Chapter 13 - Adventure 13: Tales Of Frost And Flame

Beyond the surface of Centria the settlement is divides into three zones. The Saviors Zone: The strongest families who came together to form the settlement watching over it from above. The Bones Zone: A Warriors grounds, a place filled with fighters looking to prove themselves and protect this place. And last an least in the eyes of the other two, the weakest zone, The Stones: filled with rejects and civilians who can't fend for their own. Living in eyes view of the others at all times and ridiculed for lacking the strength to survive on their own. They must support the strong no questions asked, unless they gain the strength to rise. The survivors must obey this system or they will surely die.

No matter who you know sometimes it's hard to survive. When you hit rock bottom, you'll do anything to survive.

"Come on! We have to hurry up and go! Their coming and we'll be screwed if they know!"

Jogging over to the entrance and dropping down the pathway hugging the stone to its side, he grabs on tightly as a three man squad of soldiers walk overhead looking for a sign.

"I don't see anyone over here, it looks like they ran out already."

Throwing a cube down into the hole while swiftly turning one of the soldiers watches as it lights up brightly and begins to spin, shining a blinding light that burns their skin. Causing one to let out a cry as the other falls to the ground sliding down the hole in the ground.

Damn it no point in staying if we've already been found. You may have seen us but were far from found. Good luck catching us on home ground.

Leaping down into the hole as the soldiers follow behind sending the cube through the holes shining light at them narrowly missing their skin. A soldier reaches out to grab one, getting a fist to the head knocking the soldier back into the cube as it shined a light his way. Screaming in excruciating pain as it rained down strike after strike, aiming at the young boy using the soldier as a shield to block his back. Holding down his hands as he screams out "IT'S ME AHHHHHHH DON'T ATTACK!"

Kicking the soldier away as he grabs onto a thick vine rooted in the ground and swings his body to the left as the roots come back around, slamming the soldiers into rocks as they struggle to keep up, falling to the ground. Turning his head forward to search for her, he sees her back marked with a single scar. It was fierce, it was a sharp cut, and it was a deep gash in her back.

An to make matters worst she was free falling now that she's passed out from that.

Sliding across the walls on his back, he leaped forward as she came in range grabbing her tightly as he kicked hard through a dirt path in the walls path aiming low to the ground. Dropping down through the hole, into the air as he fall down, looking at the water as he holds her tight. Watching their reflection get closer and closer as their falling down. Smiling for a brief moment as he looks her in the eyes as she slowly opens them to the sight of his pained eyes.

"Don't worry Maradi, I got you. Everything will be alright. Don't you tap out on me, we have a lot left to do today. Just hold on tight, we're almost home."

Seeing her eyes slowly close as her hands grip tightly into his arm, her nails digging into his skin. She passes out, desperately clinging to him as they fall together into the lake.

"Please Maradi … don't look into the light. Please don't leave me alone."

With a sharp bang a bigger hole forms over their heads and rains down stones from the sky. An with it comes the soldiers with backup screaming out the one who's been singed covering his right eye.

"That's him! That the little shit who did this to my eye! I'll fucking kill him! These rejects don't deserves their lives."

"You hear that kid you really pissed him off looks like we'll have to get even and start with your eyes. We'll finish off the girl too after we take her back for our prize. You've only got yourself to blame you should of just came quietly alone. Now you'll both die but she'll do it alone."

Slowing everything down to a finite point in his mind he sees the course of the rocks as they begin to fall down into the water as he takes a deep dive. Sinking down to the bottom of the lake as he coats Maradi in a thin bubble all around her skin. Swiftly running across the floor of the lake as he carries her away.

Thinking of ways to escape with their lives. Thinking of who would come to their aid. With all these thoughts running wild with no place to go, he has a breakthrough giving them all an open stream to flow.

Nobodies coming to save us so I've made up my mind. I'll become her savior, she'll understanding after some time. But now I have to act, we don't have any more time. I'll kill them for you … for us that I really don't mind. They take lives all the time without a reason so they can't complain if I do it for mine.

Rubbing a hand on her sleeping face as he puts a hand over her scar and the other gently on her face. The water grows grows in size as it begins to hiss and roar climbing higher and higher into the sky. Putting fear across the soldiers face as they slowly drop down. Seeing flares come from their suits bands. Warning them of a that nearby.

"What?! But that's impossible!"

Slapping the back of his head the soldier with an eye burned away and deep scars on his hand grabs him by the chest yelling "Those vagrants don't go no damn power, their running in fear. But something with a ridiculous amount of animous is near. Grab them up and lets go we can't handle that kind of power without the captain around. Lets hurry up and get back to the upper zone and report what we found."

Wrapping around their necks water vapor solidifies and grows heavy forming into wires as their legs are pulled down with chains. Shocking the soldiers as they feel their bodies grow heavy and can't take a step back.

"What the hell is this?! Forget them it's too risky we have to go back now!"

Shooting up out of the water with a venomous look in his eyes that have long since grown cold. He steps on top of a platform of water, releasing bubbles into the sky

"So after all that you think you can turn tail and run away? You hurt her too much for me to look the other way." Tightening the wire and dragging them down with the chains, he looks them in the face but they see monster in his eyes. One who began laughing as they tremble and struggle to break off the chains. "Don't you dare run from it when you've had us trapped here hunting us for games. You don't to be scared your first time so embrace being the prisoner for a change."

Forming hands from the water vapor around their skulls and bubbles to come together forming a massive ten layered one around them all, he frowns snapping the chains as he addresses them all.

"You'll see what it's like to be hunted until the moment you fall. But we won't do it here you've already done enough to the survivors here. This time we'll destroy your world and watch everyone cower in fear." Leaping upward as the water propels him dragging them all upward in vacuum pulling the rocks along it's path into the stream, he grabs onto the man with the burns face and shoves his thumb into his eye.

"Until we reach the top, I'll make you watch each and everyone of the people you love slowly crumble until they die inside. An even then you won't get off easy you'll die for the rest of your life. You'll be worst than us vagrant and you'll live everyday remembering why."

Pouring out the surface water begins to slowly rush out as the pressure rises and builds erupting into a great stream, shooting directly into the clouds in the sky. Raining down rocks across Centria and a sharp rain slamming down hard. Ripping through the ground and building with ease as it just passes through. Only softly grazing the face of a child who's feet began to freeze the puddles forming on the ground.

Coughing as they struggle to breath but just can't seem to get any air. The boy begins to laugh like a mad man as he grabs onto his white hair letting the rain run down into his eyes and across his black skin, washing away the blood as he falls down looking to the sky.

"You kept your monsters hidden away only to bring them back on your own. You should of left us to our shitty life, you could have left us alone. But it's too late now, it's time for a change. Let this day forever remind you that even fools have a heart."

Walking across the rain as it form a bridge in the sky, knocking his hand three times on the water droplets that have frozen in the air so far as he drags his hand forward as the droplets follow racing across the sky.

"I hope my tears reach you so nobody else has to die."

Seeing a gold light flare from afar burning the shard away. He softly smile while his eyes give away his lie.

"You said you'd help us so I just don't get why. Why are you here and helping them get by. If you'll defend scum like this then it makes sense why you just left us die."

Slings himself backward with a hand made of water, he launches the soldiers he held hurling through the sky. Vanishing from sight as the rain grows to heavy to see a thing except for a massive light that flared across the sky.

Sometimes it hurts to met your hero's. When you finally see them in the light, they don't look the same. Then it all comes crashing down and you don't know who to blame. Such is the story of money, power, and fame.
