Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Death is Just the Prologue

One second, I was scrolling through anime memes on my phone. The next… splat.

Don't ask me what happened. Maybe I tripped into traffic, maybe Truck-kun got tired of hunting down light novel protagonists and decided I was next on the list. Either way, my life ended in the most anticlimactic way possible. No epic speech. No dramatic soundtrack. Just—blackness.

When I opened my eyes again, I wasn't in my room. I wasn't even anywhere recognizable. The world around me was an endless void of starlight, like I'd been dropped into the middle of the Milky Way screensaver.

"…Huh. Guess I died." My voice echoed into the nothing.

"Correct."

I spun around. Out of the darkness stepped… something. Someone. A figure cloaked in radiant energy, with eyes that swirled like galaxies. They didn't walk so much as exist, every movement bending reality itself around them.

I should have been terrified. Instead, I was… kind of excited.

"Holy crap," I whispered. "This is it, isn't it? The big moment. ROB, The One Above All, insert-random-godlike-being-here. I'm finally getting my isekai route!"

The being tilted its head, clearly bemused. "You mortals are… fascinating. So quick to accept the incomprehensible."

"Please," I scoffed, crossing my arms. "I've read Jobless Reincarnation, Slime Isekai, Misfit of Demon King Academy. This is textbook stuff. You're gonna offer me reincarnation with a few wishes. Am I right, or am I right?"

For a moment, silence. Then, softly—laughter. Like stars bursting into life.

"You amuse me. Very well, little dreamer. Speak your desires."

I grinned so hard my cheeks hurt. This was it. My chance. My golden ticket into the worlds I loved. And if I only got one shot, I was going to milk it for all it was worth.

"First," I said, raising a finger dramatically, "I wish to be the greatest magical genius in the entire multiverse. No one's ever gonna beat me when it comes to magic theory or innovation."

The being's eyes glimmered faintly. "Ambitious."

"Second, I want infinite mana—like a Magic Breeder Reactor from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. I'll never run dry, never collapse after a spell."

"Power without limit…"

"Third," I said, my grin stretching even wider, "I want to look like Elaina. The Wandering Witch. Gorgeous silver hair, witch's hat, the whole aesthetic. She's literally goals."

The figure arched a brow. "…Appearance as a fictional character. Curious."

"Oh, I'm not done." I lifted another hand, smug. "Fourth, I want to wield all types of magic. Every fiction. Every multiverse. You name it, I want it. Marvel sorcery, anime curses, game spells—mine."

The stars themselves flickered, as though reality was listening.

"And lastly," I finished, placing a hand over my heart like a knight swearing an oath, "I want a mental library. A vault of every scrap of magical knowledge across every world. Perfect memory, perfect comprehension. The ultimate magical database in my head."

The void went still. The godlike figure simply stared at me for what felt like an eternity.

"…You do realize I only said three wishes."

I smiled my brightest anime fangirl smile. "Yeah, but come on—you're a god. You can bend the rules. Besides, every good isekai protagonist cheats."

Another long silence. Then—laughter. Real, unrestrained laughter that rippled through the cosmos, shaking the stars until I thought the entire universe might collapse.

"Very well," the entity said at last, amusement dancing in their cosmic eyes. "Your greed amuses me. For my entertainment, I shall grant them all. But remember this, little witch—power attracts power. And in the Marvel multiverse… even gods tremble before what lies beyond."

Before I could respond, my soul ignited in white flame. A thousand voices screamed in harmony as reality unraveled and rewove itself around me. My body melted, reshaped, rebuilt. And then—

I opened my eyes.

I wasn't myself anymore. I was her. Long silver hair brushed against my shoulders, a pointed witch's hat shadowed my face, and I felt power thrumming beneath my skin like an eternal storm.

And deep inside me, I knew the truth.

I was a La Fay. Descendant of Morgan herself.

And this was only the prologue of my story.
