Chapter 3 - Chapter 3. 3rd circle station

"Son! Wake up, you're gonna be late for school." A mother shouted at her sleeping son as she prepared breakfast on the table.

"Hmm. So tired, I don't want to go to school." The young man grumbled struggling to stand up from his bed.

"What time is it?" He said, looking around for the nearest clock in his room. "It's...what time is that?"

Wiping his eyes to get rid of the haziness, he managed to see much clearer now. "7:10 AM..." He said in a small voice.

"7:10 AM!! I'm gonna be late!" He yelled out running to his bathroom to take a shower.

His mother looks at him with a disappointed face watching him rush over his shower. "You're at fault for playing games till 2 in the morning." His mother remarked.

---

"Ma, bye." The man yelled to his mother as he ran to the nearest station bus.

As he got to the station, the last bus was about to close its door.

Seeing this he began to scream as loud as he could to stop the driver from closing it.

"Wait! I'm here, wait for me!!" He screamed out.

Hearing the pleading voice of his customer, the driver waited for him.

As the student entered the bus, he looked at him and said:

"Still playing games till 2 a.m.? If I weren't your uncle, you'd have missed this bus."

"Yes, yes. I won't do it again. So can I take a seat now? Everyone's looking at me, it's embarrassing." The students replied to the driver.

"Shut up. If you weren't my nephew I would leave you behind and make you miss your home room teacher." The driver pointed at him to sit down and finally left the station.

Sitting in the empty seat, the student looked outside the window.

The same sight was before him, giant walls that separated the living area and the outside world. His village was located near the walls. Making this sight an everyday event for him.

"Awakening..." He whispers, thinking about those who have powers and gain the chance to leave outside the wall.

"It sounds amazing at first but it's a dangerous thing to do." Fixing himself, the student closed his eyes till he reached his school.

"Alright, class, quiet! I'm taking the attendance now." The teacher remarked as she stood up from her table.

As she was about to start, she saw a student sneaking in from the back door. Turning his back like he was about to go outside instead of going in.

"Mr Siern, what do you think you're doing?" She asked stopping the Siern from his action. Along with it, catching the attention of every student in the room to the two of them.

"Going to the restroom?" Siern replied keeping a steady voice.

"Sure. So why do you have your bag with you then?" She asked waiting for a reply. "Can't answer?" She raised a brow.

Siern, who could not make any excuses, only turned his face to the teacher and said. "Sorry won't do this again."

"Yeah right. That's what you said a week ago too." The teacher said, gesturing for him to sit down.

...

As the teacher continues to take attendance. Siern was talking to his right side seatmate about going to the computer shop after school.

"Siern how much do you have on you today?" Mark asked, showing his allowance of {239} for today.

"Here's mine," Siern replied showing his {1082}.

"Damn. That's a lot, we can rent out a private room if the others have the same amount as mine too." Mark said to Siern as he called out their other friends.

"Boys at the back quiet down. Do your planning after I'm done taking the attendance." The teacher shouted at them.

After the teacher completed the attendance, the students were given time to spend on their own.

In this moment, Mark, Siern, and his three other friends were planning and talking about what they were gonna eat at the computer shop tonight.

As the thought of food came to Siern's mind. He turns back and asks his right side seatmate what he'll get tonight.

"Hey Lean, what are you eating tonight?" He said only to see no one sitting on his left. "Huh? Lean..."

The teacher, looking at Siern and his friends, with confused looks on their faces at the empty seat, called out to the class and announced something to them.

"Alright, class, look at me and listen carefully." She said, clapping her hands to get their attention, only for Siern cut her off and asked.

"Ma'am, where's Lean?" He said, with his friends having the same looks as he does.

"Quiet. That was what I was gonna say." She said clearing her throat and waiting for the class to gather their attention to her.

"Anyway, you guys may not realize but Lean. You're classmate has not been coming to class for the last two weeks already." As she continued, another student shouted.

