Chapter 109 - First relatives

There are no R18 elements this time.

Sabaody Archipelago

It 's a sort of Rogue Town , where those heading to the New World gather to prepare for the journey .The Great RouteGrand Line

Luffy's Adventure Team also arrived on the island made up of 79 trees, where many different people have washed up, from lawful adventurers like the Adventure Team to outlaws like pirates.

"[change]"

There is no set rule, but rather the numbers are naturally assigned, with numbers 1 to 29 being lawless areas, numbers 30 to 39 being downtown areas, numbers 40 to 49 being tourist-related, numbers 50 to 59 being shipyards and coating workshops, numbers 60 to 69 being naval bases, and numbers 70 to 79 being hotel districts.

The Sunny docked at Mangrove No. 54, where coating work and other procedures were being carried out.

From here, we will ask a coating craftsman to do the job, but Ace, who has coated something of a similar size to the Sunny in the past, says that the job will take at least several days.

"Okay, this way no one will find out."

To achieve this, they disguised Ace to look exactly like Luffy, Robin to a male, and Camie to a human instead of a mermaid.

By the way, Camie was originally planning to guide us to Sabaody Archipelago, but she offered to guide us all the way there, saying, "I might as well go back to Fishman Island first."

I had no reason to refuse, and the children had grown attached to me, so I was grateful.

Also, for Ace and Robin, we decided to use look-alikes with the same names.

Pappag was skeptical, saying "That can't be true...", but he bribed her with clams, and Camie was completely fooled, saying "Got it!"

"Ace, Vivi, Robin, and I will look for craftsmen. Makino, Nami, and Nojiko will do the shopping. The rest of you will stay home."

"Eh!"

It was Oto who complained about being left alone.

As a young girl, she probably thinks, "If my dad is going out, I want to go with him."

Uta gently soothed her daughter, saying, "Hey, don't be selfish."

"Isn't Daddy going out to play today?"

"Brrr..."

"Oh, that's right! Daddy, there's an amusement park on this island."

"…amusement park!"

Camie suddenly had an idea and mentioned the entertainment facilities on the island, and Oto's eyes lit up, having never been to such a place in his life.

It's similar to taking a stroll on the Bull at Water Seven, but even as a child, I think he understands that it's a facility that's more focused on play.

Robin, realizing the reason for the conversation, said, "Well, if you can stay home today, then let's go with Daddy tomorrow," and Robin seemed to cheer up by saying "Yes!", and excitedly exclaimed with a mysterious excitement, "Yuuuenchi! Yuuuenchi!"

"Sorry, both of you."

"No, I wanted to go to Sabaody Park too, but it would be a problem if people found out I was a mermaid... but with this I can go."

Camie said happily as she looked at her feet.

No one would know she was a mermaid this way, and no one would find out unless she was submerged in seawater or Luffy removed the mask.

"--Oops."

However, it was a little wobbly, probably because it was different from the tail fin.

I'll be staying on the boat for the day to practice getting used to my legs.

"Well then, Mikita. I'll leave it to you while I'm away."

"Yeah"

"I landed here at Mangrove 23 a long time ago, and it was here that the sailor met the coating craftsman."

Ace and I arrived at Mangrove, located in the lawless zone of Zone 20.

As soon as they stepped inside, the usual stalls and shops disappeared, and instead, a bunch of rough-looking guys attacked them, mainly targeting Vivi and Robin.

--By the way, they were defeated in seconds.

"I know the name, but the question is whether it's that easy to find."

"What's your name?"

"...Silvers Rayleigh."

Ace mentioned the coating craftsman's name, sounding somewhat reluctant to meet him.

Luffy and the others couldn't hide their surprise at this.

"That is..."

"Maybe... Hades."

"...The Pirate King's right hand man?"

A living legend who has been said to be the first mate and right-hand man of the Pirate King, Gold Roger, and whom everyone has heard of at least once.

He is said to have disappeared with the dawn of the Great Age of Pirates, and some even say he has died.

"I haven't met him yet... I still don't want to meet him."

"picture?"

"...Well, I guess so."

If he wanted to make a name for himself as a pirate, the head of the King of the Underworld, the right-hand man of the Pirate King, even though he was old, should have been the biggest thing of all.

In addition, Whitebeard was a rival of Roger, and they had even fought to the death, so he would also be a target for Ace.

Vivi and Robin don't understand why he doesn't want to meet them, but Luffy, who knows the situation, understands.

"I think if I mention the name of my first mate, they'll probably be able to coat it for me. Ah, his name is Masked Deuce."

