Chapter 5 - wilderness asura

Chapter 5: The Asura of the Wilderness

Ron's new spirit abilities were a game-changer. The power of illusion allowed him to manipulate the senses of others, and his deadly soul attack was a finishing move that few could defend against. With these new skills, he was more than ready for his next target: the Black Bull Lord.

This was another advanced-level beast, known for its incredible defense and high speed. Its territory was a desolate grassland where the grass grew tall, almost to his waist. As Ron moved through the field, he was a silent predator, using his speed to hunt.

He found the bull's herd and went to work, targeting the high-level soldier bulls first. Using a subtle illusion, he caused them to see a predator, distracting them just long enough for him to cut their throats with his claws. The low-level bulls, seeing their comrades fall, ran away in a panic, and Ron didn't bother to chase them.

With the herd dispersed, he moved in on the Black Bull Lord. The beast was an imposing figure, a mountain of muscle with horns like jagged daggers. Ron didn't give it a chance. He formed a spiritual nail from his essence and shot it directly at the bull's soul. The spiritual nail hit its mark and, with no defense against it, the bull's soul simply vanished. The beast's colossal body fell to the ground with a thud, its life extinguished in an instant.

Ron took a moment to admire his handiwork. He had killed an advanced-level lord beast with little effort. He then took his time, severing the horns from the bull's head. Black bull horns were highly sought after, a valuable commodity used to make expensive, high-level medicine. They were worth at least fifty million dollars on their own. He had no desire to lose such a valuable asset.

After securing the horns, he used his absorption power. The familiar pink liquid devoured the massive corpse, merging with Ron's body. He felt a newfound sense of robustness, his skin and muscles hardening, giving him an excellent defense. With his explosive speed and now-improved defense, he was a near-unstoppable force.

He continued his hunt, moving from one territory to the next. Three nights passed in a blur of action. Ron, now completely exhausted, made his way back to the city. As he entered the gates, people instinctively moved out of his way. His body, still stained with blood and dirt, radiated a raw, powerful energy. He was like a demon from hell, his long black hair floating behind him. His Asura mask made his appearance even more terrifying, and the leaking cosmic energy from his body was an intimidating presence.

A buzz went through the crowd as they recognized his aura. He was no longer just a battle general. He had reached the level of an advanced battle general or Warlord, a being close to becoming a God of War.

He walked into the Martial Hall market with a purpose. He sold the black bull horns for fifty million dollars. He was happy with the sum. As a warrior, a ten-million-dollar haul was considered a good venture. If he hadn't absorbed the other two lord beasts for their powers, he would have made over one hundred fifty million, but money was not his main goal. Power was. With enough power, he could get as much money as he wanted.

As other warriors watched, filled with admiration and a healthy dose of fear, Ron disappeared with his shadow speed, leaving them all in his wake.

When he reached home, he went straight to his bed and fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. He woke up sometime in the afternoon, ordered a massive, luxurious meal with his new wealth, ate his fill, and went back to sleep. For the first time in his life, he was a man with real power, and he was going to take full advantage of it.
