Brennan Ford perked up upon hearing this.
Taking advantage of Larry Lewis' words, he wanted to regain some face after the earlier setback.
He immediately said, "Once a teacher, forever a father. It shouldn't be too much for Mayor Carter to call you teacher, right?"
As soon as these words were spoken,
some people chimed in enthusiastically.
Keaton Ross didn't stop it,
grinning as she watched Dirk Carter.
Clearly,
today's situation might have been orchestrated by her.
Dirk Carter just laughed.
He released Larry Lewis' hand,
and said, "In private, it wouldn't be too much for me to call you teacher, but given today's setting, our organization strictly prohibits factionalism. If I call you teacher, others might mistakenly think that Secretary Lawson and I, Dirk Carter, are part of the same faction, which wouldn't be good for Secretary Lawson's reputation, right, Secretary Lawson?"
This rhetorical question
made Larry Lewis' face turn sour immediately.
