Noemi was walking home from her night stroll when she heard painful groans coming from a narrow alley. She carefully peered around the corner and saw a figure kneeling on the ground. Cautiously, she approached.
"Are you okay?" she asked quietly.
A sharp voice responded, "Do I look okay?"
The response was harsh, but Noemi noticed the man was holding his side. She could see he was gentle and bleeding heavily.
"My God, you're bleeding! Please, let me help you," she said, rushing to his side and lifting him carefully.
"You don't have to help me. I'll handle everything myself," he replied dryly. But Noemi could tell from his tone that the man was lying. She was sure he was bleeding and in pain.
"But I want to help you," she said firmly, leading him to a taxi that was passing by. The taxi stopped and Noemi quickly helped the man get in. Then she got in herself.
The driver asked, "Where to?"
"To the nearest hospital, quickly!" Noemi replied rapidly.
The driver began speeding toward the nearest hospital. When they arrived, Noemi quickly paid the fare and then helped drag the man out of the taxi. She began pulling him toward the building. Once inside, they started shouting, "We need help!"
The nurses rushed to them and placed him on a stretcher. A doctor arrived and said, "He needs immediate surgery." They took him to the operating room.
Noemi sat down on a bench in the waiting area. A receptionist approached her and gently smiled. "Here," she said, handing her a glass of water.
Noemi smiled softly and took the glass. "Thank you," she said. After a few hours, the doctor who had operated on the man came out...