"TRUE?"

"I don't know the details either, but it seems we hit it off. At the very least, he has a good eye for people, so as far as I know, he's the only craftsman I can trust."

But there's a problem here.

First of all, we don't know where Rayleigh is.

To do this, you need to ask around, but the mangroves around here are a lawless zone.

"So, you don't know?"

"I, I don't know! I don't know anyone like that!"

I asked after fighting off the people who were attacking me.

But it always comes back the same.

In the first place, it's hard to imagine the Pirate King's right-hand man not hiding his name or identity.

"--What should we do?"

Luffy asked as they held a strategy meeting once the number of attackers had exceeded ten.

To be honest, Ace didn't think they would have so few clues, and he looked embarrassed. Robin seemed fine, but Vivi was starting to look tired.

"If coating takes so long, I don't want to go through the trouble any more..."

"Hmm... Should we take a break somewhere? Even in lawless areas there are probably bars."

"There's a building that looks like it over there."

Where Robin was pointing, a building that looked like a bar came into view, slightly higher up.

Bibi was tired and needed to settle down somewhere, so they headed there.

"--Would you like to close this store?"

It's no wonder Luffy says that.

The sign on the store read "Shacky's Rip-off Bar."

The store's appearance is full of things to point out, so I hesitate to enter.

"Well, it should be fine. If push comes to shove, I can just use my ability to burn it down..."

"That's a last resort."

Well, even if something were to happen, they would be able to deal with it with Luffy, who can apply his abilities, Ace, who is confident in his strength, Vivi, who has good negotiating skills, and Robin, who is knowledgeable.

Thinking that, Luffy opened the door and the doorbell rang.

"I'll pay..."

"Come in, what would you like?"

"Hey, should we just quit this store?"

Inside the store there was a woman smoking a cigarette, who seemed to be the owner, and several men in tatters, who seemed to be customers.

Luffy said this because there was a limit to how bad the security situation was, but when he was asked, "Oh, are you just messing around?", for some reason it felt like he was in the wrong.

"...First of all, I'd like to know the price."

"Water is 1000 berries, rum is 2000 berries, and snacks are 800 berries."

"It's not a rip-off!!"

When Bibi pointed out the exorbitant price, the woman responded, "Oh," as if she had found something interesting.

He then threw away the man he was holding and looked closely at Luffy and Vivi.

"What a surprise, I never thought I'd meet the hero and princess of Alabasta."

"!!"

"Who are you?!"

The fact that Alabasta had put an end to a coup with the help of a certain adventure team was reported in the newspapers, but their names and photos were not circulated.

He also immediately realized that Vivi was the princess of Alabasta.

Luffy and Ace couldn't help but be on guard, as he seemed to know so much about the place for someone who was just a bar owner.

"I'm Shakuyaku, a shopkeeper with some insider knowledge. Hehe, I've always wanted to meet you, Mon-chan."

With that, Shakuyaku poured four glasses of alcohol from the bar counter and placed them on the counter.

Then he kicked the man who was lying on the ground and said, "It's a treat, I won't charge you anything. Just sit and wait, I'll rip you off an exorbitant amount of money."

"I quit piracy, but I was a pirate and Garp chased me once."

After that, after swindling the men out of their money and kicking them out of the store, Shakuyaku spoke nostalgically about the past.

For a moment I was wary that he might have some grudge against Garp, but he replied, "It's an old story," and it seemed like he was just reminiscing.

"Besides, Mon-chan... you went to Women's Island, right?"

"...How much do you know?"

"I have a connection with the Kuja. I was especially interested when I heard that Hancock and the others knew the secret she had when she was young, and that she was the one that the girl who hated men fell in love with."

Hancock had hoped to become Luffy's wife, but given her position as the leader of the Kuja, she agreed that it would happen eventually.

Even Grandma Nyong, who knew him from his childhood, could not hide her surprise.

"It's an old woman's concern. Those kids are like my grandchildren."

"How old are you?"

"Don't do it, if you say something stupid it won't lead to anything good."

Ace can't help but comment on Shakuyaku's age, as she treats Hancock, who is older than them, like a granddaughter. Luffy, perhaps from past experience, warns him off, imagining that if he speaks too much, things will get complicated.

"By the way, why are you boys here? You didn't come to this area without knowing about it, did you?"

"Oh, yeah. I'm looking for a coating technician. I heard there was a skilled one around here a while ago."

"Oh, Ray. He's not here right now."

