"Calliah"he yelled louder, running through the rows of parked cars. Rain poured heavily, soaking his shirt, but he didn't stop.
"Im here". He heard a little faint voice coming from the end of the cars. He ran over there in haste
She tried to stand but fell back to the ground. Without a word, Axel pulled off his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. His dull green eyes shifted to the blood trickling down her knees.
He quickly lift her up as if she weight nothing then and pressed her head against his chest to shield her from the rain.
The wedding venue wasn't far, just a few meters away. Axel reached into his pocket to call his men, but his phone was switched off.
"Give me your phone" he said still lifting her up.
"Why? You have two phones"she asked weakly, raising her face slightly toward his.
"Yes," he said, voice low, "but one's dead, and the other has no numbers in it except yours."
She blinked in disbelief. "You must be joking."
He handed her the phone silently. She scrolled through the contact list and froze. Her name was the only one there.
"..?..." Her face completely blank.
"My phone is in my dress it got broken and I bet it won't work but still try it " she demonstrate him to pick it from her chest and he did without battling an eye
The phone wallpaper was still her and Zane. Maybe she doesn't have time to change it since she hellbent on taking revenge
He tried to call his men number but he didn't know it off head
"You really something else" she joked
"It seems we would have to go back to the Wedding and spent a night there" he suggested while she nodded
He walk through the rain but it wasn't as heavy as before they walked over to the house. They couldn't drive also because the rain is heavy and could cause accident on their way.
When they arrived, the guests were fewer now. The music had died down to soft chatter.
"Im coming right now" Jaydyn said talking to the caller ,walking pass them
"You sleeping here tonight,I have tell the maid to arranged your bed" he said removing his phone from his ear.
The rain wash down the blood but not the pain.Axel holding me still
Jaydyn walked out of the house obviously going out but isn't today is wedding night??
"You could drop me now people are staring"she whispered, her breath warm against his chest.
. He ignores her totally as he walked to the arranged room for both of them.
The room was wide, painted in dark tones elegant, but smaller than Axel's mansion.
The maid before leaving placed new clothes for both of them and food also
Axel opened the door and walked in he still haven't dropped her off
"We're already here so put me down"
He did as she requested but in the bed
"Why did you get yourself into all this?" he asked, squatting down to inspect her leg. His tone was calm, but his words were sharp. "Why didn't you wait for me? Can't you see how badly you hurt yourself?"His face obviously cold but still his face never change no matter the expression he made he still look handsome as fuck
"I get it.its my leg chill. I can take any risk just to do my mission and also I pass it "she rejoice " I didn't expect you to come find me "she smiled proudly but he stood up and ignored her
He didn't respond. He stood up silently, then moved behind her and started unlacing her dress without a word, Now she just with her undies. Her breast bare showing her pink nipples . He carried her up again and drop her in the warm tub and walked out to bring the dress the maid had drop it
. "When you're done tell me" he said strictly and the same time sweet
She nodded, sliding deeper into the tub
He then left her inside
Few mins later
"Axellll" she said quietly her voice barely a whisper.
"Axell"
He didn't heard her but went inside because it been long
She was already dress in a simple gown, her head damp. He carried her again to the bed and lay her to sit
"Wait here." He said lay her head on the bed then walked out of the room.
It was already in 10 pm. Maids scattered in the mansion living room. Picking sweeping arranging the house. Axel walked to Levi
"Get me a first aid box". He said while she bow down a little and went out to fetch the box from the room
A few sec she descend down the stairs rushing down with the first aid box
"Here."she said .
He took it without a word and went back upstairs.
"Calliah" still rest her head on the bed wood.
Calliah was still sitting there, leaning against the bed frame. Axel squatted in front of her, opened the box, and began cleaning her wound. The sting made her wince.
. "You're a doctor?" She asked.
He ignored her, his focus steady and unbothered.
"It seems you are angry." she murmured with a weak smile.
After he was done he placed the plaster on her leg.
"Lie" he voice sounds like a command. She did exactly like he said because she sense he was angry even though his face did change but his tone.
He keep the box aside. She stares at what he was doing.
"Stop staring and sleep at once" his voice cold again.
" Im cold "she whisper.Without hesitation, he picked up a button-up shirt from the bed (his) and helped her into it. The shirt was oversized, covering her down to her wrists.
"Now sleep we would be leaving Early." He used the duvet to cover her then place the pillow well for her to rest her head
"Good night". She yawned while He nodded once, turned off the lamp, and changed into a pair of joggers after taking a shower. His hair was messy, droplets sliding down his bare chest, tracing over the tattoo on his ribs.
He sat on the chair facing the window staring at the dark night. His eyes focus on a particular building faraway glowing faintly under the moonlight.
"Soon."he murmured, voice low and dangerous. His eyes gleamed with hate.
"Ahhh". Calliah said moving backward and forward
Behind him, Calliah twisted in her sleep. "Ahhh," she whimpered softly. "Zane…"
Axel turned immediately, walking to her side. Her forehead was hot, her skin covered in sweat. He fetched a towel and a bowl of warm water from the bathroom, soaking the towel before wiping her face gently. He unbuttoned the shirt halfway, cleaned the sweat from her chest and neck, then placed the towel on her forehead.
"Plssssss" she muttered. Her breath low and weak.
He turned over to her. Her eyes still closed tight
"Plsss mom I'm sorry"A tear slipped down her cheek. Axel brushed it away, silent, expression unreadable. He tucked a few strands of wet hair behind her ear. a drop of water left her eyes.
"Please mom please mom" She quickly yelled then suddenly sat up and hugged him tightly.
"I'm not okay" she spoke breathing on his bare back so loud .she hugged him so tight not leaving .He froze for a moment he hadn't hugged anyone in years, didn't know how to respond. Then slowly, he placed one hand on her hair, brushing it gently, the other on her back, tapping softly.
"Ahh...im sorry..for putting you in all this " she stammered between breaths.
Her body was hot and weak. He let her hold him until her breathing slowed and she fell asleep against his shoulder, her small snores barely audible.
He tried to lay her down but couldn't. she slept on his shoulder all through the night why he didn't blinked watching her little snore.
