Chapter 10 - When the Silence Breaks (Continued)

Hospital – Miguel's Room, Two Days Later

The steady rhythm of machines filled the air.

Miguel's condition was improving—slow, but steady. His speech was clearer now, though his body still ached. He sat propped up in bed, staring at the ceiling, the hospital band tight on his wrist.

Andrea sat at the edge of the bed, arms crossed, her Cobra Kai hoodie still stained with dust and dried blood from the school fight. She hadn't said a word since she walked in.

Finally, Miguel broke the silence. "How bad was it?"

Andrea looked up. "Bad."

He nodded. "I felt it. The second I hit the ground."

A pause.

He turned to her. "You didn't leave me."

"I wouldn't."

He managed a weak smile. "Good. 'Cause if you did, I'd haunt your ass."

She cracked a smile too. "I'd probably deserve it."

Then silence again.

But not uncomfortable.

Just heavy with things they weren't ready to say yet.

School Courtyard – After Classes

Tory spotted Kate alone at her locker.

A perfect opportunity.

She didn't rush — just walked up with the casual threat of a wild animal sizing up prey.

Kate turned, saw her, and instantly squared her shoulders.

"Didn't get enough last time?" Kate asked, chin raised.

Tory laughed, low and vicious. "I was holding back."

"Oh yeah? Looked to me like you were struggling."

Tory took a step closer. "Careful, princess. This isn't Miyagi-Do. There's no sensei to protect you here."

Kate didn't back down. "At least mine doesn't train criminals."

"You're right," Tory said. "He trains cowards."

Then she shoved Kate's shoulder hard into the locker.

Kate stumbled, grabbed her arm, and swung.

It didn't land.

Tory caught it mid-air, twisted her wrist, and slammed her into the metal.

"Go ahead," Tory hissed. "Give me a reason."

Kate's breath caught. "You think this makes you powerful?"

Tory leaned in. "No. But it makes me dangerous."

Then she let go and walked away without looking back.

Miyagi-Do Backyard

Robby sat on the porch steps alone, arms resting on his knees, staring at the quiet trees that used to calm him.

But it was different now.

The silence felt hollow. The peace—foreign.

Demetri approached slowly, holding two sodas. "Mind if I sit?"

Robby shrugged.

Demetri plopped down beside him. "You know... I thought this place would help you. I really did."

"It did," Robby said. "But not anymore."

"You're not the same."

Robby glanced at him. "No one is."

Demetri hesitated, then added, "Andrea visited you."

Robby looked away. "I know."

"She still hates you, though."

"I'd be worried if she didn't."

Demetri exhaled. "She's changing too."

Robby clenched his fists. "Good."

Demetri blinked. "Good?"

"If everyone turns cold," Robby muttered, "then at least I won't feel alone anymore."

Cobra Kai Dojo – Training Room

The air was thick with sweat and adrenaline.

Johnny walked between the rows of fighters—Andrea, Hawk, Kenny, Tory, Mitch, Bert, and Kyler.

"I don't want balance. I don't want peace," Johnny growled. "I want results."

He pointed at the floor.

"Down. Push-ups. Now."

They dropped instantly.

Andrea's arms were shaking, but she didn't slow down. Hawk grunted beside her, blood still crusted on his knuckles from earlier sparring.

Kenny's voice was hoarse. "Sensei... how many?"

Johnny paused. "Until your arms break. Or you stop being weak."

Cobra Kai Locker Room – That Evening

Hawk sat on the bench, wiping his face with a towel.

Andrea entered quietly, closing the door behind her.

He looked up. "That fight messed you up, huh?"

She sat beside him. "He almost died, Eli."

"Don't call me that."

Andrea gave him a look. "You still are him. Somewhere under all the rage."

He stayed silent.

She added, "Do you ever wonder if we're turning into the people we hated?"

Hawk leaned back, staring at the ceiling. "Yeah. All the time."

"Then why don't we stop?"

He glanced at her. "Because if we stop, they win."

Andrea nodded, eyes narrowing. "Then we don't stop."

LaRusso Home – Nighttime

Amanda stirred a pot in the kitchen. Samantha sat at the table, scrolling through her phone with furrowed brows.

Anthony wandered in, holding a bag of chips.

"What's this 'dojo war' thing trending?" he asked.

Sam didn't look up. "It's about us. Again."

Amanda sighed. "I swear, your school should come with riot insurance."

Daniel walked in with a folder in hand. "Principal wants to suspend half the student body."

Amanda stopped stirring. "What?"

"And launch a full investigation," he added.

Anthony sat. "Cool. So are we famous or just violent?"

Sam muttered, "Both."

Daniel looked tired — more than usual.

"We're losing control of this," Amanda said.

Daniel nodded slowly. "Then we find another way."

Later That Night – Andrea's Apartment

The night was quiet.

Andrea stood on her balcony, staring down at the streets of Atlanta.

She was wearing Miguel's old hoodie. Oversized. Warm. Familiar.

Her phone buzzed.

New Message: Unknown Number

Still think you're safe?

Try not to fall next time.

— K

Her blood turned to ice.

Then—

Another Message: Robby

You okay?

She stared at the screen for a long moment.

And finally replied:

I don't know anymore.
