Chapter 4 - 4. Visitors

The guard gave a curt not and turned to pick up his helmet, almost falling down in the process. Then started waddling his way down the hill.

"How would he even go to battle like that, some people just shouldn't be stuck in heavy armor" Remiel just imagined this guard as a knight on a horse charging into battle, helmet bouncing in every direction truly the thing to inspire fear as a cavalry. He gave another chuckle then watched as the scrawny man relayed what he said to what he could only guess were his superiors, because one of them went towards a carriage up front and before he knew it he could see the silhouettes of a dozen or so people making their way towards him.

"Greetings, and welcome to the Nexus Guild" Remiel said as they approached, noticing their awestruck eyes as they examined the building behind him.

"Greetings, I'm Trevor Bellum, of the Bellum Trading group we appreciate your hospitality but I must say, are those walls made of crystal? I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd see such a thing, especially such pure crystal. The walls alone are worth more then some small cities."

"Eh? Oh no that's glass, not crystal, it's far cheaper to make, but reinforced with magic so it's durable, but come inside where it's light and you can take a look around, I promise a warm meal and some entertainment Afterall" As they made their way up the hill and approached the Building and the light shined through the glass Remiel could finally fully make out what they were all wearing and realized just how out of place his clothing was.

Their was a handsome young man leaning the group that he could only assume was Trevor, which was confirmed by his next words "Oh my I have never seen anything like this, this place is a marvel, I hope we won't dirty your floors I will send someone to help clean it if we do."

"Mommy, mommy, look the pictures moving" a little girl pointed at the TV, in awe. "Is that magic mommy?"

Remiel smiled and whisper to himself "Cross start the movie" it wasn't long before the video of the whale flying in the sky disappeared and the opening credits started. Remiel thought it was kind of funny to see movie credits for companies that didn't even exist in this world, but he could tell the travelers thought they were noble houses from a foreign land or something.

"So, this will play some entertainment, all are free to watch it, but I'll show you to the kitchen, if you have any questions about the guild itself I'd be happy to answer them, can't help you much on the town, bit new myself, but gates should open around sunup I'd assume."

Trevor pried his eyes away from the TV entranced by the moving magic and asked "Is this a place for entertainment, I've never seen a theater such as this".

"No, in fact it's actually a place ideally to do quests, help people grow stronger, fill their pockets, that sort of thing, people can ask for the guild to help them with services or offer their services to the guild."

Trevor looked baffled, but followed Remiel as he made his way to the cafeteria, please take a seat. I'll get you some hot food, and we can talk more about it, I'll be doing most of the work as I'm short staffed at the moment.

[Second Mission Acquired: Are you a Guild Master or a worker, hire a receptionist, a cook, and a maid.]

[Reward: 500 Points, 1000 Experience]

[Note: System will pay their salary for 1 month, after that make sure you are generating enough points to pay them]

Remiel paused staring at the screen, by the look on Trevor's face he could tell he was the only one that could see it. "Unless you know of some staff, I see you have a group of travelers, any looking for work? I couldn't tell if you were one large merchant group or a full caravan in the dark."

Trevor leaned in, in fact their are quite a few that just left the capital to look for a new life, I'm not certain of their plans but I can introduce you, let me go get them, it's the least I could do for your hospitality."

Trevor hurried into the other room, and returned followed by a handful of people, one holding the hand of a little girl that was fighting her hardest to get back to the movie. "Sir, these are the people you asked about, their are some more still at the caravan, I shall notify them later"

"Greetings, I'm the guild master here, you're in the Nexus guild currently I'm looking for a cook, a receptionist, and a maid." The men all frowned, they sounded like jobs for women, Remiel noticing that added, "I'm also looking for new adventurers to join the Guild, and can take anyone willing to sign up for that job, sadly it won't be a staff job, and you'll have to do quests to make money, staff however will be paid and be given a room to stay in if the so choose" which added an appreciative nod, everyone here was used to working for their wages, they didn't know what a quest was, but if it paid right they'd sign up.

Remiel took a deep breath and turned to the women with a child. "Ma'am if you're okay with it, I'll start with you so that your child can get back to the movie" He ushered her to a side area, and asked "First off may I know your name, and any work experience you have"

She looked at her daughter, then looked at Remiel. "My names Marie and I used to work with my husband..." she took a deep breath. "ex-husband, he was a tailor, but died of plague, I couldn't make ends meet, so I left the capital and now I'm here."
