On a Thursday afternoon; my father after spending hours on a computer finally published a book titled "ÌTÀN IGBESI AYE MI" in English this means "MY LIFE STORY", he screamed with a loud voice saying, "Bẹẹni Nipari Mo ti ṣe", meaning "Yes, finally I did it!".
My siblings and I were shocked we all went to his room to check if he's okay, not until we saw him smiling back at his computer, I was so angry grumbling back to my room,
I don't even see that as an achievement. I stopped reading his books at age 19, four years ago and I don't care to read any of his book ever again.
Ever since I've been reading my father's books, I must say it's all fairly tales.
I don't just want to read or hear any of his stories anymore, so I made up my mind not to ever read any of his books again.
I am not close to my father because I think he's uninvolved with my life. He didn't tell me anything about his life, how he managed to survive and win, he didn't tell me anything about his past or any of his childhood stories and he never gives advice. My dad only calls me when he wants coffee, he's never really given a damn about me and as a man in his 60s, I think he should be friendly and try to be lively with people especially to his children. It was always me calling him, two months ago, I decided to stop and see what happens. Well, it's been two months and I've heard nothing
On a Sunday morning , he called me I already know he called for coffee so I prepared my coming with his coffee in my hands, I really do not want to go back to his room till the next day cause I'm the only one he calls to bring him coffee, my siblings also have their duty to perform but mine was to bring him coffee every morning. Getting to his room he asked me to come in to my surprise my father has never asked me to enter inside his room.
He gave me the book to read, In fact I was the first person he gave the book to
I opened the front cover of the book in his presence just to let him see I'm interested in reading it. Always acts this way. I read the first line and walk down to my room throwing the book on the bed moaning, "Hmmph! Not again!!!".
