"Can anyone who wears this helmet connect to the data dimension?" Nick took a deep breath, calmed his emotions, and asked Tony to get to the bottom of it.
He couldn't help but ask. Even with just a thought, he could already sense the transformation and shock this ability would bring. Whether it was for precaution or to gain an advantage, he needed to ask for clarity, then assess the future accordingly.
"What do you think?" Tony was a little impatient with Nick's wild ideas. "What do you think the data dimension is? A public leisure square that anyone can enter? You asked me to create a virtual game world for you, and I can give you some advice and provide technical support, but as for the data dimension, I'm sorry, I don't have the authority to do that. On that aspect, maybe you should ask Luke."
"Can Luke do it?" Nick didn't mind Tony's impatience. That was just his personality.
"I don't know. But the information I've discovered about the data dimension using my current permissions can only support me so far. I can improve the technology, add some modules, and then you can give it to ordinary people to try. But I don't think it will be of any use. It's not that my technology is useless, but that ordinary people simply don't have that, uh, you can think of it as an access module." Tony shrugged. "If you really want someone to become a mechanic, I don't think it's that complicated. You just need to infect them with the mechanical virus, and they will naturally obtain access permission to the data dimension. To put it more simply, mutants infected with the mechanical virus are equivalent to the data dimension giving them a network access license."
"Where can I get a mechanical virus now?" Nick's single eye widened. However, his words were met with a huge eye roll from Stark.
"I don't believe that SHIELD doesn't have a technical backup for the mechanical virus, just like I don't believe that you, the chief agent, have a conscience. Only you still care about that outdated technology. The Mutant Army? The Centipede Project? What's so great about that unstable technological product?" Tony exposed Nick's disguise without hesitation. In the few days when he had just awakened his abilities, he had used some of his previous tricks and backdoors to browse through SHIELD's database using his data intrusion capabilities.
"What other tests do you want to do?" Nick's expression didn't change at all despite Tony's rudeness. He was just wondering where Tony's firm tone and confidence came from.
Project Centipede. After receiving all of AIM's technical data, S.H.I.E.L.D. conducted advanced research based on the Mecha and Extremis viruses. Simply put, it was a S.H.I.E.L.D. version of virus technology developed based on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s needs after absorbing AIM's technology. It could be considered a continuation of AIM's research. This project was top secret within S.H.I.E.L.D.! It was a research project designed to rival the Hypermon series of equipment.
Stark even knew about the Centipede Project, so it was obviously not just speculation.
Did someone tell him something?
Or did Stark use his technology to hack into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intelligence system?
The former was a leak from within SHIELD. As for the latter, the ability to silently hack into SHIELD's intelligence systems was something Nick couldn't believe. It wasn't that he didn't believe Tony had the ability to hack into SHIELD's systems, but he didn't believe he could do it quietly and without alerting any of SHIELD's network defenses.
If Tony knew what Nick was thinking now, he would probably just grin and say sarcastically: Times have changed, and technology needs to be updated.
At least all Tony Stark had to do next was to stuff his Jarvis into the data dimension. Because he had mastered the ability to hack data, he was even more aware of its terrifying power! With the current technology on this planet, no giant's server could limit this ability!
If another person with the ability to invade data appears, and if he wants to look at the database of any giant and tinker with their intelligent system, the giants will be helpless against him.
Even Tony could only use his ability to fight against the other party after sensing the invasion, but he could not free his Jarvis from the constraints of the hardware so that he could guard against and resist the invasion of this ability.
Data security and privacy are on the verge of collapse after the emergence of this capability.
The only giant Stark hadn't successfully patronized was Luke's Hyperion. After establishing his Dark City, Luke had already freed himself from the constraints of hardware, simply dumping Hyperion's intelligent systems and databases into the data dimension. What remained in the real hardware database were licensed technologies that didn't involve Hyperion's true secrets.
Stark's intrusion could be considered a success, as he had indeed successfully accessed the Hyperion servers and browsed some of the data within. This was something he had previously failed to do. But it could also be considered a failure, as it was clear that Luke had already moved the actual intelligent systems and databases. He had essentially invaded a lonely place.
So Tony also planned to find a safe home for his data. Data Dimension was superior. Whether it was energy supply or network connectivity and transmission, the convenience and power it brought were unmatched by current hardware technology. The two sides were simply not on the same platform.
"No more tests." Tony shook his head, indicating that he had completed all the tests.
"Can this medicine replace the mechanical virus?" Nick suddenly asked.
"Of course. That's why I asked you to throw away your outdated and unstable technology." Tony showed a sarcastic smile on his face, which was dazzling and vicious.
"What about the cost? How much will it cost for mass production?" Nick didn't want to argue with Tony about technical issues, as that was the other party's area of expertise.
"As for the cost, one dose of medicine is about one hundred thousand US dollars. It mainly requires some special dimensional materials." Tony gave the answer smoothly.
"It's not cheap," Nick said, but then he didn't care. It wasn't his SHIELD that was footing the bill. That was something the current government needed to worry about paying for and resolving. He and SHIELD had simply contributed to it, and that was enough to justify it. His concern now was the management and ownership of those hundreds of thousands of mutants.
"The cost can still be reduced after the production line is built. If the material cost on your side can be reduced." Tony looked at Nick.
"You should talk to Luke about this, not me." Nick shifted the blame onto the absent Luke. A price reduction? You're kidding! He and S.H.I.E.L.D. are already deeply in debt, okay? A price reduction was out of the question. Nick would rather Tony Stark talk to Luke over him than he would.
Do you understand the pressure of carrying a massive debt with a bunch of powerful creditors backing you? Luke heard that Mephisto, from the Hell dimension, has already begun preparing for future debt problems. In addition to the team roaming the universe to expand business, he's also preparing a team of carefully selected and powerful demonic debt collectors.
In short, the overlord, whose life had been so long that it was boring, seemed to have found a beacon for his future life, a goal to strive for. With high spirits, he immersed himself in building his own bank. To add some useful manpower, he even made a rare visit to the Ancient One. He didn't do it covertly, but instead set an example by paying the fee. He wanted to recruit a few souls from the Atrium who were experienced in finance and had worked in important positions at top banks to help out, with a salary! Naturalization to the Hell dimension wasn't required, but if it was needed, the Ancient One and Luke wouldn't mind. He could also meet all the requirements for naturalization and lifespan. He was a bit short on manpower in this area.
Nick was a little worried about this. What if the other party felt that his debt was an eyesore in the future and started to clean up internally and set an example? What could he do?
