"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Chapter 325: The Church Exposed
Inside the Sancta Diabolus Cathedral, Tenra sat alone on his throne, eyes closed, mind adrift in the depths of his spirit.
Somewhere along the way, a golden ocean had formed here—a sea of faith, shimmering and endless. In its center, the colossal Codex of Divinitas et Diabolus rose skyward, a monument untouched by time, battered ceaselessly by waves of molten gold.
From the Codex, countless golden threads stretched outward into the void. Every moment, power flowed in from the far side—streams of faith, drawn from believers across the world. The Codex condensed that power into liquid, which then poured into the ocean below.
This was no ordinary sea. It was faith made manifest—a living ocean, swelling with devotion.
Tenra ran the numbers. Nearly a million followers now.
The Khaos Brigade's chaos had thrown the world into turmoil, but for Tenra, it was a windfall. His church's ranks were exploding.
He opened his eyes, lips curling in satisfaction.
His "tools" had been busy. He'd have to reward them.
Just then, a dozen teleportation circles shimmered to life. Katerea stepped out, followed by several dozen female magicians.
Under Tenra's command, Katerea and her subordinates had been scouring the globe, spreading his gospel, recruiting new believers. Every few days, they returned for rest—and to report.
"Master," Katerea intoned, kneeling. The magicians followed suit, bowing low.
Tenra's gaze sharpened. "You're hurt?"
Katerea's face was pale, her aura flickering. The others bore bruises and cuts—fresh from battle.
Katerea wasn't just any magician; she carried the power of Ophis's snake, ranking among the Maou-class. Not top tier, but few in the world could lay her low.
"Master, we were discovered by Hindu clergy while recruiting believers in their territory. We fought a Buddha-ranked opponent."
Shame colored Katerea's voice as she explained. Tenra pieced the situation together.
Hinduism—ancient, vast, the world's largest faith. Many pantheons had grown from its roots. In the Biblical God's heyday, the Church might have kept pace; now, they were outmatched.
Hinduism's clergy included Buddha and Bodhisattva ranks—immense power, legendary status.
At the summit stood three gods: Shiva the Destroyer, Vishnu the Preserver, Brahma the Creator. They were second only to Ophis and Great Red, leaving even Indra of Sumeru and Thor of Norse myth in their shadow.
Katerea continued: while proselytizing in Hindu territory, a shallow believer betrayed them, drawing a Maou-class Buddha. Katerea and her team barely escaped after a fierce battle.
Lucky for them, it was only a Buddha. If one of the three chief gods had intervened, they'd have had no chance. But Katerea's level wasn't enough to warrant their attention.
"Forgive us, Master. We failed to gain new believers and exposed the Church's existence. Please punish us."
The magicians bowed, anxiety written on every face.
Tenra's expression remained unreadable. After a moment, he spoke:
"Our existence was bound to come out eventually. I won't hold this against you."
He gestured. "Go. Clean yourselves up. Katerea, come to my room afterward."
With a flick of his hand, Tenra activated [Holy Mother's Smile], sending orbs of gentle light to heal Katerea and the others.
They'd made mistakes, yes, but he couldn't blame them entirely. So long as his "tools" remained loyal, he wouldn't be needlessly cruel.
"Thank you, Master."
Relief washed over the women as they bowed and retreated to their rooms.
Tenra drummed his fingers on the throne, deep in thought.
Katerea's incident was a wake-up call. The Sancta Diabolus Ecclesia was no longer a secret. Hinduism knew; other factions likely suspected.
For now, they only knew the Church existed—not the "Evil God" pulling the strings.
Tenra had planned for this. The Codex was rigged: unless someone was a true believer, it would self-destruct, leaving no trace. Without the Codex, finding Tenra was nearly impossible.
Besides, the major powers were all busy dealing with the Khaos Brigade's rampage. No one had time to hunt down a minor "Evil God."
He still had time.
Time to recruit more believers. Time to amass more power—before the world caught up.
Resolved, Tenra rose and headed for his private chambers, awaiting Katerea.
"Master, it's Katerea."
"Come in."
The door opened. Katerea entered, freshly bathed, followed by a dozen beautiful women in crisp uniforms.
"Master, these Khaos Brigade captives have completed their conditioning. I've brought them to serve you."
Katerea stood before him, voice proud.
"Well done."
Tenra's praise was cool, but he didn't refuse.
"What are you waiting for?" Katerea snapped at the women. "Serve the Master!"
Whatever they'd endured, these women feared Katerea. They sprang into action—two kneeling at Tenra's sides, others massaging his shoulders and legs. One blushed deeply as she parted her uniform, offering her body for "special service."
Imperial treatment, through and through. Tenra closed his eyes, accepting their devotion.
No one spoke. The room was filled with the careful ministrations of Katerea's "graduates," while Katerea herself waited patiently nearby.
Much later, Tenra opened his eyes, gaze settling on Katerea…