The coating craftsman - perhaps he knew about the Pirate King's right-hand man - he spat out the cigarette he was holding in his mouth, holding it between his fingers and blowing out the smoke, in a shocked manner.

This is an unexpected clue, but perhaps Shakuyaku and Rayleigh are close.

"Then I'll just wait for you to come back..."

"He hasn't been back for six months. He hasn't been back for several years, but when he remembers, he shows up and goes off to live with the woman he's had outside... It'll probably be a while before he comes back again."

Shakuyaku said this as if he was used to it, but Luffy and the others were disappointed.

It was a valuable clue, but now we're back to square one.

"Hehe, don't be so depressed. I'll lend you this."

Shakuyaku said as he took out a piece of paper.

It's just an ordinary piece of paper with no writing or anything written on it, but what is it?

"Is this... a Bibble Card?"

"I'm sure Bibble Cards are papers that tell you a person's direction, right?"

"Yes, this is that person's Vivre Card. If you trace it, you can meet that person. But what if you lose it..."

Having your location known at all times is an incredible information advantage.

Shakuyaku, understanding this, emphasized with a slightly murderous look in his eyes, and Bibi's face turned pale and she nodded vigorously.

"Is it okay to borrow something so important?"

"I told you, old ladies, I just wanted to give Hancock's favorite man a little help."

--63 Mangrove: Naval Garrison

"It's been a long time, Smoker."

[Looks like you're doing it in a flashy way.]

Sabaody Archipelago, where pirates often stop in preparation for the New World, has a larger garrison than other towns in case of emergencies.

It was Tashigi who came there to submit a report.

You may have forgotten, but Tashigi is on Luffy's ship to supervise the ship.

They submitted reports to the island's naval station detailing any troubles they had experienced during their voyage or stay on the island, as well as details of their navigational skills and the backgrounds of their crew members.

The receptionist at Sabaody Archipelago then contacted her former boss for the first time in a long while, saying, "You're Sergeant Tashigi, right? Colonel Smoker in Rogue Town has left a message for you to contact him."

[I couldn't believe my ears when I heard he was involved in the big capture in Alabasta]

"Ah, haha... it was just a wonderful coincidence."

Smoker, who had been sent out to help her gain strength, was surprised to learn that Tashigi was guarding Vivi during Crocodile's attempted takeover of Alabasta shortly thereafter.

Incidentally, after that, when she was involved in Gasparde, and for some reason when she returned to the East Blue to capture the Trump Pirates, and when she helped with the damage recovery caused by Aqua Laguna, her chaotic reports were so out of hand that it seemed Tashigi wondered if the person writing the reports was really Tashigi.

[How is it? Have you gained enough strength?]

"...I'm still inexperienced. But I think I've got the opportunity to become stronger."

How to use Haki, learned from Amazon Lily.

Right now, it is possible to wrap it around a sword and cut with it just like the girls, but I heard that if one becomes an expert, they will be able to dye it black like a sword.

That's why he was currently training with an emphasis on using Haki.

"I see, then maybe it's a good time."

"timing…?"

--Number 9 Mangrove

"Oh, wait."

The four of them left the rip-off bar and started moving around relying on their Bibble Cards.

Occasionally they would change direction depending on the direction of the Bibble Card, but as they were walking down a main street, Vivi noticed a different reaction than before and called out to them.

"what up?"

"The paper is facing backwards..."

"So it's near here?"

The fact that the Vivre Card retreated meant that it had missed Rayleigh.

However, there are a lot of people on the main street, so it's not possible to call out to each and every one of them.

"What are you going to do?"

"I should have at least asked about his appearance."

"...No, it's him."

The four of them don't know what Rayleigh looks like, but Ace sees an old man and realizes that it is Rayleigh.

An old man wearing a robe and glasses was walking along, drinking alcohol from a flask.

"Well, why...?"

"I'll go into the alley. You'll lose me."

He wonders why he thought it was Rayleigh, but when Rayleigh veers off down a narrow path and he loses sight of him, he quickly chases after him.

"Hey, wait!"

Ace called out to Rayleigh as he made his way further down the alleyway, with Luffy, Vivi, and Robin following close behind.

Rayleigh didn't seem to notice when Ace called out to him, and as he continued on, Ace put his arm around his shoulder.

"Huh?!"

"law"

Ace's hand went to grab his shoulder but missed, and a sharp kick went through the side of his face.

Rayleigh exclaimed, as if impressed by the situation.

"I thought he was a bandit or someone's henchman... but I see, he doesn't seem to be a lowlife."

