Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

"No, no, I just… got out of the shower…" Angelic bodies, by the way, hardly sweat, and they don't have any unpleasant odor. Taking a bath once a week is considered completely normal here. Naturally, not everyone does it—the exorcists, for instance, wash every day due to constant training, but regular, everyday angels can easily afford to do so without any regrets. "Come in," I sighed sadly and, letting the girl inside, closed the door behind her. I immediately noticed how Emily amusingly jumped when she heard the click of the lock. I then led her to the kitchen, carefully bypassing the living room where Lute was now.

For fuck's sake, couldn't she have come an hour later? It was clearly something important, or else Emy wouldn't have shown up at my place in the middle of the evening. Otherwise, I'd be chasing her out of here with a broom… Wooo, breathe out, calm down, and get ready for a serious conversation. No need to scare this little one with my pissed-off face (and I'm sure it was a VERY pissed-off face).

"Have a seat," I pointed to a chair, turning on the light and sitting down opposite her. My Lute is smart and beautiful, and the soundproofing in our house was practically nonexistent, so she could hear everything perfectly right now and, I'm sure, understood the situation completely. "So, for what reason exactly did you tear me away from… the moisture and bliss?" I tilted my head curiously, asking the noticeably nervous girl.

"Ahem…" she coughed awkwardly, then immediately blushed… okay, now that was strange. I was talking about the shower, but she was acting as if she knew perfectly well what I was about to be doing… "I… I wanted to talk about… Abaddon… and about your new ideas for Hell… Sera said you have to be at the meeting tomorrow, but your idea intrigued me so much that I decided to come today… I'm sorry for coming like this, uninvited, it's just that I…"

"Whoa, whoa, calm down," I waved my hands in a placating gesture, catching a glimpse of a curious, blonde head peeking out from the doorway out of the corner of my eye. Sly little golden eyes, with an equally sly, cat-like smirk, came into view, but I immediately shifted my gaze back to Emily, pretending that I didn't see an insanely attractive, half-naked Lute in her underwear right now.

"Okay. If you see Sera, tell her I'll definitely be there. And don't be so nervous," I exhaled again, turning on the kettle with telekinesis. "So, you wanted to discuss my new, brilliant ideas? I see Sera isn't hiding… things… from you anymore, is she?"

"Yes. After that moment of weakness of mine, Sera no longer 'protects' me, as she sees it…" A barely noticeable drop of resentment slipped into the girl's voice, but it was clear she didn't blame Sera anymore, as she had in the beginning. "She told me everything that I, as a Seraph, should know. And she explained why she didn't want me to know it all. I… I understand her. Even though it's a little hurtful that she still thinks of me as a child… even now…" the young Seraph finally showed all her sadness, and a levitating mug of hot, aromatic tea immediately appeared under her sad, cute nose.

"What?" I smiled, arching an eyebrow skeptically at the sight of a surprised Emily. "This is my favorite, try it," I smirked, then took a big gulp from my own mug (which, I remind you, was a liter).

"Ahem, thank you," Emily replied with a faint smile, before taking a small sip herself. "Oh, it really is very delicious."

"You bet," I nodded again, closing my eyelids for a moment. "But, as I understand it, you're interested in more… serious topics, aren't you?"

"Ahem, yes. I'm just not really sure where to start…" Emy hesitated, holding her mug tightly and nervously fidgeting with her fingers.

"Abaddon. That was the first topic you brought up. So what is it about him that interests you? His heart is still available, you know… a pretty good, promising option…" I said in a conspiratorial tone, looking directly into the eyes of the girl, who was now red as a beetroot.

"N-no! I… um… just…" the Seraph started waving her arms, risking spilling her tea… or rather, she definitely would have spilled it, but my telekinesis could work greater wonders than that, so I managed to keep all the tea in her mug.

"Calm down, you panic machine…" I chuckled into my fist, sipping my tea. "So, what is it about him that got you so interested?"

"Um… I apologize…" Emily said, exhaling in a desperate attempt to calm down, before taking a big gulp herself. "At your birthday party…" she began, but I immediately cut her off.

"At your party. You're a grown-up, independent girl now, aren't you?" I winked at her, and the girl's face turned crimson again… what's with that reaction?

"Ahem… when I first saw Abaddon at… your birthday party, I thought he would be more… evil, I guess?"

"Ah, so what you're interested in is why he, being a creature made of pure Darkness, remains a pretty decent, kind guy?"

