Chapter 179 - TOA 179: The Angel Necklace

"What is this? Jewel magecraft?" Olga Marie muttered to herself, puzzled, as she looked over the list of materials Morpheus had requested.

She shook her head. "No, it's probably related to his original world. He called it 'magic,' a system distinct from the magecraft I know."

The items on the list weren't particularly valuable... some could even be considered cheap, easily acquired for a few hundred or even tens of dollars. If there was anything special about them, it was their shimmering quality, though they weren't gems or diamonds, so not exactly precious.

After hesitating for a moment, she stood up and headed out.

"He said we could watch, right? If Da Vinci can go, there's no reason I can't!"

With that thought, she made her way to the area where Morpheus was secluded. Though it was called a seclusion, the door wasn't locked tight. A gentle push opened it, and inside, Olga Marie found not only Morpheus and Da Vinci but also Fujimaru Ritsuka, Mash, and even Romani, who was clearly there to spectate.

Seeing Olga Marie enter, Romani whispered, "Director, you're here."

"Yeah, I came to see what he's up to."

"I asked him. He's making a necklace."

"A necklace?"

"Yup. He said a necklace can be worn under clothes, which makes it more practical." Romani pointed ahead. "It's starting."

Olga Marie quickly looked over and saw Morpheus already at work.

He picked up the metals... gold, copper, aluminum, and silver. After taking equal masses of each, he melted them down, shaping the liquefied metals into the base and chain of a necklace.

The chain and base clearly displayed four distinct colors: the yellow of gold, the green of copper, the orange of aluminum, and the silver of silver.

The base was peculiar, designed with four slots to hold different types of gemstones!

Once this was done, Morpheus brought out other prepared materials and began refining them.

With his past experience crafting the Moon Goddess's gem, Morpheus was far more adept this time. He effortlessly carved a solar square into amber, with a numerical sum of 666, imprinting Michael's seal.

Next, he carved a Venus square into malachite, summing to 1225, with Uriel's seal.

Then, he etched a Mercury square into agate, totaling 2080, bearing Raphael's seal.

Finally, he worked with familiar selenite, inscribing a lunar square summing to 3321, marked with Gabriel's seal.

After completing these, he fixed the four crystals into the necklace's slots. Following a standard ritual to awaken their spiritual properties, the power of the angels descended.

The phantoms of the four archangels appeared, resonating with the necklace before Morpheus. Each angel's power corresponded to its specific crystal, transforming the necklace from an ordinary object into a mystical tool... or rather, a mystic code.

With everything complete, Morpheus picked up the necklace. This time, he hadn't used the power of the Greek gods to guide the process, relying purely on his own knowledge. As a master adept who had reached the rank of 6=5, even without divine aid, the necklace he created was no less potent than the Moon Goddess's gem he had made before.

Moreover, this necklace embodied the celestial domains of the four archangels. With it on, Morpheus could freely switch between their powers and wield them with greater precision!

"Done?" Da Vinci asked.

Morpheus nodded. "Done."

"That was quieter than when you made Ame no Murakumo," Da Vinci remarked, picking up her camera to check the recorded footage for any gaps.

"Because it's not that powerful. If it was a truly formidable weapon, I wouldn't be able to make it," Morpheus said, spreading his hands. "If you saw the real Durandal, you'd know how shoddy mine is."

Da Vinci grew more curious, while Jeanne Alter asked, "Your Durandal's power already surpasses most Noble Phantasms. In my memory, nothing's stronger than it. And you're saying it's not that impressive?"

"The real Durandal could go toe-to-toe with Curtana. The Curtana I know grants its wielder power equal to Michael's, and Michael could easily destroy the universe," Morpheus explained, happily examining the necklace and feeling the mystic code's inner power.

With this mystic code, even without Durandal, he was confident he could give Goetia a big surprise.

"Let's call it the Angel Necklace, since it embodies the power of the four archangels." Morpheus said, putting it on.

"Is Curtana really that powerful? How didn't I know?" Da Vinci asked, puzzled.

Fujimaru Ritsuka was equally confused. "What's Curtana?"

"It's the sword of the British royal family, also called the Sword of Mercy," Mash explained.

"It represents the concept that the British monarch is the archangel. Within British territory, its wielder gains Michael's power," Morpheus added.

He wasn't sure if this world had a Servant wielding Curtana as a Noble Phantasm, but he was certain it wasn't the Curtana he knew. For Morpheus, no weapon but Curtana was worthy of representing Britain... just as only Durandal was worthy of representing France!

In the Temple of Time, Goetia, who bore the appearance of King Solomon, had a face clouded with gloom.

He had died, then revived, reappearing in the Temple of Time.

