Chapter 7 - Attacking Bessita

A few months later…

The carriage stopped once again, and of course, everyone was bored from the long hours on the road, so they got out as quickly as they could.

I grabbed my portion of food and sat down to eat, watching the young people moving around the camp. I smiled, knowing that today was the day Ourin would confront Leylin—but this time, he would be utterly defeated.

Leylin moved away first, separating from the group. He was clearly looking for some wild fruit to analyze with the chip, and it wasn't long before Ourin's group also left the camp, leaving some feeling a bit uneasy.

POV Leylin

He had already used all the herbs he had gathered earlier, so now he was preparing to replenish his supplies.

As he walked, he casually observed the nearby plants.

"This is a Jade Root Fruit. There are already records of it in the database. Useless to me!"

"Hm! Samun Grass… this is a type of plant that can only be found in the desert. It can be harvested!"

Leylin plucked a dirty brown stem. Sharp thorns ran along its sides. Carefully, he snapped the stem in half and touched the colorful liquid constantly flowing from it with his fingers. A look of disappointment crossed his face as he put his fingers in his mouth.

"I found it… the Flowerless Snake Fruit!"

Leylin dropped the Samun Grass to the ground. As he walked casually, he noticed out of the corner of his eye the same yellow fruit he had eaten yesterday, growing on a bush. His face lit up with joy.

"Hmm! Hmm! What do I see? Leylin! Should I say, 'typical behavior for a minor noble from a minor village'? You're really eating wild fruits by the roadside? You really tarnish the reputation of nobles…"

Just after Leylin plucked the Flowerless Snake Fruit and put it in his pocket, an irritating voice called out.

"Ourin?"

Leylin lifted his head and saw the assassin who had killed the previous owner of this body.

He stood with his arms crossed over his chest, smiling arrogantly at Leylin.

A few young nobles were beside him, having agreed to help him.

"AI Chip, scan his stats!"

[Scan complete! Ourin — Strength: 1.7, Agility: 1.2, Vitality: 1.5, Status: Healthy]

The AI Chip responded.

Looking at the data before his eyes, Ourin's strength wasn't bad. His power was nearly equivalent to that of two adult men. It wasn't surprising that he had been able to fatally injure the previous Leylin.

The nobles beside Ourin weren't as strong, most of them below 1. Leylin even saw a young man with a pale face whose stats hovered around 0.5, resembling the previous Leylin.

Calculating the stats mentally, Ourin's strength wasn't much different from his own. But his sword technique and movements could definitely not rival Leylin, especially with the help of the AI Chip. As for the rest of the young nobles, they were only there to inflate the numbers. The gap between their stats and his was huge. Dealing with them would be extremely easy, like an adult intimidating a child.

"Is there a problem?"

Leylin asked calmly.

"You…"

Leylin's reaction clearly exceeded Ourin's expectations. He showed neither rage nor fear, leaving Ourin completely speechless.

While all this was happening, I didn't waste any time and went to the camp that was set up by Ourin and his henchmen for Bessita.

The tent was compact, with good quality fabric that reflected the morning sunlight. The reinforced seams and the silver zipper gave it a delicate but secure look. Small mesh windows allowed for ventilation, while the interior, narrow but cozy, had ample space.

Time for the attack, of course, I had previously prepared for this moment, so I intimidated some young people from the other carriage and got a good rope.

I removed it from my waist, it was a light rope perfect for tying up a woman who would be raped, I crossed the tent curtain, and found her.

Bessita, with her beautiful red eyes that looked like two rubies, looked in my direction, startled. Clearly, I was the last person she expected to find. "Raven? What are you doing here? By any chance looking for Ourin?"

I smiled at her and as I closed the curtain behind me, I said. "Ourin? Who is that piece of shit? That failure? ahahaaha."

Bessita listening to my insults directed at Ourin while attentively watching every movement I made with the rope in my hand. "Attacking someone from behind is not an honorable act..."

Before Bessita could continue with her words, I advance on her and, in the blink of an eye, I appear behind Bessita and push her against the wood that was driven into the ground to hold the tent. And then I start tying her up.

Stop!! What are you doing!" Bessita struggles desperately, but it's useless. With a few movements, she is immobilized and tied up.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

"HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Bessita shouts, drawing the attention of everyone who can hear in the camp.

Of course, the mages and the men in black robes didn't even look in the direction of the scream, as it was coming from inside Bessita's personal tent.

I approached her and whispered in her ear. "I need to relieve myself and I chose you, but first I need to take care of some annoying flies."

I quickly left the tent, and looked at everyone who was approaching, clenched my fists, and raised my head. "Get out of here, worms, unless someone among you wants to challenge me!"

Quickly the young people moved away... And the only one who looked at me without fear, but with a relative challenge in his eyes, was George, but he was too far away. He didn't come closer to save Bessita, so I quickly went back inside the tent.