"Did a monster attack get him at his home?" The student said alarming the other students. A bit of panic was created inside the room.

"What? No. Of course not. If a monster ever gets inside the wall, an announcement would happen." She quickly yelled back to calm the class down.

"He's not dead, or a monster attacked his home, or anything like that. Instead, he awakened two weeks ago. The morning he awakened he called me and said he won't be coming to school anymore to test out his abilities."

The teacher said to the class that as soon as everyone heard her, the students began to imagine what kind of ability he awakened.

Seeing their curious looks, the teacher wondered if it was all right to tell them what kind of power system he had. As one of the students asked she didn't hesitate to answer.

"He didn't really tell me much about what kind of ability he had, but he said he has a [System] type awakening." She proudly announced to the student.

"A system power? Is that rare and strong?" a student asked.

"It's rare, dude, from 10,000+ supernatural beings that awaken around the globe every year, only 10-150 people become one." Another replied.

"Are they strong from the very beginning?"

"Well, not really, it takes a long time for them to get stronger than the others. But they eventually get stronger than those who already reach their limit."

The student paused for a second and asked. "Don't you play games?"

"I do. Not those with a level-up system though."

Seeing how the students talk to each other, she clapped her hands to get their attention again.

"He already has skills with him. So for the last two weeks, he's been practicing these skills of his, so he can protect himself outside the territory." She walked back to her table.

"Anyway. That's about it. He's not really coming back to this school anymore. And in one week from now. He and I will go to the (Main circle station) so he can leave this place and kill monsters outside the walls."

She yawned for a moment before continuing.

"Feel free to go back to what you were doing before. But don't call him or go to his house for at least a few months, he needs this time to learn his ability to increase his survivability outside the walls." She said before going back to sleep.

[Student name: Lean

Age: 17

Year: 12

Section: 7

Gender: Male.

Height: 5'9.

Hair/eyes colors: Black.]

"This is his basic information on the school data," Lea whispers, looking at the screen of the data of Lean on her tablet.

"To think he'd awaken as a system player. I remember how he's been a student in this school since he was at six grade." Surprised by how he became one.

"A typical student with nothing special, he was your average student with average grades and looks." Thinking about how he's been going to this school since he was young.

"Besides the fact that his mother went and volunteered for that experiment a year ago, there's nothing special about him." She remembered how she gave the money to him at his home back then.

"An introverted student who's not a victim of bullying and is not being avoided by anyone. If you talk to him, he'll talk back, if you ask him to go to this place, he'll go too." Remembering how easy he got along with his classmates.

"I remember asking him to volunteer for some school events and getting second or third place in them. He won't hesitate to do something if you ask him nicely." A student who won't say no if a teacher asks him to do something he can do.

"But he's not easy to bully either. If you hit him with the intention of bullying, he won't hesitate to fight back ." Sipping her coffee as she thought about what happened in his 9th-grade year.

"Back then, some students mocked his mother for being old and would hit him randomly if they met."

Thinking about that day, Lea remembered how multiple students were on the ground groaning in pain with destroyed chairs on their sides. While Lean was mocking them as they cried in pain.

Stopping for a moment and remembering how horrible things went back then.

"When the students were on the ground and were crying in pain, he went and mocked them back and stripped them naked and burned their clothes down." Lea shrugged for a moment.

"Those students' parents went and complained about the bullying that happened to their children. I don't even remember how that ended back then and how he's still going to school all this time."

Laughing for a moment at the memory, Lea wondered how he was doing now.

"Well. Except for all this, the only thing I can say is special about him is his low presence. Even after two weeks of not going to class, his friends didn't even realize it." Standing up from her chair and looking outside the window.

"The other thing special about him is how his family doesn't have any middle and last names... Right now, he's probably pushing himself to train his skills."

"..."

"Though I wondered how he awakened? Not like his power randomly falls down right in front of him." Lea thought off with a smile.
