Chapter 2 - Ishid Auril

I hope you'll be comfortable, Liz?

The scent of roses filled her head as she entered the old rustic bedroom.

Why is this place filled with roses and the colour red?, she thought to herself as she recalled the large living room, also smelt like roses and only had red furniture.

Yes, absolutely, Ishid, this room is beautiful. The view of the lake below is absolutely breathtaking.

She said, smily rather coldly. Her heart still beating due to this strange man's behaviour, not wanting to upset him

Who knows what'll happen to him otherwise

Well, thank the heavens you love it.

Is it okay if I take a nap? I'm tired from the long journey.

You don't even have to ask,Liz.

(Ugh, that smile again.. makes him seem dead inside.)

Thank you, Ishid.

It'll be completely alright if I watch you sleep, right?

For a moment she couldn't believe what she heard, so she just stared at the tall figure standing in front of her, and the only words she could utter were

Pardon?..

Ishid burst into a fit of what some would call maniacal laughter

I'm just jesting around, Liz.

Just when she thought this man couldn't get more peculiar, he had seemed to out do himself.

Oh..haha uhm yes..

They both stood there in awkward silence,

Atleast Elizabeth was the one feeling awkward.

Well then, I shall leave.

Making sure he truly left,

she changed into her soft, white sheer night gown.

Jeez, such a strange man.

Looking at the table in front of her bed she noticed the dried out flowers.

Huh? Why does it smell like roses if the only roses that are present, currently seem dead?

Well, not more dead than Ishid's eyes.

She chuckled to herself.

Liz was just that kind of person.

She was the giggle at a funeral, even in such a situation, it was the only way she could stay sane. How she loved making jokes.

These pillows are softer than the ones I have back at home I could just melt in them.

Slumber once again greeted her with warm arms.

She got up with a very uneasy feeling, as if someone was staring at her, but couldn't see anyone by the door on her right.

According to the clock, that was on the left side of her, resting on the bedside table,it was about 6 in the morning, although there was barely any sunlight or the sound of song birds. The only thing she could see and hear was rain.

Why does it rain so much here?

She shivered

uhg it's so cold

She got up and peeked out of the curtains, looking down at the lake below

Atleast the lake is pretty

But everything else seems dead.

Ahh..is this why this place is called the dead land?

"Yes"

Her heart jumped out of her chest as she quickly turned around and yelped

You scared the daylights out of me!

I'm sorry, Liz.

Itwas him again.

In the darkness of the morning

Standing and staring at her

Like a predator does to it's prey.

What are you doing there?

Where you watching me sleep?

She said almost jokingly

But quickly noticed what he was staring at as she covered herself up with her coat

Uhm?

Ah, my apologies,Liz.

You just look so mesmerizing in the daylight

(Daylight? What daylight is this man talking about?)

Thank you, Ishid.

What exactly are you doing here?

I just came up to check on you.

This place is the deadland, afterall.

We wouldn't want something bad happening to you.

We?

Something bad..? Haha.. that's funny..

Oh, right, your brothers..

Where are they? I haven't seen anyone yet..

You will meet them eventually, dear Liz.

Why? Are you bored of me so soon?

No! Well, I'm not really looking for any entertainment..

Ishid steps in towards her

Elizabeth steps back

He holds her wrist

You seem scared of me

He stares into her eyes, which made him seem almost enchanting something about them compelled her to tell the truth.

That's because I am.

Why?

Because you seem like you have no soul.

Ishid lets go off her hand and chuckles

You're quite funny, did you know that Liz?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean that.

Cursing herself for being so rude

She couldn't understand why she said that to him..

Well, it's nothing

Oh

They're here.

Who?

All my dear brothers.

I'm sure they'd like to make your acquaintance.

Don't make us wait.

(Ugh it's that tone of his again..)

Almost inhaling her appearance

He winked at her and left.

Although she wouldn't like to admit it,

The man with those lifeless eyes made her feel some type of way.

Was it curiousity?

Was it fear?

Or was it something far more taboo?

She brushed off her thoughts and got ready to meet the rest of the residents of the mansion.

I wonder if the rest of them are like him.

She said as she closed the door behind her

[Elizabeth]

As I go down the stairs I hear the voices of two men

One that I'm all too familiar with, and the other I have no clue of.

Were you being strange again,Ish?

Me? Strange? When am I ever strange?

Ugh stop looking at me with those eyes of yours

Awh how mean, brother

Their conversation stopped abruptly as both of them laid their eyes on me.
