Chapter 5 - HIRO THE SPIDER PART 5

Hiro the Spider

Episode 5 — Raid of the Broken Academies

The courtyard hadn't even stopped shaking from Gen's collapse before the HUD screamed back to life.

[Next Wave Approaching.]

[Faction Raid Active: Three Academies Converging.]

[Objective: Survive, Dominate, Conquer.]

[Mission Victory Reward: +5 Levels.]

The sky ripped open. Three colossal rifts split across the horizon, vomiting armies of students in colors and banners alien to this world. Towers bent to make space, classrooms folded inward like origami, and the battlefield doubled in size with a single convulsion of reality.

Heroes. Villains. Anti-heroes. Thousands poured through, each group chanting their school's war-cry. The ground vibrated under boots, claws, and the thunder of powers sparking wild.

And at the center of it all, Hiro stood grinning over Gen's battered body, hoodie torn, blood dripping off his fists like paint. His number glowed above his head like a curse: Level 19.

Gasps rippled through the survivors.

"Level 19 already?"

"That's impossible—he was nothing a mission ago."

"He killed Gen."

The crimson-armored heroine stared across the ruin, her jaw tight. She didn't say it out loud, but her eyes spelled it clear: monster.

Hiro licked blood from his lip and smirked at the rifts. "Field trip. Guess I'm class president now."

The Invasion

The first wave hit like a storm. A faction of armored heroes in blue surged in from the east, shields up, lances crackling with lightning. From the west came villains draped in bone and fire, their bodies warped with mutations. From the north, anti-heroes dressed in black and silver poured in, their eyes hollow and grins feral.

The courtyard became a slaughterhouse. Beams cut across firestorms, screams pierced explosions, and blood slicked the tile until boots slipped in it.

Hiro stretched his arms like he was waking from a nap. "Alright, who's dying first?"

A squad of blue-armored heroes charged him, shields glowing.

"You're Hiro the Spider!" their captain shouted. "System says you're too dangerous. By order of the academy council, you're marked for execution!"

Hiro tilted his head, grinning. "Execution? That's cute. Come here, executioners—let's see if you die prettier than you talk."

They roared and rushed.

Spider's Dance

Hiro blurred. His reflexes lit the world in white fire. To him, the shield wall moved like it was underwater.

He sprinted up the first shield, boots hammering the captain's face, flipping over as spears stabbed air. He grabbed one lance mid-thrust, wrenched it sideways, and drove the glowing tip through its owner's chest.

[Kill Registered. +1 Level. Current Level: 20.]

The surge rocked him. His body thrummed tighter, faster. He laughed. "Fuck yes."

He spun the lance like a staff, cracking helmets open, bones shattering with each swing. A hero tried a desperate lightning bolt; Hiro jammed the lance straight into the bolt and redirected it, frying three others in blue armor.

[+3 Levels. Current Level: 23.]

Smoke curled off his hoodie. His grin split wider.

"Who's next? C'mon, don't be shy."

The Villain Swarm

From the west, the bone-and-fire villains saw the slaughter and howled with delight. Twenty rushed Hiro at once, blades dripping flame, jaws unhinged.

"Spider's mine!" one screamed.

"Fuck off," Hiro spat, "I don't do leashes."

He vaulted into them, fists and boots a blur. A kick shattered ribs. An elbow collapsed a skull. He ducked a flaming sword, countered with a brutal punch that tore a jaw off. His reflexes burned, the world dragging again—every strike placed with surgical cruelty.

The heroine cut through enemies at his flank, slicing with precise arcs. She stole glances at Hiro—bloody, laughing, relentless—and grit her teeth.

"Reckless idiot," she muttered.

"Still staring, sweetheart," Hiro shot back between kills.

Rival Anti-Heroes

The third faction, black-and-silver anti-heroes, finally entered the brawl. Unlike the others, they didn't scream or roar. They stalked forward silent, weapons dragging across the ground. Their leader pointed at Hiro.

"Spider. You're too loud. You make us look sloppy."

Hiro barked a laugh. "Sloppy? Buddy, I am sloppy. But I'm still prettier than your whole ugly squad."

They rushed. Hiro met them head-on. Blades scraped his skin, fists slammed into his ribs, but every strike he gave back was twice as savage. He grabbed one by the throat, slammed him through the tile until his skull painted a crater, and ripped a knife from another's hand to bury it in his spine.

[+2 Levels. Current Level: 25.]

The HUD flashed above his head. The number glowed like a beacon. Whispers spread fast.

"Level 25 already…"

"Impossible."

"He's not human."

Hiro smirked, wiping blood with the back of his hand. "Not human? Damn right. I'm worse."

Gen's Shadow

Gen stirred on the ground, barely conscious, armor cracked, bloodied face glaring through the haze. He croaked Hiro's name.

Hiro crouched beside him, ignoring the chaos for a second. "Still breathing? Respect. Stay down or I'll fix that."

Gen's eyes blazed with stubborn fire, but he couldn't move. Hiro stood, looking back at the endless waves pouring in.

"See, Gen? That's the difference between us. You fought to win. I fight 'cause I don't give a fuck. And that's why I'll never stop."

Escalation

The battlefield quaked. The rifts pulsed brighter, pouring even more combatants onto the campus. Hundreds became thousands. The courtyard collapsed into a crater under the weight of bodies.

The HUD updated:

[Elimination Count: 1,245 Combatants Remaining.]

[Mission Will Continue Until 50 Survivors Remain.]

The crowd gasped. "Fifty?! Out of thousands?!"

Hiro barked laughter. "Fifty, huh? Guess I better start cutting."

He launched back into the fray. He tore through blue-armored heroes like paper, cracked villains into ash, mocked anti-heroes with every kill. Each strike was faster, each reflex sharper, each grin wider. Blood painted him head to toe, but his eyes burned alive.

[Kill Registered. +1 Level.]

[Kill Registered. +1 Level.]

The numbers stacked, his level climbing like a storm surge.

The heroine, panting as she slashed enemies beside him, shouted, "You're insane! You'll burn out!"

Hiro laughed, ducking a blade, snapping a neck with his bare hands. "Burn out? Fuck no—I burn everything else."

Cliffhanger

The sky ripped again. This time, it wasn't just armies.

A colossal figure stepped through—a titan clad in golden armor, towering above the battlefield, a commander from one of the academies' elite classes. His aura crushed the air, pressing every combatant to their knees.

The HUD screamed:

[Elite Boss Combatant Detected: Level 50.]

Hiro stood tall, blood-soaked, chest heaving. He wiped his mouth, his grin sharp enough to cut steel.

"Level fifty?" he muttered. "Finally, a real fight."

The titan's eyes locked on him. Every survivor scattered.

And Hiro, reckless, disrespectful, and grinning like death's drunk brother, took one step forward.

"Let's dance, asshole."
