Chapter 1 - Dear Teddy,

I had a dream.

*boom*

It was filled with grandiose details and wishes too much for one to withstand.

"Get down-"

Though, it was mine. And that is what made it matter more to me than anything else.

The battle raged on. Heroes and villains clashing. He froze, an inevitable action that cost the lives of thousands. An action that was bound to happen when one has never been plagued by the sight of death before.

He knew then, that he could not achieve his dream.

- - -

Shouta was angry. He was in the nurses office being taken care of by Recovery Girl. If he had just been fast enough or looked into the paparazzi bringing down a steel grade door. Nevertheless, what's done is now done. Though, he was miraculously free of any injuries.

He wonders how-

"Ah, you're awake. Good, I need you to take these." Shuzenji walked to him in a slow gait, her cane pricking the floor with every other step. She held out some pills and Shouta took them.

He looked at the colorfull little pills in his hands and asked, "Pain relievers?". The old woman shook her head. "They are for your cold that you managed to catch."

Cold? He thought about his injuries and- oh.

"Too bad your quirk doesn't take care of colds as well." He grumbled, swallowing the pills dry.

"Yes, well, my quirk did not take care of your prior injuries either."

What?

"What?" He repeated out loud cause he thought that warranted an explanation.

"He did the work. When we weren't looking."

Shouta felt a bit miffed that he apparently wasn't all that safe in the nurses office.

But then thought about it again for a bit and- yeah. That guy has been said to get in pretty much anywhere.

He didn't even have to break in apparently as they left the door wide open for him. Curtousy of Recovery Girl who wood rather this strange man heal one of their teachers than to let him have permanent damage left on his body by the nomu.

This strange man they are talking of was a bit like a vigilante. Except the stopping crime and villains part of it. He only looks for injured civilians and heroes and heals them. They even have reason to believe that he heals villains sometimes. Though, the villains always seem to do... good after he heals them. They don't have a name for him, but the staff at UA have taken to calling him Teddy, reminiscent of a huge soft Teddy Bear. Shouta ignores the name and the fact that they don't even know what this man looks like or what his quirk is. He is 90% sure that not even Nedzu knows. But Nedzu tends to know everything, hence the 10% room for error.

The man helps everyone. Especially people at UA. He will also show up at hospitals around Japan and help patients on their last breaths. It stooped everyone at first. People who were on the brink of death, suddenly all healthy and back on their feet within days, sometimes even hours.

It stumps them. All of them. A quirk that powerful isn't even registered (they looked- oh how they looked for months). His quirk seems to draw the line at people dying of natural means, like old age. There was an instance where an old woman lived months longer than what was predicted, and she later admitted to having been visited by a young man. She would not disclose anymore than that.

It wasn't Shouta's problem before. He never got involved, never would.

That was before. Now he feels indebted to this man. This man that never takes payment of any kind.

Shouta was in for it, it would seem.

If only he knew how deep into it he would get dragged.

Though, he wouldnt change any of it for the world.
