YULIA'S POV
I watched from my bedroom window as the carriage pulled away, Yin sitting beside that wretched human girl like she belonged there.
"Why is he behaving like a fool?" I muttered, pressing my hand against the cold glass. "All of this nonsense because of that pesky human being."
My son had never acted this way before. Never let himself be vulnerable, never showed weakness. And now here he was, attending common fairs and making pinky promises like some lovesick boy.
It was disgusting and very much annoying.
"I have to do something," I said to the empty room. "I have to get my son back before that girl ruins everything I've worked for."
I pulled on my cloak, the heavy fabric settling around my shoulders like old armor. I'd been patient. Watched and waited, hoping Yin would come to his senses on his own.
