Chapter 6 - Unlocking Chakra

One week has passed since the start of Academy.

Moonlight streamed through the orphanage window, casting a pale line across the floor. Kaito sat cross-legged on his mattress, the chakra basics textbook closed beside him. He had finished it. Every page, every diagram, every explanation.

[Chakra Basics Textbook(100/100)]

*Note: After knowledge reaches completion, I will remove it, just to save space!*

He understood now.

Physical energy came from the body: cells, stamina, breath.

Spiritual energy came from the mind: focus, awareness, experience.

Chakra was created when both were combined.

He formed the Ram seal.

His roommates were asleep. He had waited for this moment.

He closed his eyes.

First, he reached for his physical energy.

He focused on his breath, his heartbeat, the warmth in his muscles.

He visualized the energy in his cells, gathering behind his navel.

It responded - dense, steady, alive.

Then he reached for his spiritual energy.

He cleared his thoughts.

Focused on memory, intention, clarity.

It was lighter, sharper, harder to hold.

He pulled it inward.

The two energies met.

He aligned them.

They fused.

A pulse ran through his body - warm, balanced, complete.

His panel opened.

* Note: I won't show the knowledge stuff now because I want to put more focus on his strength progress, not his knowledge stuff, ya'know. love u guys! ALSO!!! PLEASE LOOK AT CHAPTER 0 AGAIN. I updated it, so please look at it! Thanks!!!*

Kaito looked at his chakra points and saw it was a measly 8.

...well, I just started so it can't be helped.

In the chakra basics textbook, there was also a meditation technique to increase chakra, so I can increase as much as I want with the panel!

Kaito also realized that this world is much different from Earth. Rather, the human body is built different and the laws that govern this world are different.

No matter how much I could meditate or concentrate with my body on Earth, I would never be able to sense the mysterious energies that compose my body and combine to create chakra.

Kaito then looked at his rank and saw that he still hadn't entered the Academy level.

He wasn't surprised. Takeshi-sensei said that a true academy student has to have at least reached the entry level of one of the three basic E Rank jutsus, enter the entry level of a Taijutsu art, and have their chakra reach the standard.

*Note: Chakra standards are in Chapter 0!!*

He continued to look down and smiled when he saw his progress in Taijustu. He was already far beyond the standards of a lower Academy student in taijutsu, reaching the middle Academy level. By now, all of the students, civilians and orphans included, have entered the entry level of Konoha Taijutsu. However, from what Kaito can see, they are all stuck within the first 10 points. The descendants of ninjas are around 60-80 points, while the clan children are around 80-95 points. Of course, this is only generally. Some civilian ninja descendents are even better than these average clan children, and some clan children are worse than the civilian ninja descendents. To be honest, Kaito was a little shocked when he saw their taijutsu. It took him a lot of work day in and day out to get to 49 points, and some children his age are far beyond him. You have to know, every point more means one more point of sophistication and strength. Someone at 20/100 points of the lower entry level of Konoha Taijutsu can easily defeat someone who is only has 5 points! And as your strength increases, the gap gets even bigger. At some point, even a 4 or 5 point difference could mean a drastic difference in strength.

However, without his chakra reaching the standard, he isn't truly at the academy level. After all, chakra is the foundation of a ninja.

Now that he had unlocked his chakra, he was really tired. But he really wanted to see the 3 basic justu. After holding back for a week to focus on unlocking his chakra, he couldn't wait any longer.

He took the three booklets introducing the three E rank justus: Substitution Jutsu, Transformation Justu, and Clone Justu.

He opened the first.

Substitution Jutsu

A basic escape technique. The user swaps places with a nearby object, wood, stone, anything of similar mass, at the moment of impact. Requires precise chakra timing and awareness of surroundings. Used to avoid damage or reposition in combat.

He flipped through the diagrams. Chakra was molded and held in the body, then released instantly when triggered. The key was reaction speed.

He moved to the second.

Transformation Jutsu

A visual disguise technique. The user cloaks themselves in chakra and reshapes their appearance. Can mimic clothing, voice, even facial expressions. Requires steady chakra control and mental focus to maintain the illusion.

Mistakes caused flickering or partial transformation. The booklet warned against using it while distracted or fatigued.

He opened the third.

Clone Jutsu

A non-physical duplication technique. The user creates illusionary copies of themselves using chakra. The clones have no mass and disappear when struck. Used to confuse enemies or mask movement.

The chakra was spread outward and shaped into identical forms. The challenge was balancing chakra evenly across each clone.

Kaito read each booklet twice.

Then he leaned back, eyes heavy.

His panel flickered open again

*Note: He only read the books roughly, so it shows up on the panel and he really did get some understanding of it, but he needs to be more in-depth for it to actually reflect on the panel and thus hasn't entered the lower Academy level yet. He also needs real practice using the jutsu.*

He stared at it for a moment.

Then he closed his eyes.

Sleep came quickly.
