Chapter 3 - Chapter 2 – The Stranger in the Rain

🌑 Anaya's POV

I should've walked away.

Every nerve screamed at me to keep going. To pretend I hadn't seen him.

But I didn't.

I stood there in the rain, staring at the man bleeding on the pavement. His uniform looked torn out of a history book, his boots caked with mud that didn't belong to these streets.

"Sir… are you—are you okay?" My voice wavered, breath clouding in the cold air.

His eyes snapped to me. Sharp. Piercing. Too intense for someone who could barely breathe.

I flinched. My chest tightened in a way I hated. My Alexmethiya made it worse. I couldn't even name what I was feeling. Fear? Pity? Something… more dangerous?

"Don't—leave," he rasped. His accent was thick, his voice hoarse, like he had swallowed smoke.

My hands clenched. Logic screamed to call the police. Or an ambulance. But something told me if I did, I'd never see this man again.

And for reasons I didn't understand—I didn't want that.

So I bent down. "You can't stay here."

His body was heavier than it looked, but I slipped his arm over my shoulder anyway. The scent of iron and earth clung to him, foreign and terrifying.

I didn't know why I was helping him. Maybe because no one had helped me when I needed it most.

⚔️ Hitler's POV

Her touch was strange. Gentle, yet trembling.

I didn't know where I was, but her presence anchored me in this chaos. The lights, the sounds, the roaring machines—all of it was madness. But her? She was real. Solid.

My breath came ragged, my chest burning. I had seen countless women before. Nurses in the camps, mothers in the villages, girls who prayed to stay alive. But none of them looked at me like she did.

She looked at me like I was a puzzle. Dangerous. Broken. But not entirely hopeless.

"Who… are you?" My voice cracked.

Her lips pressed into a thin line. "Someone who shouldn't be doing this."

But she didn't let go.

As she helped me walk, I noticed the way her hair stuck to her cheek, the way her hands shook but never pulled away. My war had ended… and yet, standing beside her, a new war was beginning inside me.

And I knew—I wouldn't let her slip away.

🐾 Azul's POV

Foolish girl.

I watched from the shadows, every muscle in my body tense. She touched him. She helped him.

Did she not see it? The danger in his eyes? The hunger? The way he looked at her like she was oxygen?

My claws itched beneath my skin. The rain made it worse. I couldn't follow too close. Water was poison to me. But I wouldn't let her walk away with him unchecked.

The man didn't belong here. His scent told me everything—smoke, fire, history clinging to his skin. He was out of time. Out of place. Out of control.

And Anaya… she was too fragile to see it.

If he tried to hurt her, I would tear him apart.

Even if it meant exposing what I truly was.
