Years Ago - The Paragon Trials
Commentator 01: "Welcome Folks! To the final game of this year's Paragon Trails! It is a lovely atmosphere as the arena is now sold out with over 200 000 people present today to witness today's winners! What do you think of today's finalists?"
Commentator 02: "The defending champions are here again with a chance to keep their titles. Not only do we have the youngest participant in the history of the trials, we also now have the youngest participant in history to reach the finals, and now he has a shot to become the youngest participant in history to win the Paragon Trials. Everyone thought it would be crazy to add a 10 year child in the team but boy! I am impressed with his performance"
Commentator 01: "You are right! This looks like the birth of a new generation of cursed warriors and the opposing team? What do you think of them?"
Commentator 02: "The opposing team have proven to us that they are definitely here to stay, cannot wait to see what happens today!"
Commentator 01: "I am definitely happy with how they have performed as well, to think both teams are from the same district, I guess now it's just about bragging rights of who is the better team."
Commentator 02: "Yes, and with that being said we already have the results of world district rankings and until the next Paragon Trails these are your rankings starting from the worst district to the best district.
… At the very bottom due to no teams participating, as usual, District 10!"
~Audience loudly Boos
Commentator 01: "The people here did not like that, but then again, the district never participates, so it is no surprise they are last place again, we all saw this coming, the worst of the worst."
Commentator 02: "You can say that again, surprised that there are still people living there."
Commentator 01: "If there are, then they are definitely at the brink of death for being the last place of decades now."
Commentator 02: "Now let's continue with the rankings in order of districts from worst to best…
District 04, District 08, District 01, District 03, District 06, District 02…
And now the top three! District 09, District 05 and to nobody's surprise at number one District 07! "
Commentator 01: "You have heard it folks! The rankings will take effect tomorrow after the closing ceremony of the Paragon Trials."
Commentator 02: "Looks like the wait for today's game is over. The announcer is now approaching the arena to announce the final game for our finalists."
The announcer walks towards the stage onto the huge big arena, the audience goes quiet to the point at which you could hear a coin drop from the other side of it, as the suspense mounts for what the final game could be. The announcer pulls out the microphone.
Announcer: "Good day everyone! I hope you are all excited for the final game. The category of today's game will be… RAT!"
The crowd and audience at home cheer, scream and jump with joy!
Commentator 01: "Oh My Gosh! Let's Go! We have a mob game for the finals."
Commentator 02: "A game that will test the strength, defense and speed of both teams, I cannot wait to hear the rules of the game!"
Announcer: "Alright! Now for the rules of the game! Violence level 5, Heart level 5, Prison Level 3"
The crowd and audience at home cheer, scream and jump with joy again!
Commentator 01: "Wow, so killing members of the opposing team is allowed, what's the game and its clear conditions?"
Announcer: "Game Name: Undead Army, thousands of the undead will flood this arena, each a target, many varying in size, primed for extermination by our finalists, points are awarded for every kill, there is a point multiplier for the rarity or size of the undead eliminated, winning conditions are met when a team reaches 1000 points first, the team with the most points by the end, when the time limit of 30 minutes is reached or if the secret win condition is met."
Commentator 01: "And there you have it folks! Today's game has been announced. I cannot wait to see how it turns out."
Commentator 02: "Phew! Sounds tough, I also cannot wait to see how this turns out."
Announcer: "And now for your teams, you're defending champions accompanied by the young prodigy, representing the top district. Team Lionheart!!"
~The Crowd Cheers!
The first team walks onto the stage, saluting the crowd with so much elegance, the 10 year old child not only warming up and preparing himself for the final game but also ready to claim the title of the youngest participant in history to win the Paragon Trials.
Announcer: "Introducing the challengers, also representing the top district. Team Crimson Eyes"
~The Crowd Cheers Again!
The teams faced each other, a silent clash of determination in their gaze. It was not said but made very clear that even though they had secured the top spot for their district, they wanted to prove which team is better in front of all royal families and world leaders watching this match. Three referees positioned themselves between the teams, two guiding each to the opposite ends of the vast arena. The third began an incantation that completely changed the landscape of the arena, turning it into a large nightly forest prepping it for the game. The crowd and audience at home were amazed by the changes, some believed they were teleported to an undead infested area, others believed the undead were summoned here but either way, the point still remains, the match is about to commence. A large monitor becomes present on full display for the crowd in the arena, so the action is not missed.
Announcer: "PEOPLE OF THE WORLD! ARE YOU READY TO WITNESS SACRIFICE?!"
Both teams get into their formations preparing for the start of the match. The undead emerge and reveal themselves in large numbers, the sheer number of them brings about concern by some members of the audience questioning if surviving 30 minutes is even possible. However, both teams including the young prodigy showed zero fear but instead various forms of excitement.
Announcer: "Now Begin!"
The cheers of the crowd were deafening as both teams vanished into the forest at subsonic speeds. As the timer goes down, the scoreboards already begin to grow for both teams.
Commentator 02: "The Match has begun! And the tension is now building to see who this year's winners will be."
Commentator 01: "To all the viewers at home, we will be right back folks! Stay tuned as we cut to a commercial break."
