.

That hurt worst of all.

Kieran turned on his heel, fury still bubbling in his chest, but his steps felt heavier.

As he walked back home, his hands clenched into fists. His rage simmered, his vow echoing louder than ever in his mind.

If no one else will fight for me, then I'll fight for myself. And I'll make them all regret underestimating me.

The house still smelled faintly of breakfast when Kieran returned, but he didn't glance at the food or at Rico hovering by the door. His movements were mechanical, he washed up, dressed himself, grabbed his work jacket.

"Kieran," Rico's voice was soft, pleading. "Please, tell me where you're going. Talk to me, just once."

Kieran didn't answer.

At the factory, the air felt heavier than usual. He could sense the stares, the whispers. News traveled fast in town, and everyone already knew.

"Hey, isn't that the guy?" one voice murmured too loudly.

"His Omega left him for Dante Perez, of all people," another laughed.

"Pathetic. He Couldn't even keep his omega satisfied or under control."

Kieran clenched his fists, jaw tightening. He pushed through the laughter, heading to his station, but then one of his coworkers, Kellan, a smug Beta with a sharp tongue, leaned too close.

"Tell me, Kieran," Kellan sneered, "did he scream Perez's name when he left you? Or did he just pack up and run, like everyone expected?"

The mocking laughter that followed broke the last thread of his restraint.

With a roar, Kieran lunged. His fist connected with Kellan's jaw, sending him sprawling. The two clashed, fists flying, shouts echoing through the factory floor. Others rushed to pull them apart, but Kieran's fury burned too hot, his Alpha strength too much to contain.

By the time his boss arrived, the damage was done.

"Kieran." The older man's voice was cold, final. "You're finished here. Get out."

Kieran froze. His chest heaved, blood on his knuckles, sweat running down his temple. He was fired, just like that. Another piece of his world crumbling.

He had been working in the factory since high school, he didn't have the money to continue his education. Being an orphan, his only choice was to start working. He had used his salary to take care of Noah and this was how he was repaid.

.....

The bar was dim, the air thick with smoke and stale alcohol. Kieran sat hunched over the counter, a glass of whiskey in his hand. He didn't even like the taste, but the burn dulled the ache in his chest, just for a moment.

One drink turned into two. Then three.

His thoughts blurred with every swallow, memories clawing back through the haze.

Noah's face, bright, shy, the first day they met. That day, Kieran had stepped between him and a group of older Alphas who thought an Omega was easy prey. Kieran had scared them off with nothing but his presence, then turned to find Noah looking up at him with wide, grateful eyes.

From that moment, Kieran had been lost.

He remembered how Noah had smiled when he brought him food, how he'd laughed nervously when Kieran teased him. How fragile he had seemed, and how fiercely Kieran had wanted to protect him.

He had given Noah everything, his time, his strength, his future. He had built a life around him. A home. A promise.

And now?

He was sitting in a bar, empty handed. Noah was in the arms of another man. And not just any man, Dante Perez, rich, powerful, untouchable.

The whiskey burned down his throat, but it didn't ease the weight pressing on his chest.

"This is how I'm repaid?" he muttered, his voice breaking as the bartender looked away. "After everything I gave him, this is all I get?"

His hands trembled around the glass. His reflection in the counter stared back at him, angry, broken and unrecognizable.

For the first time, Kieran wondered if he had already lost everything.
