Just as Xu Fu finished speaking, a few men in sleek suits suddenly moved, their movements swift and lethal. Hidden weapons flashed from beneath their clothing.
Their attack was lightning-fast—but Xu Fu was faster. In just a few steps, he incapacitated them, twisting their bodies and rendering their weapons useless. They collapsed, helpless.
The original Yashida's face paled. These men were his subordinates, placed here with orders to kill Zhen Lizi. On the surface, it was meant to appear unrelated to him—so that no one could accuse him directly. But now, everything was laid bare.
"Your Excellency Xu, thank you. Otherwise, we would truly be in trouble," Yuan Qian Yashida said, drawing a deep breath.
Though appearing calm, he could feel the hidden forces aligned against him. He was also struck by Xu Fu's ability—this young man, barely a few years older than a boy, moved with a terrifying inhuman cleverness and martial prowess.
"Your Excellency Yashida, didn't you arrange these men to kill Zhen Lizi?" Xu Fu's voice was calm but sharp. He knew Yashida wanted to preserve the family's legacy at any cost.
Nearby, Zhen Lizi's expression darkened. She had long suspected her father's duplicity, and now Xu Fu confirmed her worst fears.
"Your Excellency Xu, as I said, why would I… Zhen Lizi is my daughter. Why would I harm her? We should only consider the possibility of other threats in this inner sanctum," Yashida replied, trying to stay composed.
"Oh?" Xu Fu's gaze didn't waver. "No precautions?"
"Of course," Yashida replied, "I merely prepare for the worst, to know how to protect the family properly."
Before Yashida's words finished, chaos erupted. Sunglass-wearing men stormed the hall, firearms raised, targeting everyone in the temple.
"Jane, this place is too grand. Do you want to leave with your father?" Yashida asked.
"No, Father. I want to stay with Xu Fu." Jane shook her head firmly, her trust in her father fading.
Sensing danger, Yashida didn't linger. "Be careful, Xu Fu," he warned, and left.
Zhen Lizi moved close to Xu Fu's side. "Your Excellency Xu, should we withdraw?"
Wolverine Rogon and Starlight also approached. The sacrificial hall was in chaos, with the Shadow Alliance restrained by the enemy's artillery fire.
"Don't worry," Xu Fu said. "Reinforcements are on the way."
"Reinforcements?" Rogon blinked.
Xu Fu's eyes scanned the horizon. Soon, countless young men in impressive uniforms appeared, each carrying advanced weaponry, ready to crush the attackers.
Instantly, the sunglasses-clad men were restrained, their ambush neutralized. Rogon's respect deepened. With Xu Fu on their side, there was little to fear.
Ordinary firearms were useless against Xu Fu now. His body, refined through countless battles and cosmic-level enhancements, was impervious. Every skill he possessed had been honed beyond imagination—assault, defense, energy control—there were no weaknesses left.
Watching the battle, Wolverine Rogon spotted Lady Anaconda, Ophelia, and prepared to pursue.
"Xu Fu, I'll chase someone," he said.
"Stay vigilant," Xu Fu replied calmly. Rogon didn't hesitate, sprinting after Ophelia. She smiled faintly, unfazed, and vanished into the shadows.
"Jane, Starlight, let's get out of here," Xu Fu instructed.
"Understood," they nodded.
Just then, more than a dozen warriors appeared on the battlefield. Both Xu Fu's allies and Yashida's forces were ready to strike, each combatant lethal. The inner sanctum had become a deadly chessboard, with Xu Fu as the calm, unshakable master.
The chaos raged on, but Xu Fu's presence ensured that order—his order—would prevail.
