Linck collapsed onto the bed the moment he entered his hotel room. He had chosen the most luxurious suite available, the kind decorated in gold and jade, with a bed so soft it felt like it could swallow him whole.
Out of the corner of his eye, he glanced at the two massive crates filled with cash beside him. Even now, he could hardly believe any of this was real.
Just not long ago, he had been at home, rewatching Hunter × Hunter while idly playing his Pokémon game.
Who could have guessed? One blink later, he found himself in another world. After some cautious investigation, Linck confirmed the unbelievable truth: he had been transported into the world of Hunter × Hunter.
Now, normally, being sent into your favorite anime world might sound like a dream come true. But this was Hunter × Hunter we were talking about!
Linck knew perfectly well what kind of world this was, a brutal realm where the law of the jungle ruled, a world of constant danger.
Here, strength was everything.
Monsters, rare beasts, treasures, secret artifacts, forbidden lands, uncharted realms… All of it sounded enticing, but only if you had the power to claim them.
Without strength, you were no better than an ant, your fate entirely in someone else's hands.
Look at the A-rank criminals of the Phantom Troupe, mass murderers who had taken countless lives, yet roamed free and untouchable.
In this world, there was no clear line between black and white, only a refined, dangerous shade of grey.
It didn't matter whether you were good or evil, noble-born or beggar. If you were strong enough, you could live freely here.
Take, for example, the infamous Zoldyck family, the world's number one family of assassins. Why had no one dared to challenge them? The answer was simple: overwhelming strength.
At first, Linck had grumbled endlessly. He'd been playing Pokémon, so why couldn't he have been sent to the Pokémon world instead? That would have been great!
But now, here he was, dropped into a world where you couldn't guarantee living to see tomorrow.
Who knew? Maybe one day he'd simply pass by a Nen user in a bad mood, and that would be the end of him.
Not to mention the countless bizarre creatures and disasters lurking here.
Without sufficient ability, you could easily end up infected by some strange bacteria or virus and die before you even knew what had happened.
The only thing Linck felt thankful for was that he hadn't landed in Meteor City, but instead in a quiet alley of an ordinary town.
From what he'd read, eight out of ten Hunter × Hunter fanfictions had their protagonists land in Meteor City…
Once he calmed down, however, a message suddenly flowed into his mind, and his complaints stopped at once.
[Nen Ability: Pokémon Master]
1. Acquisition: Upon arriving in a new region or participating in certain events, there is a chance to generate a Pokémon.
The greater the fame and uniqueness of the location, the higher the probability, and the stronger the resulting Pokémon. Participating in original story events further increases this probability.
Each Pokémon is a unique individual, formed from Nen but unable to be duplicated. If a Pokémon dies, it is gone forever.
Restriction: Generating a Pokémon takes time, and the duration is random, generally, the stronger the Pokémon, the longer the time required.
2. Training: Pokémon gain experience through battles. Once the experience bar is full, they evolve to the next stage.
Stronger opponents yield more experience. Some special Pokémon have other methods of evolving. If multiple Pokémon fight together, the experience is shared evenly.
Restriction: Each enemy yields experience only once. Defeating the same opponent again grants no experience.
3. Pokédex: Can identify information on any object, including Pokémon. The more mysterious the object, the less information is revealed.
Because Pokémon exist in a different world, some of their move effects may vary.
Restriction: Identifying non-Pokémon information consumes a small amount of the user's Nen.
By the time Linck finished reading the message, he finally understood why he hadn't been sent to the Pokémon world, the Pokémon had been waiting for him here.
No exaggeration, this was his cheat, his golden finger as a transmigrator.
From what the ability description said, all he had to do was travel, visiting famous places or involving himself in major story events, and he'd have chances to gain Pokémon.
Even better, he hadn't undergone any formal Ren and Ten training. His Nen ability had awakened naturally.
Linck suspected he might be like Neon in the original story, a naturally gifted Nen user.
Turning his head, Linck caught sight of a figure that immediately drew his attention, flowing emerald-green hair, eyes like flawless rubies, a crimson gemstone embedded in her chest, and a long, elegant white gown that gave her the air of a refined noble lady.
It was none other than the so-called Empress of Psychic Power, Gardevoir!
Pokédex, activate!

She had appeared alongside the Nen ability message, his starter gift, so to speak.
The short, pitiful amount of visible data made Linck thoughtful.
Pokédex rankings were graded alphabetically.
He hadn't yet met other Nen users, so he couldn't tell exactly what "B-rank" meant, but it surely wasn't weak.
Most importantly, even though Pokémon appeared here in the form of Nen beasts, each was an independent being.
They didn't draw from his Nen reserves during battle, they fought using their own energy.
It was just like real Pokémon, moving and acting on their own stamina.
Linck's body was more like a large Poké Ball, merely storing them, while they could return to recover their strength.
That meant that even if Linck didn't train his own Nen capacity, he could still become strong through his Pokémon.
Others had to risk their lives in battle; he only needed to play the role of a Trainer, giving commands from behind.
The only part that required his own Nen was the Pokédex function.
