Two figures once again arrived in the 9th century BCE.
The location was a nation by the Mediterranean—the Kingdom of Judah.
"So this is the holy land of that massive religion..."
Standing on the main avenue of this country's capital, Göll looked around with childlike curiosity.
This city, and the history of this era, would have a considerable impact on future generations.
Hmm, considering the time period, constructing such a city was already quite remarkable.
"Huh? Sister Brunhilde, wait—"
Snapping out of her thoughts, she realized Sister Brunhilde had walked off without her.
Meanwhile, Brunhilde walking down the avenue observed everything before her.
The street bustled with activity, filled with merchant caravans coming and going.
Judging by their demeanor, these merchants seemed very satisfied doing business here, eager to expand their trade.
The local residents also appeared quite content with their current lives.
In short, the city was thriving, with people enthusiastically engaged in all sorts of activities.
In the blink of an eye, they found themselves inside the palace.
Since the previous Gilgamesh could sense their presence, and given the current suspicious circumstances that might be a trap, the two maintained a safe distance this time instead of approaching.
Thinking carefully, the Four Great Demon Kings' attempt to trick her into summoning a fake King Solomon seemed far too deliberate and suspicious.
Even without knowing about Gilgamesh's situation, Brunhilde would naturally want to personally observe this anomaly in the Akashic Records' historical footage—wouldn't that expose their scheme?
The Four Great Demon Kings couldn't possibly think she'd be that foolish, right? They must have anticipated she'd do this.
Her entering this historical simulation was likely part of their calculations.
Which meant something unfortunate might happen to her inside this historical recording.
Suddenly, Brunhilde's expression changed as she remembered something.
She recalled an incident from the past.
Two gods had been at odds.
One god took advantage when the other entered the Akashic Records' history and tampered with the system, trapping the other god in an endless loop within the recorded timeline until someone else accessed the Akashic system and discovered the imprisoned god, releasing them.
Though only a few days passed in the divine realm, the trapped god experienced infinitely stretched time, nearly driving them to madness.
Could she be similarly trapped in this history?
Immediately summoning the logout system—hmm? It seemed functional, not locked.
"Huh? What's wrong, Sister Brunhilde?"
Göll looked puzzled—why had they abruptly exited back to the Akashic Chamber?
"It's nothing."
Brynhildr shook her head slightly and closed her eyes.
After a brief silence, she reopened them and returned to the historical projection with Göll.
So had she been overthinking it? Was there nothing to worry about?
Impossible. She had already secretly contacted her other Valkyrie sisters. By the time she and Göll re-entered, one of them had already arrived at the Akashic Records and concealed herself, keeping watch over the situation.
"Is that King Solomon? He seems like such a gentle person," Göll couldn't help but gush a little, because King Solomon was truly handsome.
With a head of fluffy silver-gray hair and a face charming enough to captivate thousands, he wore an amiable expression.
In truth, King Gilgamesh's appearance was no less striking than Solomon's, but the difference in their temperaments made Göll instinctively wary. The way he slaughtered gods without a second thought was simply terrifying.
Brunhilde observed for an entire day but found nothing unusual. His activities as a human monarch were perfectly normal—attending councils, handling state affairs, negotiating collaborations with foreign envoys.
In short, he was an exceptionally competent, no, an outstanding ruler, working tirelessly to strengthen his nation.
Fast-forwarding a week revealed much the same.
A month later, he wasn't in the palace—where was he? Outside, enjoying leisure time.
Another month later, he was seeing off soldiers departing for war, as conflicts arose with a neighboring nation.
A month and a half after that, that country was annexed.
Jumping ahead a full year.
Nighttime—when most people were sound asleep. Yet within a grand hall of the palace, one figure remained awake: King Solomon.
At this hour, his behavior was somewhat peculiar.
Hmm? He was drawing on the floor?
A circle? A pentagram? The sun? The moon? Stars? Strange symbols.
Brunhilde's expression gradually darkened.
What King Solomon was sketching should not have been something drawn by human hands.
"Brunhilde, sister... that's a magic circle, isn't it?" Göll asked uncertainly.
If it had just been random scribbles, she might have dismissed it. But Göll recognized too many familiar patterns.
Huh? Why wasn't her sister responding? Glancing up, Göll saw Brunhilde wearing an expression of utter shock.
"Is this... a coincidence?" Brunhilde's lips trembled as she murmured disjointedly.
"Sister, what kind of magic circle is that? Do you recognize it?"
It seemed she did—and not just any magic circle, but one so extraordinary it had left her stunned.
"No, I don't... or rather, it resembles a magic circle I know of."
As she spoke, Brunhilde regained some composure.
It was merely similar. The magic circle she knew consisted of overlapping hexagrams, whereas this one used pentagrams.
In the one she recognized, the sun on the hexagram's edge was twice as large as the moon on the opposite side—here, it was the reverse.
Some of the runes matched, but their arrangement around the circle didn't align.
In short, it was as if the symbols, geometric shapes, and runes from the magic circle she knew had been entirely rearranged.
So, what was the purpose of that magic circle in her understanding?
It was a divine magic circle used to awaken the divine circuit, designed to elevate these half-human, half-divine beings into full-fledged gods.
Of course, even if the demigods knew how to activate this magic circle, they couldn't attempt it recklessly—failure would mean certain death.
Only those demigods who passed the trials and possessed bodies strong enough to withstand the effects of the magic circle could ascend and be recognized by the gods as true deities.
Becoming a god would grant them access to the very fabric of the universe in the truest sense.
Now, could Solomon's similar magic circle actually be activated?
If so, what would its effects be?
Brunhilde had an utterly absurd speculation!