As long as Solomon's corpse, the foundation, remained, and as long as the Temple of Time existed, he could revive instantly, preventing his plan from failing due to death outside.

But he had died!

This realization filled Goetia with deep displeasure.

"Morpheus!!"

Gritting his teeth as he spat out the name, Goetia lightly touched his abdomen.

Even now, the memory of being sliced in half sent a shiver of fear through him.

Recalling those events, Goetia took a deep breath and sank into thought.

"What were those flames? Why were they so powerful? They broke through my defenses, pierced my body, and killed me outright!

"There was divinity in that power, a kind of magecraft I've never seen. How could there be magecraft unknown to me?

"Most importantly, he saw through my facade as Solomon instantly, and my omniscience couldn't penetrate him. How is that possible?! Could a human truly evade my eyes and bring forth a future even I can't control?"

The thought took root in Goetia's mind, spreading and filling him with dread.

He glanced at the light bands above, feeling their immense power, and his anxious heart calmed slightly.

"As long as my plan succeeds, returning to the time before all was born to become this planet's sole god, I can lead humanity and ensure its future. Only then can humanity become truly worthy of survival!!

"They're still destroying Singularities, but there's enough time. Before they can destroy them all, I'll achieve my goal. Then, even if Chaldea hides in the gaps of time, it'll be useless!"

"You mentioned Curtana... is that the Curtana from your world?" Olga Marie asked, sitting in Morpheus's quarters.

Morpheus poured her a cup of tea and sat back down. "Yup. I haven't seen Curtana in this world. No idea what it looks like."

Olga Marie nodded, then asked curiously, "So, you said Curtana's wielder can gain Michael's power in British territory. That's true?!"

"Absolutely. When activated, that sword can cut through all dimensions. Combined with its angelic power, it can strike anywhere... even a god could be killed by it."

Olga Marie nodded slowly, holding up her pinky. "So, Curtana can destroy the world?"

"Yes, if you can unleash its full power."

She raised a second finger. "And there's a Durandal that matches it?"

"Correct."

"How many beings in your world can reach that level of power?"

Morpheus thought for a moment, recalling characters from novels. "Maybe… a few dozen?"

"A few dozen?!" Olga Marie's eyes widened, staring at Morpheus to see if he was joking. Seeing his serious expression, she patted her chest. "Good thing I'm happy staying in this world!"

Morpheus just smiled, saying nothing more.

The atmosphere grew quiet.

After a while, Olga Marie spoke again. "By the way, I dreamed about you again last night."

Morpheus chuckled. "You've got a crush on me, don't you?"

"As if!" Olga Marie glared, pointing at him. "Don't be so full of yourself!"

"Just kidding," Morpheus laughed. "You may be a spirit now and not need much rest, but you still need to relax mentally. Playing games or taking a break isn't a bad idea."

Her expression stiffened, and she looked away. "I don't need your concern!"

Morpheus shook his head. "So, what did you dream about me?"

"You were fighting Typhon, using powerful lightning to kill it outright," Olga Marie said. "It was Zeus's power. In the dream, you were chanting something related to Zeus."

"That time I fought Typhon?" Morpheus was surprised but nodded. "Yeah, I used Zeus's power. Not the Zeus from your records or the Age of Gods, but the Zeus of the divine hierarchy... more like an omnipotent god, the cause of all."

"No wonder. In the dream, you said Zeus was Aether, Gaia, Uranus... all of it, above all!" Olga Marie murmured, recalling the dream. "And you really unleashed that kind of power to kill Typhon… If you used that power, wouldn't it handle Goetia's light bands easily?"

"Not confident," Morpheus shook his head. "To be safe, I'll stick with the four archangels' power. The divine hierarchy Zeus's power, in my hands, can't reach planetary destruction yet. But with the necklace, I can wield the archangels' power at sufficient strength."

After chatting with Olga Marie a bit longer, she left. Three days had passed in Chaldea. During that time, Fujimaru Ritsuka had attended lessons, trained, and even performed a Servant summoning.

The Servant she summoned this time was the one they'd met in London.

The killer targeting women like prostitutes, filled with murderous intent... Jack the Ripper!

The loli!

Morpheus could only laugh, joking that Fujimaru Ritsuka had a knack for lolis and should be careful not to get disemboweled.

Tomorrow, they'd head to the next Singularity.

Olga Marie walked down the corridor, not heading straight to her office but to her room.

Once there, she lay on her bed. Her face, previously calm, quickly flushed red, and she dove under the covers.

"Ah, I couldn't say it! I couldn't tell him I dreamed about him and the Moon Goddess!"

Last night, she hadn't just dreamed of Morpheus fighting Typhon. She'd also seen what happened afterward... Morpheus and the Moon Goddess trapped together, every detail crystal clear!
