Chapter 4 - 4

Since living with Diana, Russell had never slept alone unless he or Diana was not home.

Although the bed felt a bit small when they slept together, the sheets got wet easily, the blanket was occasionally snatched away, and he would hear complaints like "You're lying on my hair," Russell still preferred sleeping together.

For no other reason than it felt safer!

With a powerful and reliable demigoddess sleeping right beside him, it was hard *not* to feel safe.

More importantly, Russell had some not-so-good sleeping habits, such as liking to hug something while he slept.

Hearing the sound of the master bedroom door being locked from the inside, Russell sighed helplessly and gently patted the Venom head that had emerged from his chest.

After retracting the black, viscous Venom head back into his body, Russell picked up the pajamas Diana had thrown at him and walked towards the guest bathroom.

After washing up, wearing his pajamas, he walked alone into the clean guest bedroom that no one had ever slept in.

Lying in bed, whether it was because someone was missing beside him or because he wasn't used to the bed, he tossed and turned for over half an hour, unable to feel even a hint of sleepiness.

Finally, he sat up and once again began practicing and adapting to his new abilities.

He planned to stay up all night to solve this problem.

Having a beautiful cohabiting girlfriend with a stunning figure, only to end up sleeping alone in the guest bedroom.

Experiencing something like this for one night was enough.

The night passed in the blink of an eye.

The next day.

When the faint clinking of tableware came from the kitchen, Russell, who had worked late into the night before finally sleeping, slowly opened his eyes.

The kitchen.

Diana, wearing an oversized men's white shirt on top and adopting the "pantsless" style below, revealing a pair of long, beautiful legs, was preparing breakfast.

Gentle golden sunlight streamed in through the window, falling upon Diana like a veil, making her appear both sacred and possessing an indescribable gentle grace.

"Morning!"

After washing up, Russell, wearing his pajamas, came to the kitchen and, as was his habit, hugged Diana from behind.

Just as he was about to get handsy with Diana, who was making breakfast, as he usually did, a sharp elbow strike hit his right ribs, instantly waking him up from his slightly groggy state.

Hiss...

Russell gasped, instinctively stepped back several paces, and rubbed his right ribs where Diana had elbowed him.

Having lived together for over two years, Diana knew exactly the extent of his physical resilience.

Otherwise, Diana wouldn't be able to completely drain his stamina every single time.

Diana's elbow strike just now would have been fatal to an ordinary person.

But for Russell, it was right in the middle ground between being injured and not being injured.

Diana, who had received warrior training on Paradise Island since childhood, was incredibly skilled at controlling her strength.

"I can perfectly control the newly awakened ability now."

Russell said quickly.

Hearing his words, Diana paused her right hand, which was flipping bacon.

Then, her gentle and pleasant voice rang out.

"We'll talk after breakfast."

A few minutes later, the breakfast personally cooked by Diana was ready.

Fried eggs, toast, bacon, milk.

A very common American breakfast.

After arranging the breakfast on plates, Russell and Diana sat down facing each other.

Just as Russell was about to pick up his fork to enjoy the breakfast Diana had made, Diana looked at him seriously and slowly said, "Didn't you say you can perfectly control your new ability? Prove it."

"No problem!"

Russell raised his left hand, palm up, fingers spread apart.

The next second, black tendrils surged from the tips of his five fingers.

Under his control, these black tendrils flew towards the seasoning bottles on the table, such as the salt shaker and jam jar.

Two of the black tendrils even picked up the knife and fork on the table and began spreading jam on the toast and cutting the toast and fried egg into appropriate sizes, following his usual habits.

Under Diana's gaze, the knife and fork, precisely controlled by the black tendrils, brought the cut toast and fried egg to Russell's mouth.

"How about that? Pretty convenient, right?"

Russell said to Diana while using the black tendrils to feed himself.

"That ability of yours looks a bit disgusting."

What?

Russell had spent an entire night painstakingly mastering the "Venom Symbiote" ability to this extent, only to receive the evaluation that it was "a bit disgusting."

The focus should be on the precise control of the black tendrils, not making personal attacks on the symbiote's external form!

Besides, growing into this kind of slimy tendril appearance wasn't something the symbiote could decide.

If anyone was to blame, it could only be Knull, the Symbiote God who created the symbiote race.

Although he thought this in his heart, Russell had no intention of arguing with Diana about it and retracted the black tendrils that had surged from his left hand fingers.

"Let's put aside whether this ability is disgusting or not for a moment. How did you find me last night?"

Although Diana was a superhero, Russell had never seen her engage in any superhero activities since he met her.

Rhino had robbed banks more than once or twice; Spider-Woman and the Fantastic Four had both tried to capture him.

But whether Rhino was too lucky or Spider-Woman and the others were too unlucky, Rhino had never been apprehended, becoming New York's new generation "Number One Criminal Star."

Judging by Diana's previous behavior, let alone Rhino just robbing a bank yesterday.

Even if Rhino had robbed the New York headquarters of the Federal Reserve yesterday, it was unlikely she would have gone to apprehend him.

"An anonymous call contacted me and said you had kidnapped a reporter who was in danger of losing his life, and they told me your location."

Diana put down her knife and fork and said with a frown.

Anonymous call?

Knowing he had kidnapped Eddie Brock and also knowing his exact location.

It was obvious that the person who made the anonymous call had extremely accurate information.

After hearing this news, a suspect immediately popped into Russell's mind.

S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Although besides S.H.I.E.L.D., the anonymous call could have been made by someone from another organization.

But given the current circumstances, S.H.I.E.L.D. was the most suspicious target.

This world was somewhat different from the movie universe world he was familiar with.

Captain America, Steve Rogers, had been dug up by S.H.I.E.L.D. seven or eight years ago.

He didn't know what S.H.I.E.L.D. was thinking, but after Captain America was unfrozen, they didn't hide the news; instead, they pushed Cap into the spotlight.

S.H.I.E.L.D. also used this opportunity to emerge from being a clandestine government agency into the public eye.

Not long after Captain America's public appearance, seemingly "returned from the dead," the Fantastic Four emerged, and Spider-Woman also made her debut four years ago.
