Lucian exhaled softly, the voice was low and broken as it escaped its chest.
"Damn it…" He cursed as the urge to touch himself, to satisfy himself raced through his thoughts
His breath shuddered, the world dimmed with every urge, every desire, every low groan. He was on the verge of breaking.
But then, he felt a faint quiet sound stirred behind him near the wardrobe. His ear picked up on the sound.
His grab on the duvet tightening as he looked up to the direction of the voice, his eyes alert, his gaze sharp.
Emily had been in the dark for nearly twenty minutes.
Her back pressed up against the wooden panel of the wardrobe. Her knees ached. Her breath was caught halfway in her chest every time footsteps echoed faintly outside the room.
The moment she heard the guard's voice—and Lucian's uneven breathing—her heart stopped entirely. She clamped her hand over her mouth, afraid even a sigh would give her away.
