"Pay him a visit?" I raised a brow, my stomach tightening into a hard knot. I'm not quite sure that I am ready to see Evander now, not after everything he's done. The memories of that night, of his cold eyes as he gave the order, flashed behind my eyes. "What do we possibly need him for?"
"Darcy, get Esme strapped into her car seat," Nyx instructed, her voice calm but leaving no room for argument. She got to her feet, her gaze sharp as she scanned the room as if sensing threats I couldn't see. She turned back to me. "Catherine, I'll need you to trust me on this. Let's go to the pool."
With that, she started moving, her movements purposeful. I followed behind her, my mind racing. "What's happening, Nyx? What is this about?"
