Chapter 22 - Chapter 21: The Weight of Silence

The battlefield was quiet.

No more gunfire. No more screaming. Only the faint crackle of fires and the distant cries of Pandora's beasts, restless at the scent of blood.

I stood over the wreckage of Quaritch's mech, my fist still trembling with the echo of the final blow. His body slumped within the ruined cockpit, lifeless.

For the first time since awakening on Pandora, I felt… not triumphant. But hollow.

The Na'vi gathered. Warriors from the reef clan and the forest clan alike circled at a cautious distance. Their eyes held no cheers, no celebration—only wide, unspoken questions.

One young warrior muttered in Na'vi, "He tore the demon's machine apart… with his hands."

Another whispered back, "Is he one of us… or something worse?"

I heard every word. Super-hearing is both a gift and a curse.

Jake Sully pushed through the crowd, his expression caught between gratitude and unease."You saved lives today," he said firmly. "That's what matters."

But even he couldn't quite meet my glowing eyes.

I looked down at my hands, still dusted with sparks and blood."Then why do they look at me like I'm the monster?"

Jake hesitated. He had no answer.

A soft touch on my arm broke the weight in my chest.

Tsireya.

Her eyes were steady, unflinching, even as the others stepped back from me."They fear what they do not understand," she said gently. "But I… I see you. I see the man, not just the storm."

Her voice anchored me, pulling me out of the spiral.

I gave her a small smile—one that felt fragile, almost human again."Then maybe that's enough."

Later, when the clans burned their dead and tended their wounded, I sat alone by the water. The bioluminescent waves shimmered, reflecting a face that didn't feel like mine.

Younger Henry Cavill's face staring back at me. A god among mortals. A weapon without limits.

But also… a man who just wanted to belong.

For the first time since meeting ROB, doubt crept in.Had he given me power… or a curse?

And in that silence, I made a vow.If I was a storm, then I would be their storm—not their enemy.

No matter what it took.
