I relaxed my mind and searched Khimar's mind for answers. I tried to push my fear aside. I worried that zoning out into Khimar's mind would give my opponent the opportunity to break down my protective dome, but at the same time, I had no time for fear. I needed to find a spell to set myself free and get out of there.
Just as I thought I found a spell in Khimar's mind, I felt a forceful blast ripping me out of my protective dome.
I looked around, but my attacker was nowhere in sight.
Smart. They must have been using an invisibility spell.
Why didn't I think of it? Well, too late now.
Something strange was happening. I felt pulling, like I was being dragged out of my own body. Pressure gathered around my mind, and it felt as though my consciousness was folding in on itself, layer by layer, sealing me behind a wall.
"I am in your debt," I heard Khimar say before speeding off, his voice echoing inside my head rather than my ears.
