The stylist unzipped the garment bag.
Inside hung a fitted black shirt, crisp and tailored; a black leather jacket with silver detailing along the collar and cuffs; and slim black trousers unlike the flowing fabrics I'd worn on previous stages. Minimal silver accessories waited on the counter beside the mirror.
"Try the shirt first," the stylist said.
I changed behind the privacy screen, trading my rehearsal clothes for the black shirt. The fabric was soft but structured, following the lines of my shoulders without clinging.
When I emerged, the stylist held up the jacket.
"Arms forward."
I slipped into it. The leather was supple rather than stiff, and the silver detailing caught the light without overwhelming the silhouette. She adjusted the fit across my shoulders, then stepped back.
"Move through your blocking. Make sure nothing restricts you."