"Well… basically, yes…"

"Hmm, well, if you think about it…" Here, I myself fell into thought, trying to figure out how to explain the structure of this world more clearly, given that I myself know very little. "Look. Everything that surrounds us is made of a certain primordial energy. Let's just call it 'Energy.' This Energy, in turn, consists of two components: Light and Darkness. As an integral part of this Energy, both Light and Darkness contain its components. That is, both Light and Darkness are equally necessary for the very existence of our world, and only the power of God allowed our universe to exist until the moment Darkness first penetrated our world. This, in turn, suggests that the penetration of Darkness was originally intended by God, but not at that moment, but much later, when human society would have been fully formed," I began from afar, simultaneously considering in my head what I should tell her and what would be better to keep to myself. I didn't want to give her dangerous knowledge she wasn't ready for. "Darkness, as one of the components of this Energy, is not a purely negative, evil element. Rather, it was Eve and all her followers who made Darkness something bad. After all, Lucifer and his daughter—I should introduce you two sometime, by the way—are quite kind and bright people at heart."

"The first one, admittedly, is a big fan of ducks and a depressive, melancholic loser, but at least he's trying to get better… lately…"

"To be honest, I'm not entirely sure about this myself, but it seems to me that Darkness itself can differ. The Darkness that was in me or in Abaddon was very different from the one Eve had, and I'm not just talking about it belonging to different beings: Eve's Darkness was more… alive? Animalistic, aggressive, wild, while our Darkness, for some completely incomprehensible reason, was more obedient and… how should I put it, completely controllable, almost domesticated."

I formed this theory back when Lucifer and I were creating Abaddon, whose body, by the way, was made from that very Darkness of Eve's that I took from Asmodeus, generously diluting it with a drop of my own Light and a whole bucket of my Darkness. My Darkness and Eve's, upon their first contact, seemed to… fight? In short, it was all very similar to the reaction when Light interacts with Darkness… It's complicated…

"Are you saying that Darkness differs, and that there can be… 'good' Darkness?"

"Among other things. After all, the very essence of Darkness is, in any case, far from anything positive," I took another sip, wetting my throat. "Abaddon is actually a very positive, kind creature because, at least in our Universe, it is consciousness that determines being. Abaddon is a good guy. So, his Darkness only slightly influences him and his thoughts, without turning him into some brainless, evil beast."

"Hmm…" It was clear that Emily was deep in thought. The topic was indeed complex and extremely ambiguous. I have to admit, even after all my lessons with the Seraphim, including the fallen ones (yes, yes, Lucy, I find myself thinking of you lately… and not always cursing your name…), I still don't fully understand the nature of Light and Darkness myself… Nor, for that matter, do the Seraphim.

"As for my plans for Hell… I'm actually going to give a speech on that tomorrow. I think it would be better if you heard about all of them there. Are you okay with that?"

"No, that's fine, I'll wait…" You could see that the girl wanted to hear everything right now. She was practically shaking with impatience. But her upbringing, in the end, did its job. So, the little one was restraining herself as best she could.

"By the way, about Abaddon…" I said thoughtfully, casting a mysterious glance at Emily and hiding my smirk behind my mug.

"What?" the girl asked, not yet understanding.

"I think it's not very nice to discuss him behind his back, don't you find?"

"But… we were just discussing the nature of Darkness and its influence on…" the Seraph began, and then she finally interpreted the mischievous glint in my eyes correctly. "Hey! You're just messing with me!"

"Oh, no, that can't be," I snorted, waving my hand with an important air. "Nevertheless, if he interests you so much… then it would be right if you were the one to ask him all your questions!" I pointed a finger at the girl, then abruptly created a small, golden portal under her, leading to one of the beautiful but deserted islands in the human world. A second later, I teleported to Abaddon himself, who, at that very moment… was enthusiastically soldering some microchip… interesting. I'll remember that too.

"Dad?!" the sole representative of the reaper race jumped in his spot. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, just wanted to introduce you to someone…" I said, creating another portal, this time under Abaddon's feet. "You two hang out there for at least an hour!" I shouted after the yelping Abaddon, who was caught by surprise, immediately closing the portal behind him. "Daddy wants grandkids…" I said with a satisfied smirk, seeing Seth's frightened eyes looking through the slightly ajar door. My middle son immediately sensed that some random person had shown up in his house and came to check. "You can't escape me, son! I'll talk your beloved into it, and I'll have my long-awaited grandkids very soon, MU-HA-HA-HA-HA!"

Ahem. Jokes were told, stress from the interrupted sex was released, and I even got revenge on the little disturber of my peace, so I guess I can go back… I'm afraid if I keep messing with poor Seth in his own home, he'll actually get offended… pfft…

I teleported home again and found a giggling Lute, who had already opened a bottle of wine and was now savoring its taste with pleasure.

"Ah, I see you're not wasting any time…" I walked over to her, kissed my darling on the top of her head, and took the second, already filled, glass from her hands. "I see the lady is in the mood to continue?"

"You bet. But here now, not in the living room…" my exorcist smirked, gently kissing me near my lips.

"Why's that?" I asked, not quite understanding the reason. "Not that I'm against it—I enjoy spending time with a beauty like you anywhere, but there must be a reason for such desires, right?"

"It's just… I'm not a big fan of people peeping on us…" Lute whispered in my ear.

"Peeping?"

