Chapter 10 - The Betrayer’s Eclipse

By the time dawn broke over Silverhollow, Luna knew sleep wouldn't come again.

Her dreams had been filled with whispers—half words, foreign symbols etched in silver light across a black void. Every time she reached out, they slipped through her fingers like stardust.

Yoongi stirred beside her, his arms instinctively tightening around her waist.

"You're shaking," he murmured, voice hoarse with sleep.

"The dreams are getting worse," she said quietly.

"What did you see?"

"Not what. Who. She spoke again. The Moon."

That got his attention. He sat up slowly, watching her.

"And?"

"She said 'The blood of the betrayer walks again. Find him before the eclipse, or you'll lose everything.'"

Yoongi went still.

"Betrayer."

"I think She means someone from the original Moon Circle. One of the bloodlines that turned on Her during the first fall."

Yoongi ran a hand through his hair, exhaling. "The Elders will try to bury this."

"Then we dig it up."

In the Council Hall, Luna stood before them once more, this time with Yoongi at her right and Jimin casually lounging on her left, sipping spiced tea like it was wine.

"You can't be serious," Elder Myrix said, face pale. "You're accusing a High House of betrayal?"

"No," Luna said calmly. "I'm warning you. The Moon doesn't lie. One of our own is working with the rogues—or worse."

A murmur ran through the Council.

"If true, this endangers us all."

"It is true," Yoongi said, voice like steel.

Jimin straightened. "And guess what? There's been movement on the eastern border. A rogue attack two nights ago. Strategically brilliant. Almost like… someone inside told them where to strike."

"You're making wild claims!"

"We're making necessary ones," Luna snapped. "You're just too scared to admit the old ways are failing."

The Council looked ready to explode.

But then came the whisper. The door creaked open.

A small girl entered, no more than ten winters old, her hair matted, her face pale with fear.

"There's a man," she whispered. "He comes at night. With silver eyes. He smells like the forest and… and blood."

Everyone froze.

"Where did you see him?" Luna asked gently.

"In the trees. Near the Moonstone pool."

"That's sacred land," Yoongi said, voice sharp.

"And forbidden," Luna finished.

The girl trembled.

"He said he'd come back tonight."

By nightfall, they were waiting.

Yoongi stood just inside the tree line, Luna at his side, Jimin in the shadows.

"You sure this isn't a trap?" Jimin asked.

"Positive," Luna said. "He's not after us. He's after what we protect."

The Moon rose.

And from the dark came movement.

A cloaked figure stepped into the clearing. Silver eyes gleaming. Scar across one cheek.

"Well, well," he purred. "The Goddess's pet. And the cursed Alpha."

Yoongi stepped forward. "You crossed sacred ground."

"Sacred ground's just dirt and bones. I want what the Moon left behind. I want her."

He pointed at Luna.

Yoongi growled. "You'll die before you touch her."

The figure laughed. "I already died. The day she cursed me."

And that's when Luna saw it—the mark across his chest glowing faintly. Moon-burned. He was one of the betrayer's bloodline. Not just a descendant.

He was the betrayer reborn.

"You don't belong here," she said.

"Neither do you. You're a mistake. An echo. You should've been snuffed out before the Moon blessed you."

Yoongi lunged.

But the man vanished like smoke.

"COWARD!" Yoongi roared.

Luna clutched her chest.

The pain—searing, white-hot—shot through her.

"Yoongi," she gasped. "He… he did something. He marked the land. Moonfire. It's corrupted."

Jimin rushed over. "Luna, what's happening?"

"He's going to burn the forest from the inside. He doesn't want power. He wants revenge."

Yoongi grabbed her arms. "What do we do?"

"We fight. Not just him. The Council. The past. Everything."

The Council refused to act.

So Luna did.

With Yoongi and Jimin at her side, she led a new Circle—young wolves, healers, warriors tired of obeying a broken order.

She taught them the old rites. The Moon chants. The sacred burns.

They called her Priestess. Moonchild. Alpha's Flame.

Yoongi just called her "mine."

And each time Jimin flirted—because he still did—Yoongi's growl got louder, longer, more murderous.

"You're going to break his fangs grinding them," Luna teased once.

"He keeps touching your arm like that, I'll break his."

"Kinky."

"Not what I meant."

"Sure it wasn't."

They kissed under the blood moon that night.

And it felt like war and peace collided.

Then came the attack.

The betrayer returned, this time with an army of corrupted rogues—wolves twisted by fire magic and shadow.

They tore through the forest.

Yoongi met him at the Moonstone pool.

"Your death will feed the land," the betrayer sneered.

"Try me," Yoongi said—and shifted.

Fangs, claws, rage.

Luna fought beside him, her hands glowing with Moonlight, voice raised in chant, the air pulsing with sacred fury.

And Jimin—oh Moon bless him—was dual-wielding blades while cursing in three languages.

"Touch my brother's mate again and I'll shave your soul off with a spoon!"

The tide turned when Luna stepped into the corrupted Moonfire… and it didn't burn her.

It obeyed.

She raised her hands—and the flames parted.

She reached the betrayer.

"You tried to kill the Goddess once," she said.

"She deserved it," he spat.

"Then burn with your hatred."

Her chant rose.

Moonlight surged.

And he screamed as he was erased from the world—not killed, but unmade.

After the war, they rebuilt.

The Council begged her to lead.

She refused.

"Yoongi is Alpha," she said. "And I am not your tool."

"Then what are you?" one asked.

She looked to the sky. "The Moon's storm."

Yoongi smiled, stepping beside her. "And mine."

And Jimin?

He stood in the crowd, arms crossed.

"I could've made pancakes," he muttered.

Luna laughed.