"You...!"

"Hey, stop!"

Luffy steps in between Ace, who is about to instinctively launch a counterattack.

When I showed that I wouldn't resist, Rayleigh, although still on guard, relaxed his stance.

Suddenly in a state of war, Vivi gasped, unable to breathe properly.

"We're not here to harm you. We're here to ask for a job."

"Hmm... then perhaps we should unmask it?"

"...!"

Rayleigh said, looking at Ace and then Robin.

Since arriving on the island, Ace and Robin have had their tags swapped to make them appear to be different people, thus concealing their gender.

But this deception has never been discovered until now.

"That's a good disguise. You wouldn't be able to tell at first glance. But if you have a certain level of Kenbunshoku Haki, it will feel strange. If you're deceiving yourself like that, it could be because you care about what other people think, or because you're deceiving me... No, judging from your behavior, it's the former. But even I can't trust people who are so good at concealing their identities."

"What did you say... Luffy?"

"They're the ones who are right. Luckily, the others won't see us here."

Luffy glanced at Robin as he said this, nodding in agreement that it would be best to deactivate his powers for now and reveal his true identity.

Luffy changed the tag he had edited back to "[Return]".

"...! Oh, the power of a Devil Fruit... And the World Government is desperate to get their hands on these two..."

"I apologize for being rude"

"Well, I'm sorry too. I see, if that's the case, it can't be helped. I was asking for too much."

When he found out that the two were actually Ace and Robin, he understood why they had been hiding their identities and agreed to go back to their original identities, saying, "It would be better if we went back to normal."

By the time the tag was returned, Ace had calmed down and, although he looked a little annoyed, returned to his counterattack position.

"I would like to commission a coating based on the skill you showed me in the past when you worked on the ship that Masked Deuce rides on."

"I see, so this is his introduction. Hehe, that brings back memories... That'll be good. Where is the ship?"

"Mangrove sloop number 54."

When I told him that, he said, "I'll grab my tools and meet you later," and walked off in the direction of Peony Bar.

At this point, the tension finally subsided and Vivi was able to calm her breathing.

"Vivi, are you okay?"

"Yes... but he really was Silvers Rayleigh."

"Yeah, I was surprised too. I never thought you'd figure it out in one shot."

I understand that there's a chance that someone might notice me messing with Ace's appearance recognition tag.

However, I was surprised that he was able to see through Robin's completely altered body using the information tag.

This just goes to show how strong Rayleigh's observation Haki is.

"...I'm done searching for you, let's go home."

Ace, on the other hand, left the scene without saying anything to Rayleigh.

Seeing this, Robin, Luffy, and Vivi returned to the Sunny.

--Mangrove No. 54

"For something this large, it takes at least three days... but if you want to do a thorough coating, you'll want four days."

Rayleigh, who arrived on the Sunny with coating tools, calculated how long the job would take.

He sometimes takes on jobs from pirates, and some clients ask him to hurry up even though they are being chased.

"Safety comes first over time, so there's no problem if it's extended by a day or two."

"Also, I'll need you to leave the ship while the coating is being done, so please stay in the hotel."

"Understood"

After finishing up the business meeting, Luffy returned to the ship.

On the deck, Camie was practicing walking, and Makino and the others were helping her.

"Oh, Luffy. Is this going to take a while?"

"Yeah. Everyone, you'll be staying in a hotel for four days while the coating is being done. Get ready."

At Luffy's call, everyone began to prepare to get off the ship.

Things like preparing a few days' worth of clothes, food that is about to expire, books to pass the time during your stay, and money for your stay.

"Did you forget anything?"

"No way!"

"I think it's okay."

Uta also packed her bags in her room with Oto and Adele.

Uta nodded in satisfaction as she took out a small bag for the two of them and checked their clothes, study materials, and books they were reading.

"Now, Mom will get ready, so you two wait on deck."

"Yes!"

"Oh, Oto, you're going to fall."

Oto, probably feeling like he was on an adventure, happily puts his bag on his back and leaves the room, and Adele follows him, perhaps feeling a sense of responsibility as an older sister to take care of him.

Seeing this, Uta laughed in amazement, saying, "You're so energetic."

"Number one!...oh."

"Oh."

The adults were busy not only preparing for themselves but also handling the mess while they were away.

So Oto thought there was no one there, but there was an old man she didn't recognize.

"Grandpa, who is it?"

"Hello, I'm Rayleigh. You can call me Ray. What about you?"

"Oto, Oto! Hello!"