"Mhm," she licked her lips playfully… this temptress! Only genuine curiosity and immense willpower kept me continuing this conversation. "A very young, curious girl flew over for a visit, but apparently, after seeing something interesting in our window, she decided to peek in first…"

"No way?! You don't mean to say that…" It hit me like a ton of bricks.

"Exactly…" The girl's hot breath on my neck immediately sent a whole herd of shivers down my spine. "The poor thing saw everything. And when she noticed my gaze, she probably thought she was about to be blamed for something, so she suddenly ran to ring our doorbell…"

"Now I get why she was blushing so much…" I sighed, relaxing my body and feeling that a little more, and my lust would be simply unstoppable. "Aren't you getting bold?" I said to the girl, who already had her hand on my abs and was leaving numerous hickeys on my neck. "I won't hold back, you know…"

"Oh, I beg you, please don't!" Lute declared cheerfully, and a second later I had her pinned to our couch and… well, adult entertainment, you know… it's too early for the little ones to know about this stuff, so, I don't know… go read a literature textbook or something? Sound good? Oh, who am I kidding. You're probably already pulling out your phone to scroll through TikTok, right…

A few hours later.

Man, what a day… or rather, evening… Although the day itself was quite eventful, I won't argue with that. Lying in my own bed, with a beautiful woman snuggled up beside me—it was pure bliss, especially if you love that beauty, and that love is mutual.

Emily, actually, was perfectly capable of opening portals between dimensions, so I wasn't worried about her and Abaddon at all. He, by the way, could do it too, as it was, literally, a basic skill in my humble opinion, and my son had been trained in it since birth. Honestly, I was even curious to see where this "joke" of mine would lead. Maybe the young ones would actually develop some bright, warm feelings for each other? Why not? Abaddon was a sly dog, sure, but he was a good guy at heart, so their personalities could definitely mesh. In short, if they become friends—great. If they become something more—even better. He has no business walking around with that smug, single face of his (a month old and still without a better half!).

It was already two in the morning. Because of my… special needs, let's say, it was difficult for Lute to get up as early as usual. She compensated for it with a nap in the afternoon (convenient), but to be honest, I felt a little guilty about it. The only thing was, I couldn't imagine how we could solve this problem of ours. Give up intimacy? Both I and my valkyrie were more than happy with it: look how hard she tried to turn me on. So, just giving it all up would be kind of stupid, but what other options did I have? At another, more convenient time? With my "stamina," which was top-notch before and has only gotten better over time—that's not even funny. I wasn't even fully satisfied as it was—I could go until morning… ahem… well, I think you get the picture.

So what else? Get someone else? In Heaven, that was the norm, of course, and Lute herself, back when she was human, lived in those distant times when it wasn't such a big deal. But my principles from my past life told me that it was all complete bullshit, and to be honest, I didn't have any desire for that for now. My beauty was more than enough for me…

Maybe create some kind of time artifact for it, then? Look, time in our worlds already flows differently: ten years in Hell or Heaven equaled one year in the human world, so why couldn't I create a special room where time flowed differently? So we could both get enough sleep and… well, it sounded good. And since all this was already working for us, there shouldn't be any particular problems with some kind of time continuum… At least, I didn't see any… Okay, the idea sounded good, so I'll definitely consult with the Seraphim about it. Maybe they'll have some suggestions…

As I was closing my eyes, I suddenly heard the doorbell ring… For fuck's sake, what is it with today?! Just let the savior of humanity get some rest! I gently kissed Lute on the top of her head and immediately teleported to the first floor, right to the door, then created a white terrycloth robe on my body.

"Yes?" I opened the door, feeling my eye start to twitch, and… "Lucifer?"

"Adam, sorry it's so late. I just got free…" Lucifer smiled awkwardly. "Listen, I wanted to ask you for a small favor. Could you help me out?"

"Of course, my friend! Anything for you!" I smiled friendly and placed a hand on "Lucifer's" shoulder. I don't know what kind of degenerate decided to play such a stupid prank on me, but the real Lucifer was barred from Heaven. He physically couldn't get past those Golden Gates. "So, how can I help you?"

"Oh, well, actually, I really miss my wife, Lilith…" "Lucifer" informed me, sighing sadly. I didn't place my hand on this idiot's shoulder for no reason. It was the easiest way to scan him with my senses. And there was absolutely ZERO Light in this person. To be more precise, there was something similar, supposedly, but it was so distant, so faint and weak, that the real Lucifer would have been offended if I confused his torrent of Light with this crap. "We haven't seen each other in a long time. I know she's at some resort right now, but I don't know where exactly she is. She's not answering her phone, so could you please take me to her?"

"Yes, of course…" I nodded, still maintaining a friendly, welcoming smile on my face. Meanwhile, I began to fill the space around the stranger with the energies of Darkness and Light. Lucifer had taught me this, explaining that this potent, unstable crap would be dangerous for any creature, and in my execution… "Fireball."
