2,560,000 / 2,560,000
1. Kill 10 Spirit Warrior monsters of any level. (0 / 10)
2. Reach the next level of your physique (Void Qi: 12 / 5,000)
3. Reach Mastery Level 2 in at least 3 techniques. (0 / 3)
Xuan took a deep breath and leaned back. His body was slightly sore as he had done nothing but cultivate for the last week. So did Yuelan, as she currently grabbed a snack from the fridge and sat beside him.
"So? Did you get those requirements too?" she asked.
He nodded. "Yep. They're not too difficult, just a bit time-consuming. You?"
Yuelan scoffed in annoyance. "I have to kill 100 Spirit Warrior monsters of any level, and reach Mastery Level 2 in 5 techniques. Like, how am I even supposed to find a Spirit Warrior monster? I went out while you were cultivating, and the highest I found was Sixth Level Spirit Apprentice, and that monster was way too weak."
Her eyes suddenly lit up. "Oh right... before I forget, here."
She placed a hand over his head, sending him some skills.

Xuan smiled in appreciation and did the same.
"Hmm... You didn't get more skills?" Yuelan muttered, puzzled. "I got Enhanced Senses when I reached Eighth Level Spirit Apprentice, and I got Basic Swordsmanship upon reaching Ninth Level Spirit Apprentice."
"I guess we have different paths? Maybe?" Xuan mused.
But then he had an interesting thought. "Hey, do you have a legacy? Maybe a bloodline or a physique?"
She checked her status, then nodded. "I have the legacy called Scripture of the Moonpiercing Saintess. It increases my understanding of swordsmanship by a lot, and I can cultivate faster while I'm under the moon. Apparently, I will get new skills once my swordsmanship reaches Mastery Level 5."
"Huh... I have a Boundless Void Physique. It's pretty vague, but it apparently increases my spatial awareness and lets me get Void Qi," Xuan said.
"That makes sense..." Yuelan mumbled. "No wonder I couldn't use that Basic Void Fist technique you gave me... but hey, we're strong enough now, right? We can go out and kill some monsters, right~?"
"Right..." Xuan sighed and walked over to the door, then turned his head to her. "You coming?"
A smile beamed on her face as she skipped over to him. With that, the two went downstairs and entered the street.
It was surprisingly quiet, but in the faraway distance, they could see smoke rising in the sky.
Yuelan tugged at his sleeve. "Should we...?"
"Yes, let's go. There might be monsters there," Xuan replied and dashed forward.
His speed by now was pretty impressive. He was sure he was as fast as a car, and so was Yuelan.
She kept up with him, and after just a few minutes, they arrived at the source of the smoke.
It was a police station, surrounded by a barbed fence. Yet for some reason, the station was set on fire.
Even stranger was the fact that there wasn't a single monster in sight.
Xuan approached the barbed fence and pried it open before stepping inside. Immediately, he spotted a few people lying around on the floor, injured.
Yuelan was the first to run over and check the extent of their injuries. As for Xuan, he searched for the one responsible.
Of course... a monster couldn't do something so precise. And it would've definitely finished these people off. But since they're still alive, the one I should be looking for is a human, Xuan deduced with a frown.
"H-Hey! Help me!" a woman yelled, waving at Xuan. "Can't you see I'm injured? There's a medic kit inside the police station, so can you go and get it?"
Xuan raised a brow. "If you're so eagerly cheering me on to run into the fire, then stand up and do it yourself, bitch."
"W-What... how dare you! Do you know whose daughter I am? My father will kill you!"
"What a noisy old coot..." Yuelan remarked, walking up to him. "Big brother, the others are not severely injured. But if we don't move them now, then the fire is going to reach them."
Xuan nodded at her and began grabbing the injured people, then carrying them outside the police station.
There weren't many, only 14 at most. However, when it came down to the woman who was being especially annoying, Xuan simply stared at her, not moving.
"What? You're going to let me die because of a simple insult? I was only joking." The woman scoffed, pointing at her foot, which was pierced by a tiny knife. "Can you also take this out? It hurts a bit."
Xuan ignored her shenanigans and got straight to the point. "Who attacked you?"
"It was stupid Yuan. He thought we stole a skill from him, so he crippled our legs and set the police station on fire," the woman replied in a helpless tone. "I tried to stop him, but alas... my efforts were in vain. He injured me too and ran away to the safe zone."
Yuelan's ears perked up as she crouched down beside the woman.
"Hey, what do you mean steal a skill from him? Also... a safe zone? What's that about?" she asked.
"Ugh..." The woman seemed annoyed. "You people have so many questions. Can't you see I'm hurt?"
Upon not getting an answer from either of them, the woman sighed and proceeded to explain.