As they greet each other cheerfully, Adele finally catches up and apologizes to Rayleigh, saying, "Hey, Oto! Sorry for bothering you..."

However, it wasn't particularly bothersome, and Oto and Adele were so polite that Rayleigh smiled and said, "No, no."

"I'm still surprised. To think that there are young children like you on a ship that has already reached the midpoint of the journey."The Great RouteGrand Line

"Um... is it really that rare?"

Otho, who has never seen anyone other than Adele and Elegia, who have been on Gaspard's ship the whole time, does not know if there are other children like him.

So when I asked him curiously, Rayleigh replied, "That's true," stroking his chin as he thought about it.

" Even adults are wary of this kind of water. It's rare for people to take children there. However, there are times when they take children on board for some reason during a voyage, or when they rescue children who are lost at sea. Shanks... he was still young when I picked him up."The Great RouteGrand Line

"Huh..."

"Huh...? Big sister Adele, Shanks is your mom's dad, right?"

""---teeth?""

Rayleigh and Adele both froze as Oto tilted his head to the side and listened.

The fate of Uta and Oto was common knowledge on the ship, including Mikita, who boarded later, but this did not include Adele.

This is simply because the story of "being abandoned by her adoptive parents in a country that they destroyed at a young age, and then giving birth to a baby" is a heavy and difficult story for a child to understand.

So Adele only knew that Uta and Oto had suffered greatly at the hands of pirates, and she thought that Amazon Lily was being wary of them because of that.

"Shanks is your...mother's father? Are you sure?"

"Um... well... Moms... were talking about that..."

Oto said this in disbelief, feeling a little scared as Rayleigh approached her, lowering his hips to meet her gaze.

Adele noticed this and came to her senses, hiding Oto behind her and standing between them to protect him.

"Um... ah, sorry. I scared you."

Rayleigh, realizing that he had acted immoral towards a child, was upset but distanced himself a little to show that he would not do anything again.

However, perhaps because he was a child, once he was scared he would not easily let his guard down. Oto looked at Rayleigh from Adele's shadow with a frightened look on her face, and Adele did not let her guard down either.

"Adele, Oto, what are you doing?"

Finally, Nojiko, who had finished her preparations first, appeared on deck, and the two of them hid behind her and got away from Rayleigh.

"--To be precise, I was raised by the Red Hair Pirates."

After that, while we were trying to calm the two who seemed frightened, other adults arrived, and while they were confused by the strange situation, Rayleigh asked Uta, "Are you Shanks' daughter?"

It was then that I finally realized that Oto had reacted and confronted Rayleigh when he mentioned Shanks' name.

The adults other than Luffy and Uta had the children, who were scared of Rayleigh, go to the hotel first to talk to him.

Oto then explained her origins - how she was picked up by Shanks and his crew, how she called herself a musician for the Red Hair Pirates, how she met Luffy when she was a child, how the Red Hair Pirates destroyed Elegia and she was left behind, and how if Luffy had not come, or if she or Oto had not come to pick her up, she would have starved to death.

"…I see"

Rayleigh listened to it without interrupting, and when he finished he gulped down the Skittles of alcohol he had brought with him.

Then he crushed the Skittle in his hand.

"Sorry."

"There's no need for you to apologize."

"No, to me, Shanks is like my own child. I have no intention of interfering with his way of life as a pirate, but my role as a parent is a different matter. He treated you as a parent, not as a pirate, and that hurt you. If that's the case, then it's my responsibility as Shanks' parent."

This apology comes not from his position as the first captain of the pirate crew he once belonged to, but from his position as a parent.

In that case, Uta, as a parent, had no choice but to accept his words.

"...Apologizing will only cause trouble. So if you ever get into any trouble in the future, I will definitely come and help you. Whether it's Marine Headquarters, Impel Down, or Laugh Tale, I will definitely come and help you."

"There's no need to do that. I guess I wasn't even his daughter..."

"No, this is just for my own satisfaction. Besides, even if you're not his daughter, to me you're like a granddaughter. Once I acknowledge you as a child, I can't and shouldn't pretend that you never existed. That's why I'm still Shanks' parent."

This is what a true parent is.

Uta's parents had left her behind and she had pretended that their connection never existed, and she had been trying to cover it up.

However, Rayleigh still maintained a connection with his child and refused to run away from that responsibility.

Uta, who had never known her parents, realized once again that these were her real parents.

"Well then... next time I see Shanks, I'd like you to punch me instead."

"Yeah, I'll give you a giant punch. I got punched by Garp when I was younger, so I have plenty of experience."

Rayleigh said as he looked at Luffy. Like Shakuyaku, he probably knew that Luffy was Garp's grandson.

However, I was reminded once again of his great-heartedness, which did not seem to bother him.

Rayleigh gave a slightly scary smile to Uta, who was giggling, and Luffy, who was amazed at Luffy's seemingly limitless potential, and said, "Well then," before putting away the crushed Skittle and picking up a large brush.

"This is the ship that my granddaughter and her child will be on. Let's get to work with all our might."

I actually struggled with a lot of things...

In the original, Hachi guides Ace to Shakuyaku and Rayleigh's place, but I started off wondering what to do here.

Of course, I knew from online sources that the craftsman Ace had previously hired was Rayleigh, so I decided to go with that. However,

when I actually read the manga, I found out that the craftsman was Rayleigh, and that Ace didn't want to meet him because of his grudge against Roger... Hmm. It also

seems like he hadn't met Shakuyaku yet, so I ended up just wandering around.

In the original, there's a scene where she's a fan of the Island of Justice, but that's not the case here... It was a bit of a stretch, but I decided to become interested in her after learning about the incident in Alabasta (and her connection with Garp).

I also had her care about Hancock on the Isle of Women—I think I managed to secure Shakuyaku's trust with this...

Also, meanwhile, Tashigi at the time.

Some of you may have forgotten, but she was on board as part of her Marine duties.

…I actually wanted to show that kind of reporting up until now, but since the Navy garrison has never been clearly mentioned, it's dragged on like this.

And then finally, there's contact with Rayleigh.

Ace recognizes her because she exudes a different aura than an ordinary person and because he senses something fateful about her.

And then, for the first time in this series, the tag is discovered.

In Impel Down, I briefly explained that "he probably wouldn't have used his Observation Haki, so he wouldn't have noticed," but if he had used some level of Observation Haki, this is what would have happened.

Also, Ace is aware that he's Roger's child and that he escaped, but he pretends not to notice so as not to interfere too much.

Having heard that Rayleigh is the Pirate King's right-hand man, Luffy assumes that no one will find out either.

Now that I think about it, Uta's character has changed somewhat since she's become a mother.

I wanted to make her feel more like a sister, but it seems like I could only manage to make her seem like a proper mother.

The biggest problem I had with creating this story was how Rayleigh would find out that Uta is Shanks' daughter.

I don't think Luffy or Makino know that Shanks was raised by Roger and Rayleigh, and conversely, Uta probably wouldn't have heard it from Shanks herself... If they

were to find out by chance, I thought they'd mention Shanks in Rayleigh's reminiscences or something. At first, I thought Rayleigh might have let it slip to Adele or someone watching the work, but I somehow wanted to make it seem like Rayleigh thought of Oto as his grandson (or rather, great-grandson), so I made them acquainted, and that's how the story ended up revealing it.

Also, as in the story, Adele's lack of knowledge about Shanks is too heavy for a child to know, so I ended up just assuming that Uta harbors some kind of animosity toward some pirate on Amazon Lily.

Well, even if Oto didn't hear it from Uta, I think she probably overheard Luffy and the others explaining it to them, and it wouldn't be strange for her name to come up in Gordon and Uta's conversation.

And then there's Uta and Rayleigh's conversation.

They probably won't say anything about Shanks's actions as a pirate, but if they were to claim him as their "parent" after seeing them, that would be different.

Just like in the original story, he reunites with Shanks at Sabaody Archipelago,

quietly angry at the fact that Shanks had abandoned his child, let alone left him to starve to death.

He promises to help in place of Shanks, who has abandoned his parental responsibilities.

…I actually wanted to follow that up with a plot twist where he refuses to charge for the coating, as if to say, "I can't take money from my grandson," but I didn't have the space to incorporate it.

One thing I forgot to explain: Sabaody Archipelago takes place further in time than the original story, so Rayleigh sells himself and steals money from the Human Shop, the Celestial Dragons return without being hit by Luffy, and the Worst Generation sets sail one after another.

In the original story, these problems occur before Ace's execution, but in this work, I'm considering the time it takes to travel from Water 7 to the East Blue and reach Amazon Island to roughly the same place, so all of these events have already passed.

I'm considering an if scenario in which Luffy from this work makes a move on a Celestial Dragon, but the connections and developments later on are quite forced, so I might include it if the opportunity arises.

Well, the next story will contain R18 elements and is scheduled to be posted on the 27th.
